And I'm amazed about you skills reading other ppls. mind. Rod didn't say anything about a proxy. He simply asked quote "How can I make sambar the faster gun in town?". Not about what is usefull, not about what has a good TCO. He wants to have the fastest. So using more CPUs is a valid option, regardless if the application is build for it or not, more CPUs will benefit the overall system performance. Sure, it will not be that much an application build for multiple CPUs would archive. But more is more. We didn't talk about how many more is more. :-) My question "what raid" doesn't mean "what is raid" (you notice the word 'is'?). My question was to get the information what level of raid he uses.
