FWIW, in my business (teaching piano) I never charge for the first month. It's 
easy for me to waive one month of fees since students stay with me for 8 - 10 
years on average. Why doesn't the NASG just give you the first year membership 
for free? If we believe in the product, we might assume the customer will stay 
for many years.
