Okay, I have put up a patch at http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/10556 where there is a screen shot so you can give feedback, at least on wording etc., without having to build it. It's a button with options of ~/bin and /usr/local/bin to install a symlink. Then it just runs the command in a shell so that they can type in their password if needed and see any output that there may be.
