it´s a shame that i´m asleep when all these discussions are going down...have to get a pc at home to, this could be fun:) all the tracks from the album are gonna be released on vinyl and it will mastered this week. if there is any place left well try to throw in some new tracks...at least i want to. it´s gonna be released as 3 singles and probably just follow the tracklisting on the cd. ps. i don´t either own a may single, it´s not painfully i´m admitting this, i see it as an interesting thing where music of the same vibe and spirit can be done on the other side of the atlantic without even being exposed to the original. peace, aril -Ursprungligt meddelande- Från: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Skickat: den 20 september 1999 18:35 Till: mumtaz Kopia:313@hyperreal.org Ämne: Re: (313) transmat zach: aril brikha's full length isn't scheduled for a vinyl release, *but* there are a number of singles planned, so most of it will eventually end up on vinyl. brikha interview coming up on a future edition of Andrew Duke's In The Mix. andrew duke :) mumtaz wrote: yes, i must painfully admit i never owned all of derrick's may's prime material. instead of trying to grab all the 12's i must say i am now the very pleased and proud owned of an innovator box set. so essential. may tracks caanot be overplayed... the aril brikha album deeparture in time is also very nice...but has it been learned if this will be put out on vinyl any time soon? i doubt it, given the fact that the cd to vinyl release plan at transmat is unpredictable. but aril is just fine for listening as well , of course. -- mumtaz e-legal underground, chicago http://www2.uic.edu/~zlubin1 [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Cognition/Andrew Duke's In The Mix mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://techno.ca/cognition 1096 Queen St #123 Halifax NS Canada B3H 2R9

its emails like these that make me wish sean deason was still on 313. in some ways i can almost hear what he would say about this. anyone else want to step up? im too tired rht let me have a go...:) as dale said: those were designed to work on women so i´m glad that Mr Cyborg did´nt get a errection. and some would say that the largest erogeonous zone is the mind -- how come you bring up porno and hot women then...? sounds like sex for you is just graphical and music is mental. it can be the other way around for me sometimes. if you tried not to masterbate and have actual sex with a women (to dale´s music for example...) you will find out what we know that you don´t :) detroit technno/music is the closest thing to sex if you can embrace and by that i mean feel it, not just hear it. peace, aril -Ursprungligt meddelande- Från: rob. I get an errection from pornos and hot women It's all a matter of taste. Maybe in some vague sense detroit techno is sexy -- kinda like a Pulp Fiction sexy: it has elements of class and danger -- maybe staring at a vouge looking chick smoking a cig, sipping on a cocktail, in a nightgown type of sexy. Nahh, detroit techno is all mental for me -- and some would say that the largest erogeonous zone is the mind -- but sex does not occur in detroit techno (for me). I have never masterbated while listening to detroit techno (hmm sounds like an idea :) Haha, well that is my .02 its emails like these that make me wish sean deason was still on 313. in some ways i can almost hear what he would say about this. anyone else want to step up? im too tired rht np: some theorem mp3 thats getting me all hot and bothered.

um yea.. come to think of it a Good reverb on Aril's part and a good ganja score on my part led to that hallucination. druggz are baddd mkay!? -adam sounds like i will have to supply my records with tags that says: THIS SHOULD NOT BE CONSUMED WITH DRUGS AND PLEASE PRACTISE SAFE SEX. if not i´ll probably end up like philip morrison and get sued from idiots that blame them for getting cancer when smoking. my problem would then be people with HIV. over and out, aril -Ursprungligt meddelande- Från: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Skickat: den 21 september 1999 07:29 Till: 313@hyperreal.org Ämne: Re: (313) Sex and Music In a message dated 9/20/99 11:21:41 PM US Eastern Standard Time, I wrote... i agree to the fullest! i´ve been hearing that BS for so long from people for example who are against others having their pics taken, as if that would have anything to do on wheither the music is good or not, wheither it´s underground or not or even as if the records would sell more because you have a picture featured in a magazine... as long as you make the music for yourself and you never comprimise, it will never be a sellout. aril -Ursprungligt meddelande- Från: tim baker [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Skickat: den 20 september 1999 15:48 Till: 313@hyperreal.org Ämne: Re: (313) mills again Jeff Mills has changed the way all of us think about Detroit techno. He make his music the way he wants to. He plays his records the way he wants to. We all do the exact same same when we make our music and spin our records. But, sometimes I think just because he's popular and makes money doing what we all do I feel that some people are to judgemental on him. Imagine doing what you love and making a good living at it. Music is and artform that society labels, packages and sells. And just because someones music sells well doesn't make them a sell out. Tim Dan Laylow wrote: look - i don't want to offend anyone - but do you guys really think he is all that. I like a lot of his records but i could never rate him as a dj. sorry, and anyone who makes the kind of money he makes is a pop star and not some minimal artistic whatever... and anyone who puts themselves in front of a crowd as a performer needs thick skin to survive. I am sure if mr mills was here with me now he would agree - and laugh at me as he counts his cash. and remember the cover of tresor 2 - those damn hands - and all this time i thought purpose maker was such art' __ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

The trouble is he's in a position to do what the fuck he wants to and there's nothing anyone can do! you don't have to buy anything. Mills doesn't dominate the techno market, ya know. i think in my entire record collection he holds 2 spots. (probably like .001%) Partly because i've found stagnation in his music. Partly because 99% of the his domestic vinyl releases are ALL MID-RANGE eq'd. and Partly because i do not hero-worship him. Mills Mills... blah blah. We all have our opinions. But i'd bet that the majority of the people on this list have heard BETTER. (:insert Groove 'La Chord here:) just my $2 -adam
