Yes but I am not a purist. I like S because of the size and that my eyes can still see the detail and my hands still handle the smaller parts.

I'm not sure what y'all would call me because I have a mix of AF, AM, SHS, PBL and others. Interestingly I don't think anything I have is Hi-Rail. The AF is AF and the rest are on scale wheels. When I do my layout it will be on something like SHS track so I can run them all together.

Everything is 3/16th scale but some are have less fidelity than others.

If I were starting over I probably would not have the AF since that was legacy from my childhood and I still refuse to grow up, just old.

I don't think I have ever seen this question posed.... I would much prefer that you only answer ONCE for yourself since it requires some introspection and also a little confession about what makes you tick. You really can't answer such things for someone else.

What if today S Scale was the "winner" as by far the most popular scale. Anything else is a distant 2^nd .Tons of products. Lots of companies coming out with a never ending flow of wonderful models -- more than most people's wallets can keep up with.

WOULD YOU STILL BE AN S SCALER?
