That was the main reservation I had about the original patch. The way
this could be problematic (apart from misleading documentation) is
with
non-simply laced types. So it is good that Anne tested C3~.

My I suggest either qfolding and posting the patch or posting both
patches to the trac server? I think Anne created the ticket #8811 for
this purpose. I don't think the patch depends on anything else in the
queue.
