I have been offered a Motorola V66 for my project and I am
getting totally lost at the Motorola website when trying to establish if this
phone will work with AT+C.
Anyone had any success with SAlive alerting with this
phone?

Everyone,
I have been using
GSM paging for some time (ever since the first AT+C beta came out) and it works
very well. I am using two different cellphones on two installations of Servers
Alive. The first is a Sony Ericsson F500 using a serial cable while the other is
a Sony Ericsson K300 using a serial cable.
The first one is
using 8N1 at 19200 baud while the other is 7E1 at 19200
baud.
The only problems
I have had is that sometimes SA loses the modem and gives a 201 error but we got
around that by writing an application which checks the log file, if it finds the
error it stops SA deletes the logfile and restarts SA. I haven't checked lately
to see if V5.1 is still doing this.
I use our
local Vodafone cellphone provider an a plan which gives a 1000 text
messages for $30 per month.
Regards -
Russell

I have done some research and it seems that the Sony
P800/P900 do not support the AT+C protocol.
I even went back and tried an old Ericsson R520m, but same
problem there.
I'll do some research at the suggested site.
Thanks!

phones need extra drives to work properly. the www.winsms.com FAQ may help you
find a suitable model.
