In the brass FNF category, worked on my RI E8 last night. I mounted the
decoder and speaker but I'm still challenged by all the lighting circuits. The
RI E units had twin lights in the lower casting and a red (reverse running??)
light and clear Mars light in the upper casting. It always feels wiring all
this is like playing with fragile spaghetti! Any helpful insight to share?
This time I used a Tsunami decoder (TSU-GN1000) built to install in an Athearn
Genesis diesel. It has no wire harness, you solder directly to the rather
large tabs. I found it provided an easier and cleaner installation than the
standard Tsunami with all those long wire leads... If I can master the camera,
I'll post a photo.
Sorry, I probably should have started a new thread, but it is a brass diesel...
