I think discussions like the one above do actually have some value for some people, but I agree that they do not belong on sage-devel. I have thus created a new mailing list sage-flame for all discussions related to Sage that begin evolving into flame wars: http://groups.google.com/group/sage-flame 1. Anybody who actually finds some value in threads like the above should subscribe (I've sent invites to Fateman and Tim Daly). 2. Any time a thread like the above starts on sage-devel/support/edu, then it should *immediately* be moved to sage-flame, so that it doesn't waste anybody's time or energy.
