Sorry to hear your news. We had a friend that had a stroke and when she arrived at the hospital in less than 2 hours; The Doctor asked that question, and gave her a new shot and she walked out of the hospital 3 days later. She is doing some therapy. She is a walking miracle according to her Dr. We know with your strong personality that you will find the strength to survive another time. Richard H. Please take care. Because low platelet counts need more self care. My counts also went low. But my oncologist stops the medicine once it reaches low and then allows to recover to restart the medicine. I didnt know organic papaya leaf tea is available readily made. I collect Papaya leaves from friends and make the powder at home. I live in Chennai, which is a metro city in south of India. Hope your platelet counts improve soon. regards, Ragavan On Sun, May 24, 2015 at 7:37 AM, ANGELYN ESDERS wrote: > Thank you very much, Ragavan, for your suggestion. > I immediately ordered some organic papaya leaf tea and I am awaiting its > arrival. > I can't wait to try it as my platelets are still so very low in number. > Minimum level is 150-450.I have 9. Re: [CMLHope] Platelets
Hi Angie, I am back with some important information for you There is a company called Puritans Pride that sells exactly what I am talking about. But one and get a total of three for only $13.95. They also sell six bottles buy just buy the three for now and give it some time and see how it works on you. http://www.puritan.com/papaya-enzymes-129/chewable-super-papaya-enzyme-plus-000982 Also I think that you might want to find out the root cause of your low platelet count. I am betting on the TKI your on now. Depending on what your PCR shows your doctor may think about lowering your dose, or in the future think about switching you to another TKI. I would also get in contact with Dr. Brian Druker and or Dr. Moshie Talpaz for their advice. I hope that I was able to help you out. I believe that if you help someone then it will come back to you when you really need it. Maybe my kidney transplant? Maybe my bone marrow transplant? Who knows but no matter what I will still dedicate my life to try and help people if I possibly can. Now you know why I always end with 18's (life) Marty On Sun, May 24, 2015 at 8:24 AM, Marty Gartenberg wrote: > Hi Angie, > > Please read this about the effects to not only your platelet counts but > also your red cell count. Re: [CMLHope] Platelets
Hi Angie, Please read this about the effects to not only your platelet counts but also your red cell count. Ragavan gave you some valuable advice but you need to find the best supplement that contains the best form of Papya leaf extract. By the way when I had my bone marrow transplant one of my friends got me some of it and it did work. Let me do some research and get back to you. In the meantime you must be extremely careful not to injure your self. don't walk around barefoot or even use slippers. It will not offer any protection if you should stub one of your toes. I know all about that because it happened to me. OK on to some research. By the way I am slowly starting to recover from the Staff infection in my lungs. I have a picc line and wear an infusion pump 24/7 for the next few weeks. I will get back to you 18's, Marty http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3757281/ On Sat, May 23, 2015 at 10:07 PM, ANGELYN ESDERS wrote: > Thank you very much, Ragavan, for your suggestion. > I immediately ordered some organic papaya leaf tea and I am awaiting its > arrival. > I can't wait to try it as my platelets are still so very low in number. > Minimum level is 150-450.I have 9. [CMLHope] platelets are rising again Giant Platelets?
Hi all, Congrats to all the 5 year anniversary CML warriors. My platelets have started to rise again. They were 763 with Giant Platelets noted. What are these Giant Platelets? Also my MCHC was out of the normal range: 31.9. I think my onc will probably up my Gleevec again or change my therapy. I have had the large platelets but this time it said Giant Platelets. [CMLHope] platelets keep going up is this a sign of gleevec not working?
Hi and blessing to all, I have a question about platelets going up while on gleevec. My blood counts stayed in the normal range for a long time and then in the last few months, have been going up and down. My WBC has gone up also but still in the normal range. I am taking 400 mgs of Gleevec daily and have been for 3 1/2 years now. My last platelet count was 745 out of range and RDW 14.7(normal for me) MPV 11.1 My WBC was 10.4 high normal. My Baso was 3.0 H a little high. It had a note saying occasional large platelets noted. My platelets have been this high before and came down again but never to the 250 range that I was having. I have been suffering from a heel inflamation and I know that this can cause you platelets to rise. Has anyone had this happen to them? My onc has ordered a FISH and will get the results soon. Here's the rest of the test results. RBC 4.59 HGB 13.6 HCT 41.1 MCV 89.7 MCH 29.8 MCHC 33.2 Segs 65.0 Bands 7 Lymphs 14.0 abnormal what is this?? mono 9.0 Ros 2-0 baso 3.0 abnormal whats this??? [CMLHope] platelets
Hi Anjana, Things are about the same here with Randy. He is taking a neulasta shot about every 4 weeks now.It is lasting a bit longer each time. The problem now is his platelets are going to low.87.k/ul His RBC is 3.11. My question is how low will they let it go befor they give him platelets? The specialist in Iowa City told us that as soon as the CML was under control the blood would take care of it's self and come up on it's own.He has a PCR test on the 29 of this month. His last fish was so low that they said it was not accurate,so now the will only do pcr testing.Do you think it just the gleevec(800mg)keeping his counts so low?His ANC was 1.1 yesterday,he will have a shot when it gets under 1. Thanks Anjana and everyone else for being my sounding board.Sandy - Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo!
