I have played somewhat with the skak package.
I like the way the diagrams are handled and can be scaled. Also the fonts
are much better.
However I saw few drawbacks. I cant tell if its not possible or I couldnt
find it.. ;). The use of Informator symbols in Skak are badly documented...
- The showboard works only on the mainline. If I want to show a diagram
whitin the variation then the diagram of the mainline is shown. I have
experimented with \hidemove but that didnt do the trick.
- using Informator tags dont work in mainline{ } or variation { }. They
must be put outside these brackets. If its done on the mainline eq.
mainline { 1. e4 e5} \wbetter. Then the \wbetter is shown on a new line.
Not behind the move e5.
Perhaps the above issues are due lack of my knowledge and can anyone shed
me some light on this .. ;)
