Don't know this track but i like 'sleeper in metropolis', i dig the whole raw electronics and poetry type thing - i think cold/dark wave it might be called. I suppose being a fan of vladimir m/terrace production this is some of the only stuff i can file under my interpretation of this category. It's interesting how this dark view of the future contrast is in contrast to the early techno 'future is great' vibe as discussed recently. Maybe these thoughts are more relevant for today. (313) kw aerodynamic remixes
So, maybe I'm slow on the draw but... Kraftwerk Aerodynamik Remixes Kling Klang Dynamik mix -- almost the same as the original with a more atmospheric intro, and a few different pad overlays. Nice to have if you don't have the album on vinyl, but nothing earth-shaking. Alex Gopher/Etienne De Crecy mix -- can you say Acid? I guess acid is the new old thing these days. This works in a fairly cynical, dance floor manipulative way, but not sure I like it. I might play it, but I'd feel cheap afterwards ;-) Francois K Areo mix -- subtly different than the original, but builds nicely. Not equal to the FK 'Tour De France' remix but after all, what is? I've started buying anything I see that he mixed or edited, which will probably involve some disappointment and heartbreak, but the man is a scientist.

It was poor and he was really pushing it. I thought he played some really nice deep and melodic techno. The first hour I dont think I heard a single record from this decade. It was great to finally hear Emotion Content. Windchime sounded amazing and I think its going to get a lot of play in the course of the next few months. I had decided on Friday to go and I was lucky enough to find a cheap flight from Miami and I had the time of my life. Here's some of the songs I was able to remember him playing add some more if you remember. nirvana - lithium white stripes - 7 nation army new order - confusion (koma and bones mix) mad mike and perception - windchime dj rolando - aguila funk d'void - emotional content prodigy - out of space anthony rother - body talk? nitzerebb - murderous (phil kieran mix) marshall jefferson - move your body laurent garnier - the man with the red face I also heard a few things off his excess luggage cd as well that was nice to be able to hear those records out as well. I just hope that next time he comes a little closer to home or that Miami wakes up and books him at a nice venue. I think he would be great here since he crosses genre's so well. I thought he was relentless techno for the most part and he was always really energetic behind the turntables. Looking forward to Movement 2004. Regards, Ramon
RE: (313) Jeff Mills comp on Azuli
I really like the DT one, though it took me a bit to warm up to it. He must have spent an immense amount of time on it because he re-edits nearly every track and writes a paragrah or two in the liner notes on each of them. Also have the Francois K and DLC discs and they are amazing as well. Gonna pick up Vega's asap and then Mills. there's also a danny tenaglia and tony humphries comp in the series. all these choice series of comps are really good, the derrick carter is brilliant. the frankie knuckles comp has the incomparable 'love bug' by bumblebee unlimited. the danny tenaglia one is the weakest - but it does contain two stone cold gems; Tony Cook - On The Floor and Hugh Masekela - Don't Go Lose It Baby. can't wait for the jeff mills. james www.jbucknell.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] et To 03/05/04 11:24 PM Robert Taylor <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> cc Sven Venema <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, ThReE-oNe-ThReE <313@hyperreal.org> Subject RE: (313) Jeff Mills comp on Azuli the derrick carter one was loosly 'mixed' supposed it depends on how mixable the tracks are from one to the next. I've heard that one of the other 2 lps is a Dark Comedy album. Don't know much more than that though. [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: LOL! Beautiful tracks from start to finish. I recommend purchase on sight.
