Bah! Humbug!

Hi Alex:

Realistically I don't think we in the Great White North (lake-effect snow 
squalls as I write this) can look to our American friends to build distinctly 
Canadian looking motive power for us.  After all would we be willing if the 
shoe was on the other foot?  I think we're going to have to look to our own 
builders, Andy and Simon, if they are willing.

In Southern Ontario I could see some excitement about a NYC J-1 as they could 
be seen running on the TH&B and the Michigan Central.  It's hard to believe 
that not one of these magnificent beasts was saved for preservation.
