Andre,

Speaking of loud. I work, commute and nowadays live in a mixed neighborhood. At a red light, I'm frequently sitting next to a car with those big boom box speakers in the trunk set so that the trunk is vibrating.

My solution was to dig out one of those CD's of train sounds. I don't have a fancy player/speaker setup, but with some diesels running notch 8 with the unit turned up, it seems to confuse the guy in the next car. I've actually had a couple give me a thumbs ups while others give me the middle finger. Since Texas is a big gun state and the heat causes tempers to rise, I don't do it that often.--maybe that's where the 'maturity' part comes in, but the young devil in me still is active!

Hi John:
Ah... "mature" does sound so much better than "old"... especially when we're referencing ourselves!
As for the engine sounds and being an "enginear".
Engine's will ruin your ears, that's for sure! (Hay? What'cha say? Better speak up there Sonny!) I wear ear plugs that knock 30db off a noise. Now, about 3 or 4 feet above my head sits an air horn that blows at 130db. Thus, I'm still getting 100db every time that noise happens. And I wonder why I have tinnitus? (Constant ear ringing.)

They are not "old" just mature, like engineers.
If you rely on engine sounds would you be an " enginear"
