You could use the BIND8 for NT/2000 so you can switch the zones over to the *nix machine if you ever needed (& vis-versa). SimpleDNS is cool and certainly dummy proof but it reminds me too much of that worthless MSDNS and requires too much maintenance. BIND can be scripted.
