I meant that in good humor. It's the best tool for the job, but is in no way enjoyable (for me) to work with.
I know William called it "autohell", but that's because he did not RTFM. I see his early attempt at the "prereq" configure script, which was written to be processed by autoconf. Just about every reccomendation in the manual was ignored.
I've done this; I think most developers have. There are thousands of pages in documentation and books, and none seem to be at the right level.
