The NMRA does offer an Sn3 gage, but not a standard S gauge gage. One reason
for that is because the gage is already available from the NASG. I don't see
why that makes the NMRA a bad monster. Why duplicate something that already
exists and perhaps take the profits away from NASG?
Years ago, I suggested NASG sell the standard gauge gage to the NMRA for resale
to their members. To the best of my knowledge, which could be incomplete, I
don't think anyone from NASG approached the NMRA with that proposal.
However, I seem to recall a recent announcement that the NMRA and the NASG will
swap gages to each other so that both organizations can benefit by selling both
gages. Sounds like a reasonably decent cooperative arrangement to me.
Just a thought....Ed L.
