Re: [AI] quire regarding excel

2014-07-11 Thread Him Prasad Gautam
hi,
There are two lookups.
vLookup and hLookup.
it is to find the particular value with a reference of an item in two tables.
vLookup for vertical searching and hLookup for horizontal search.
Take an example:
you have an excel table sheet one with country name in column a and
the capital in column b.
Assume that this table contains all countries of the world. and has a
data from a1 to b200

Now in sheet number 2, if you just type the name of a country in
column say c1; and if you desire let excel automatically write the
capital of that country in cell d1

In this case, you can use vLookup command.
in sheet2, cell d1; you have to write the formula:
=vlookup(c1, sheet1!a1:b200,2)
now if you change the name of the country in cell c1 of sheet 2, the
corresponding name of the capital will be written in cell d1 of
sheet2.
No change
The value of d1 is looked insheet 1 and written at the cell containing
the lookup formula.
Enjoy.

[AI] Tata Photon Max WI-FI, performance?

2014-07-11 Thread Amit Bhatt
Friends,

I am looking to purchase Tata Photon Max WI-FI device to be used in
Delhi for better internet experience for personal use. Currently I am
using Reliance HSDPA Broadnet data card and now willing to leave it
for Tata Photon Wi-Fi as this Wi-FI device has better speed of 9.2
MBPS and internet can be used in 5 devices in form of computers or
mobile all together.
Only the thing I want to know about it's overall performance in all aspects.

Please share the experience.

Re: [AI] please help regarding indian rail train availability

2014-07-11 Thread Amit Pahuja
one more question please, what're the concession rules for a visually
impaired person and the escort traveling in rajdhani and express trains?

I googled for the same, it says 25% for rajdhani trains and 75 for the
other ones. R these applicable only for V-I's or even for the escort?

If I'm going somewhere with a companion how many tickets do I need to buy?

Subject: [AI] Tata Photon Max WI-FI, performance?

Only the thing I want to know about it's overall performance in all
aspects.

Please share the experience.

Regards,

Amit Bhatt

[AI] 'India should allow 100 per cent FDI in disability sector' Financial Express

2014-07-11 Thread avinash shahi
When I opened English National Dailies today, and read the news of
Braille currency flashing splashing everywhere, thought why not to do
a research on Disability and Media in India in PH.D... Very timely and
of course in demand... Smiles.
Ht: reports 'budget with vision
New Indian Express flashes: 'FM with humane touch'
Toy reports: 'Mixed response from blind'
And The Hindu has carried two reports One titled: 'thums up for
Braille presses, what else? activist, and 'Visually challenged see
hope of change'
And finally, more interesting and catchy headline is quoted from
Pranav Desai sitting in America by Financial Express 100% FDI in
disability sector'... Bottomline: This is the power when FM speaks for
disabled media reacts and reacts overboard... Isn't it too good?

Re: [AI] queery related to flipkart e books.

2014-07-11 Thread Siddhi Desai
Dear Giri,
I bought a e book from flipcart. The book can be read from apple
devices but it is not accessible on your computer with windows. As the
flipcart reader which they have developed is not accessible itself.
However, on apple devices it was deficult for me to go to particular
page in the book and would prefer to say that on apple devices the e
book will be manageable rather accessible.

Sincerely
Siddhi

Re: [AI] Announcement at airports: Silent airports

2014-07-11 Thread Divyanshu Ganatra
Dear all,
I'm a frequent flyer, and i am beginning to notice the concept of
silent airpoerts increasing day by day. its terrible if you are
someone with a disability, elderly, or illiterate. if you are at Delhi
international airport for example each rest bay has 20 sections with
just one display board per bay. this is super inconvinient even if you
are able to read the display.
The bigger issue here is the blatant disregard of accessibility
norms. I'm quite upset and will like to know how did this concept
lach on and how come the disability rights groups are silent on the
issue?
What can be done about it? what does everyone on this list feel?
appreciate your thoughts, comments and suggestions on the way forward

Subject: Re: [AI] Announcement at airports: Silent airports

Dear all,
I'm a frequent flyer, and i am beginning to notice the concept of
silent airpoerts increasing day by day. its terrible if you are
someone with a disability, elderly, or illiterate. if you are at Delhi
international airport for example each rest bay has 20 sections with
just one display board per bay. this is super inconvinient even if you
are able to read the display.
The bigger issue here is the blatant disregard of accessibility
norms. I'm quite upset and will like to know how did this concept
lach on and how come the disability rights groups are silent on the
issue?
What can be done about it? what does everyone on this list feel?
appreciate your thoughts, comments and suggestions on the way forward
to change this thoughtless and insensitive concept.

Re: [AI] queery related to flipkart e books.

2014-07-11 Thread Siddhi Desai
Well, no not the way we download in general. However, you can read
book offline through app on Androit and Apple devices and through web
reader on your PC. The web reader was not accessible at all when i
downloaded the book. Jaws used to read "Blank" through out Then i
tried on apple device which helpped me to at least read the book but
used to jump in between from middle of the text to first page of the
book. As I could not locate the buttons or links to go to particular
page. i used to scroll down till the page where i was reading.

For your reference, I am pasting 2 questions from the FAQ of flipcart.

1. How can I read the eBooks purchased?

Ebooks can be read in two ways.

1. You can install the Flipkart eBooks app available in the Google
Play store, Apple iTunes store and Windows store.
2. You can read the eBook online and offline using the the flipkart
"Web Reader".
3. Kindly log in with the same e-mail id via which you have placed the
order to read/download an eBook.

2. From where can I download the eBooks I purchased?

eBooks purchased can be downloaded from the Library section on the
Flipkart eBooks App and Web reader.
Currently you can only purchase and download eBooks only within the
territory of India and not available for international countries.

If you want to know more about Flipcart E books the link is pasted below.

2014-07-11 Thread Vikas Kapoor
In fact in any type of mobile data, you need to take into account several
indicators, for example, the area you reside in, which floor of the building
you stay at, how congested is the place you are operating in,sometimes even
the timing of the day matters a lot!
