<*>[Attachment(s) from Bob Werre included below] Bill Lane had asked me for a photo of the load I built for my g-26, so I grabbed my I-phone last night and shot a few reference shots. I also made a couple of views of my recent turntable project.
The load on the PRR car is nothing fancy just a mess of Plastruct I beams. I used old ties as bracing and added some weathering pigments. The Milwaukee AM gon is something I had lot of fun with several years ago. I made two loads from pieces of a really large plastic (Monogram perhaps) Corvette. I had to build two of them for a photoshoot, but didn't need afterward. So I took a wire cutter and cut up the pieces and glued them to scrap sheets of styrene so the load is removeable. I just dribbled MEK down the plastic, added some old Rex wheels and some actual rust from the inside of some water pipes. Adding a few flavors of airbrushed rust paint finished up the project. The turntable is an interesting project that turned out fairly well. It is probably the most unusual kit I've ever built. Custom Model Railroads designed the kit in several sizes by using laser cut sheet acrylic for nearly everything. You form the pit by making up rounds and layers of plastic segments. The bridge area is similarly laser cut making it easy to punch out and glue. Unfortunately I purchased a surplus kit from a friend and they have a newer and better version available now. I didn't use a few of the parts as it was a HO kit--operators shack and the 'gallows' in the middle of the bridge area. It also lacks any rivet detail but it's placed in a more or less un-sceniced area. Anyway after two weeks plus of work it's essentially done. I only have one stall track installed but will probably end up with 4 or 5 in the end. This is an end of track situation where switch engines are stored and some small steam will be turned Bob Werre PhotoTraxx <*>Attachment(s) from Bob Werre: <*> 3 of 3 Photo(s) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/S-Scale/attachments/folder/690677150/item/list <*> G26.jpg <*> scrapload0044.jpg <*> TT2 0041.jpg ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
