If OOo would implement captions that can be placed on top, right, bottom or left the problem could be easily resolved by automatic or manual captioning of formulae. Using a table (as it is done by the fn + F3 rather seems to be a workaround. On the other hand the caption framing is somehow messy to. So my suggestion is the following: 1) Captions should be frames with a table inside, where the content is placed in a separate cell like the caption is. 2) rightclicking the captions frame should trigger a format caption menu with an option to change the position, to fix it relative to the surrounding page/frame or to remove the caption at all. 3) A caption style would help to keep this settings constant all over the document. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. One can set different headline levels and generate a TOC. This index however cannot be used as a navigation instrument or can be altered from the outside (e.g. it is not possible to generate new headlines from within the TOC). A solution beside folding and unfolding of certain levels in the document could be a structured view like in freemind (http://freemind.sourceforge.net), a mind mapping software, that allows to structure the entries logically, fast and transparently. This could be used as a browser in an additional window or as a structuring instrument in the early stages of the document. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. You have a structure view of your document, you can rearrange your document, you can jump to headlines and to all the objects and references in your document. You can even transfer things to other documents. So I think, there is no need for a structure view. If you do not agree, please describe, what feature you are missing in comparision to the Navigator. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. So called mind managing software allows the user to build a structure right from the beginning with simple and straight forward navigation (actually cursor keys enter, insert, del are alread enough to build a tructured document) in a 2D-dependency tree. This facilitates a larger portion of the display for structuring (usually up to 300% more!) and allows to show/hide (un-/fold) specific subentries (not only all at a certain level). What I am also missing is management information like which portion has been modified when and by whom (necessary in a collaborative environment) as well as marking (e.g. flagging with todo, asigned to, etc. info) of the elements. I do agree that this issue should be resolved as a navigator enhancement. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Steps 2 reproduce: 1. new text document 2. type fn and press F3 - a table with a formula appears 3. select the E=mc² and type any long text into the formula editor 4. leave the editor by clicking somewhere else on the page 5. if the formula is long enough (try also to align the formula to the left) the system loops to infinite page no. and stalls This might be related to the fact that the formula object is non-wrapping (though it schould be), it is incompressible (in size, as it should be do keep the te font size constant) and writer does not find enough space to squeeze the thing into. To summarize, the problem is a result of: 1. missing wrapping code for formulae 2. lack of proper formula labelling/numbering/captioning (c.f. bug #3734) 3. A problem with the handling of oversize cells in tables - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I got, as expected, into the read only mode, but the toolbars Form Controls and Form Design appeared there. All icons of both toolbars are disabled in the read only mode (even the Button Open in Design Mode), which made these toolbars completely useless. =I will attach a screenshot! I have re-read my reproduce steps and I still think they are correct, please tell me if there are any doubts. Now I discovered what really happens. If I select font size 96 and I change my mind to select another font size, I select the relative position in the screen from the origin font. I know this explanation is not clear: I don't know how to tell you. For example, re-selecting font size 6 (that is positioned at the top of the list, 6 positions above the last visible size), coming from font size 96 (that was positioned at the bottom of the list, with 6 visible font sizes above it) I select font 60 instead of 6. What is important is that you have to scroll with the mouse wheel the font size list, not to scroll with scrollbar. Scrolling with scrollbar does not have any unexpected results. Sorry guys, don't know how to explain this better. Comment anything, I just want to help. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
