Re: [Chevelle-List] installing 66 radio
its all hooked up and sounding good(as good as a 36 old year am radio can)looks great .yes it is the correct model jason pollock The positive lead goes to the positive terminal on the radio, you can use an aligator clip jumper if you have to, and the neg lead can go to the body of the radio, are you sure you even have the correct radio for your car? it should be Delco model number 986528 Rocky --- jason pollock <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: how do i hook it up to the battery charger? thanks jason Jason, facing the radio on the right hand side, to the back, should be a terminal/lug type affair with a screw attched to the case, this is for the ground. If I were you I would bench test the radio befor you install it. use a 12v power supply/battery/battery charger, and an old speaker, but bottom line is you can ground directly to the radio case to the dash. Re: [Chevelle-List] installing 66 radio
The '66 radio has a metal bracket that attaches to the dash and the radio case. This is to prevent the radio from bouncing around and it also serves as the ground. A yellow wire to the radio supplies the power. Re: [Chevelle-List] installing 66 radio
You have to have a ground. I can't remember where they hooked up, but I do remember there was 2 wires for the speaker. I would try one to the case and see if the light lights up. If it is sparking when you touch the case to ground, do you have a ground hooked up to it.
