Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] 1000 Posts and Counting...
congratulations! and may i also say congratulations to slim devices on the growth - for me personally trying these forums has become totally overwhelming compared to a year ago. every day now there are 4 new pages of news in "general discussion" wow... shows... (1) the success of slim devices (great!!) (2) the limitations of web 2.0 self-support community wikis and environments, at some point in time now one can check everything and the enrvironment relies on either hyper-dedicated private evangelists or hope the company throw more official support into the forums... -- pablolie pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42900 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles

I have to agree with EZK's sentiments too. I have never become involved with a product in this manner before (and still find it a bit uncomfortable to tell the truth) but I am very glad to own a number of SlimDevices and to partake in my own tiny way in the development of new ones. I too am extremely glad that the community feeling and forum feedback seems to have remained with the Logitech takeover.. I really didn't expect it to. I think SlimDevices has been a quite unique company and am very glad that their refreshingly open (and open-minded) attitude has really paid dividends for them. I am proud to have been associated with the the company and it's products Now pass the sick-bag Alice. MC -- ModelCitizen Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known. Congratulations ezkcdude! Yes, I must say, I've never been so involved in a company whose products I own as Slim Devices, and I'm pleased that the feeling stayed the same with Logitech. I compare it to my other tech products and the feeling is just not there. Linksys/Cisco? Toshiba? Marantz? Even my Energy speakers? Just not there - I'm just a sales figure to those companies. I have no particular allegiance to them, when it comes to replacing those products I'll go with the best value-for-dollar proposition and I have no qualms about throwing brand loyalty out the window. But with this company, it's different. The CEO and directors answer questions very frequently, and are honest about their products. And concerns about the product DO get addressed, despite some comments on the forum - when was the last time you were able to submit a bug for your DVD player, and when was the last time the company actually changed the DVD player to accommodate you? -- Mark Lanctot Ben Klass: "I won't even eat a pre-7.0 meal. [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] 1000 Posts and Counting...
I had an idea to start this thread a couple days ago when I was at 998 posts, but I guess I forgot, because this post will actually be 1004 for me. Anyway, looking back the last couple of years, it's hard for me to believe I actually had that many posts here. Some of you have many more than I do, of course. So, here's a thread that when you reach this magic number, you can post your thoughts/reflections/fondest memories or just gloat (if you really want to). This is really one of the best forums and best online communities around, and that's doubly impressive because it's hosted by a private (but clearly charitable) company. I'd like to personally thank all the good folks who make the branch of Logitech called Slim Devices that we have all come to know and love. Your products I cannot live without, and that now includes the SBC and SBR, new members of your product family and mine, too. Keep up the great work. I pledge to keep contributing as long as I can. -- ezkcdude There are 10 kind of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who don't.
