Gingrich.
Do you think so?

I see a Republican Party in disarray, as
most of the predictions that were made by the chickenhawks before the war have
beenshattered by reality. They broke Iraq, and now they can't fix
it. They have to cover their asses now, and they are strugglingto
find agraceful exit. The problem is, there is no graceful exit in
sight -- only failure and humiliation. They are in squirm mode, flopping
around like a fish on the dock. There is no plan behind it all, just one
stupid miscalculation after another. We got drawn into the same trap in
Iraq that the Russians were drawn into in Afghanistan. We're sitting ducks
now. Ouradversaries are free to toy with us, on their turf.
Every Iraqi is a potential spy and guerrilla -- Bremer will be unable to sort
out friendsfrom foes.

Bush, with his dumb bluster,has
alienated most of the other nations in the world, including our most important
traditional allies, so they have no interest in helping us. They are
probably richly enjoying Bush's comeuppance in Iraq, after enduring so many
insults from him. Bush threw away a tremendoustreasure of good will
towards America in a very few months -- it was an extraordinary performance in
mismanagement, but not a surprising performance based on his track
record.

Donald Rumsfeld, who can see the
handwriting on the wall, no fool he,is trying to distance himself from the
fanatics in the Cheney group, using Gingrich as a mouthpiece. There is a
real split within the Republican Party over Mideast policy in general.
Many Republicans are beginning to realize just how unreliable and crazy the
neocons are. After the Iraq fiasco, we can probably now write off
thegrandiose schemes of the neocons for waging World War IV in five or six
other Mideast nations.

Dick Cheney is being set up by the media
to take the fall for the whole mess -- this much is obvious. Many of the
neocons are now pretending that they had nothing to do with what went
wrong. It was all Cheney's fault, you see. He made them do it.
And whatever you do, leave Israel out of it.

Mideast experts, as opposed to Mideast
ideologues, accurately predicted these outcomes before the war -- it was an easy
call.

I know you think the CFR has a centralized
grip on everything. It's a free country -- that's your privilege. :)
Keep the interesting conspiracy theories coming -- who knows, you might strike
gold.

It's time the U.S. should realize that they've been drawn into a trap. We are fighting (and doing a darned poor job of it) someone else's war. The U.S. needs to understand that the enemy of our enemy is not necessarily our friend, but would be very glad to use our resources to achieve its own ends. After last night's sixty minutes, it appears that we are putting Saddam's bully boys back in charge. So much for freeing the Iraqi from their oppressors. It's just that now we get to oppress them too. Perhaps the search for Saddam is because we want to return him to his former position--kind of a classic fullcircle. Prudy

[CTRL] Shock Video: Who Shot The New 9/11 Tapes?

2003-12-08 Thread William Shannon
-Caveat Lector-
http://www.antiwar.com/justin/justincol.html

December 8, 2003

SHOCK VIDEO: WHO SHOT NEW 9/11 TAPES?
Did Al Qaeda shoot recently released footage of 9/11 WTC attack or was it someone else?

I shivered, a little, as I watched Lisa Meyers' report on NBC the other night:

"New and threatening messages have been received from Al Qaeda. There's a videotape aimed at American and Saudi Arabian rulers and another that includes what appears to be well-produced footage of the 9/11 attacks raising still other questions."

It's sinister to contemplate. Video believed to have been in U.S. government hands somehow pops up on a website alleged to be an Al Qaeda mouthpiece, and U.S. government officials hold it up as a reason to cower in fear before the threat of another major terrorist attack on American soil. Meanwhile, the President avers that Iraq is the central arena in his "war on terrorism," and his supporters claim that we're battling them in the streets of Baghdad so we don't have to fight them in the streets of Boise or whatever alliterative cliche first comes to mind.

This new 9/11 footage sure does raise a lot of other questions, first and foremost: who shot the video? It was posted on what is described as "a known Al-Qaeda website" last Wednesday, although it was taken down after a few days. Aside from the usual militaristic gymnastics by jihadi commandos, Meyers reports:

"The tape also contains what U.S. counterterror experts say may be never-before-broadcast video of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York's World Trade Center shot from across the East River in Brooklyn. The FBI says it is familiar with the video, which was provided by a friendly bystander. But that raises the question how did a tape that was not widely circulated end up on a known Al Qaeda site?"

The idea that Al Qaeda had additional agents in the area, who knew the attack was coming, would certainly explain the unflinching steadiness of the camera's eye as it recorded the terror of that moment. But instead of inventing additional elements and players, it's always best to stick with what we already know. So who else just happened to be videotaping the World Trade Center attack that day?

Hours after the terrorist struck, five people were arrested in New Jersey as they taped the WTC from their vantage point across the Hudson River in New Jersey. A witness identified only as "Maria" by ABC News said she saw:

"Three young men kneeling on the roof of a white van in the parking lot of her apartment building. 'They seemed to be taking a movie,' Maria said. The men were taking video or photos of themselves with the World Trade Center burning in the background, she said.

"What struck Maria were the expressions on the men's faces. 'They were like happy, you know They didn't look shocked to me. I thought it was very strange,' she said."

Even stranger it turned out the five were Israelis. When law enforcement swooped down on this crew, they found them in possession of $4,700 in cash, box cutters, and multiple foreign passports. Police dogs reacted as if the presence of explosives was indicated, and, as the Bergen County Record reported:

"Sources close to the investigation said they found other evidence linking the men to the bombing plot. 'There are maps of the city in the car with certain places highlighted,' the source said. 'It looked like they're hooked in with this. It looked like they knew what was going to happen when they were at Liberty State Park.'"

These guys were held for three months, much of the time in solitary confinement, and extensively interrogated. One refused to take a lie detector test for weeks, and then failed it. All five had been in the employ of Urban Moving Systems, of Weehawken, New Jersey, the company name on their van's registration.

Police raided the Urban Moving Systems warehouse 48 hours later, and carted away a lot of computer hard drives and other materials. The owner, one Dominik Suter, fled to Israel the next day. A few months later, Suter's name turned up on a list of terrorist suspects circulated by the FBI to European financial institutions.

The apprehended Israelis claimed that they were merely "documenting" the day's events: police confiscated their photographic equipment, and whatever film they had taken. The new film shows the World Trade Center burning from the Brooklyn side of the East River, while the Urban Movers were filming from the vantage point of Liberty State Park, across the Hudson River in New Jersey. But whomever had foreknowledge of the attack on the World Trade Center could have taken that film and Al Qaeda operatives are not the only possible suspects.

I have written at length about the five arrested Israelis in my new book, The Terror Enigma: 9/11 and the Israeli Connection, and I commend the attention of my readers to this modest little volume if they want to know more. I bring this up, not merely to plug my book, but to point out that we can't begin

Newt Gingrich was
never a true Republican. He was a media created Republican, a fact the
Young Turks knew when they went after him. From his very beginning as part
of the Futurist movement, through his congressional days when he was part of
many leftist organizations such as the Congressional Clearinghouse for the
Future, he was basically a New Age politician, which is why his popularity
remains high with the media. One might say there are three political
parties operating, Republican, Democrat and New Age which has members operating
under the Republican and Democratic labels. If one watches the
international political New Age agenda, there one will always find
Newt.

Saying The U.S. Went 'Off a
Cliff'NEW YORK, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- In an
exclusive interview with Newsweek, former House speaker Newt
Gingrich, a quiet confidant of Secretary of Defense Donald
Rumsfeld, says the U.S. went "off a cliff in Iraq." In the
December 15 issue (on newsstands Monday, Dec. 8), Gingrich
talks about the shortcomings of the Bush administration's
policy in Iraq, saying that "Americans can't win in Iraq.
Only Iraqis can win in Iraq."(snip)Gingrich, a
member of the influential Defense Policy Board, argues that
the administration has been putting far too much emphasis on
a military solution and slighting the political element,
report National Security Correspondent John Barry and
Assistant Managing Editor Evan Thomas. While he says he's
not speaking for the board, it is rare that one of its
members voices a dissenting view in public. "The Army's
reaction to Vietnam was not to think about it," he says.
Rather than absorb the lessons of counterinsurgency,
Gingrich says, the Army adopted "a deliberate strategy of
amnesia because people don't want to ever do it again." The
Army rebuilt a superb fighting force for waging a
conventional war. "I am very proud of what Tommy Franks did-up to the moment of

[CTRL] Maya - JFK Assassination?

2003-12-08 Thread John Miller
-Caveat Lector-

Maya  JFK Assassination?
According to the Warren Commission regarding the case of the JFK
assassination, President John F. Kennedy was killed by a single gunman. On
Friday, November 22nd 1963 at 12:30pm CST (Central Standard Time). The
President was riding in an open
limousine through Dallas, Texas and the President was shot in the head and neck by a
sniper. He was then taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced
dead. Later, police arrested Lee Harvey Oswald, a former U.S. Marine, at a
nearby theater. By the next morning, Oswald was booked for the murder of
President John F. Kennedy. Two days later, Oswald was killed by Jack Ruby, a
Dallas nightclub owner, while he was being moved from the city to the county
jail.
OK, countless words and many conspiracy theories surround the
assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
So to yet another conspiracy, where those who are following the Maya
Plan did organize and murder the 35th President of the United States of
America.
Now when I take the Maya unit at 3.4744 feet and decrease to 3.474400e-03
feet and squared once and reciprocated and divided into six parts it is
13,806.67548 days, and divided by 365.2420 days is 37.80144529 years.

And day 253, and divided by 365.2420 days + 2001 that is September 11th
2001.6926912.
And deduct from September 11th 2001 the 37.80144529 years is 1963.891246
and this is 1963 + 0.891246 years x 365.2420 days is 325.52047 days, that is
12:29:33pm Friday, November 22nd 1963.
So one could say a reasonable result for yet another contrived conspiracy
theory where the Maya Planners did it.
And of course I have no clue has to who such a nefarious group are.

Sad
JohnDM
PS
United States of Maya
OK, I am not into conspiracy
theories that much, but I do what I do most days, is to think about the day's
articles, items and letters. This often means a very different mixture to
consider each day, most of which are discarded. And I read that some
Elite are following the Maya Plan and a plan I can only guess at, like
suggesting it is to do with the New World Order as advertised on the Masonic
symbolized one dollar bill, and comes into effect on say December 21st -22nd
2012, the end the Mayas Age of the Jaguar after their Long Count of 1,872,000
days (13 periods of 144,000 days). And one equatorial revolution of the
Sun is 28.4 Earth days. And 2,840,000 days /Pi + 2,840,000 days is the Maya Long
Count at 1,872,000.038 + 1,872,000.038 days.And the truncated pyramid
shown not only the one dollar bill but also the Great Seal of the United States
of America, makes me think of the four triangular sides covering of the Great
Pyramid, that is the Shroud at 924,500 square feet.And so I have the
Sun day, which forms the Maya Long Count at 28.4 Earth days and multiplied by
the Shroud at 924,5000 square feet x Pi and /1,000,000 is the open sarcophagus
in the Kings Chamber of the Great Pyramid at 82.485028 cubic feet,
(Flinders-Petrie gives it as 82.48540 cubic feet a rather infinitesimal
difference of 0.00040 cubic feet, or difference in the height of the sarcophagus
of 41.31 inches compared to 41.30980 inches). So I say that it seems reasonable
that the Great Pyramid, once called Ta Khut the Light and clothed in some
144,000 white casing stones, and area related to the Suns time thus forms the
very number written into the volume of the open sarcophagus. And now to
show how the open sarcophagus is contrived in the area of the United States of
America. So to the map people Bancroft and Co who published their The New
Bancroft World Atlas and under the section United States of America (U.S.A)
and on the very first line of text writes the Federal Republic area 3,615,221
square miles. (And Washington D.C. is given as 69 square miles).So I
need to change the area of the United States as square miles into the Mayas
unit of 3.4744 feet (nearly 1.0590 meters). First I take one Sun day at
28.4 Earth days per revolution and increased to 2.84e+54 and /6 and square
root twice and divided /Pi is 8.349143004e+12 square Maya units.And then
I take the Shroud at 924,500 square feet and increase to 9.245e+50 x 2 and
square root is 4.3e+25 x 16 and square root and /Pi is 8.34919004e+12 square
Maya units. So the average area is 8.349166520e+12 square Maya units at
3.4744 feet per unit, is equivalent to 3,615,221.49 square miles, the area
published for that of the United States (+ 0.49 square miles). Imagine
that, the very important Maya people of Central America had a measurement rod
that can form and fashion Sun time and Pyramids covering out of the area of the
United States, which together offers up the number written into the volume of
the open sarcophagus in the Kings Chamber of the very same Pyramid.
Thus the United States Maya measurement-wise can be called the Land
of the Sarcophagus the Land of Death. So I suggest the Maya Plan
needs to be considered,

 Attention Deficit Drugs May Have Long-Term Effects

 Studies Suggest Impact on Growing Brains

 WASHINGTON (Dec. 8) - Drugs given to children to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder could have long-term effects on their growing brains, studies on rats suggest.
 Several studies published on Monday show that rats given a popular ADHD drug were less likely to want to use cocaine later in life, but also often acted clinically depressed and behaved differently from rats give dummy injections.
 While rats are different from humans, the studies suggest that doctors should watch children for long-term effects, too.
 In the United States between 3 percent and 5 percent of children are diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, marked by reduced ability to concentrate, difficulty in organizing and impulsive behavior.
 Patients are commonly prescribed stimulants but the practice is sometimes controversial.
 William Carlezon of McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston and colleagues raised two groups of rats. One was given Ritalin, known generically as methylphenidate, during the rat equivalent of pre-adolescence, while the other was given a salt water injection.
 When they matured, the rats were tested for "learned helplessness" -- how quickly they gave up on behavioral tasks under stress.
 "Rats exposed to Ritalin as juveniles showed large increases in learned-helplessness behavior during adulthood, suggesting a tendency toward depression," Carlezon said in a statement.
 But rats, which generally like cocaine, were less likely to eat it if they had been give Ritalin.
 Carlezon said he did not believe the effects were specific to Ritalin, made by Swiss drug giant Novartis. It could instead be a general effect of stimulant drugs, many of which act by increasing the activity of a key message-carrying chemical called dopamine.
 Higher dopamine levels could affect the way brain cells cement their connections during development, Carlezon wrote in the Dec. 15 issue of the journal Biological Psychiatry.
 A team at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas found that adult rats were less responsive to rewarding stimuli and reacted more to stress if they had been given methylphenidate as youngsters.
 A third study done by a team at Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School found changes in how dopamine neurons responded to methylphenidate.
 "These three studies remind us how limited our knowledge is of the neurochemical and functional characteristics of the human brain during childhood and adolescence and on the effects of psychotropic drugs on brain development," Dr. Thomas Insel, Director of the National Institute of Mental Health, wrote in a commentary.

(November 23, 2003) We are now stressing the upsurge in public holiday spending. Although it is down from several years ago, something is better than nothingemployment moved up a little but not enough to make much of a difference. It is generally agreed that we will downplay violence in Iraq over the holidays.

(November 26) There has been some speculation about the number of wounded in Iraq. The Pentagon will not release figures but the NY Times let the cat out of the bag. Somewhere around 10k and rising. Most will not come back stateside because of the uproar it will cause. They cant keep the poor bastards in Germany until after the elections but they will certainly try

(November 26) the Diebold case will not go away. It appears anyone with a high school education can break into their voting machines and change elections. My, what a surprise! And they are such good supporters of the Prez after all! Too much heat coming up on this subject so we can begin to explore it. It was too simple a solution for Herr Rove and his friends so they might have to find other avenues for reelection. They should get old Jeb to run the election. Even the dead would vote earlyand often.

(November 28) We are going to stress the AIDS situation in weeks to come. Poor Africa. Everyone dying there and not a penny from the Bushites. But if you believe the real WHO and CDC figures (not the pap served to the public) we are entering a brand new era of population control. Not only most of Central Africa but India, Bangladesh, PRC, about all of Mexico, Egypt and Russia are all doomed to lose at least half of their population. In Russia its drug use and in Africa, mass buggery but in the end (no pun here) they will all die just the same. Nothing can be done about it. Figures are rising in the US as well. The US is not going to pour tons of AIDS medicine to the sick of the world, even in spite of frantic lobbying on the part of the grossly fat drug industry to make even more money..

Remember, the boys kill the frogs for sport but the frogs die in earnest

Millegan,

From the instant you started hurling false
andlibelous accusations regarding conspiratorial plots to "besmirch" your
reputation and "hijack" cia-drugs, you destroyed what remained of your
credibility and wrecked the list.

The only plot to ruin you was in your
head, and in executing this plot, you succeeded admirably.

Brian Downing Quig, in the months before
his death, fingered you as a Cointelpro op. No amount of accusing others
of being Cointelpro ops is going to change that reality. Brian made the
accusation to too many people in too many messages, none of which were
forged.

I discouraged Brian from going down that
path, and defended you at the time, but given subsequent events, one begins to
wonder if he wasn't on to something.

I don't want to waste any more of my daily

Afghanistan's own opium wars
By Sudha Ramachandran

BANGALORE - The spurt in violence in Afghanistan in recent months has
generally been attributed to the resurgence of the Taliban and al-Qaeda.
However, aid workers in Afghanistan are saying that it is warlords with
connections to the production and trade of narcotics who are behind
many of the attacks.

The sharp rise in killings, say aid workers, coincides with the autumn
harvest of the poppy crop. Diane Johnston, country director for Mercy
Corps, told Associated Press security is worse in places where people are
growing poppies. Late last month, the European Union's envoy in
Afghanistan, Francesc Vendrell, warned that laboratories for producing
heroin that had been closed down by the Taliban were being set up again.

The heightened narcotics-related activity in Afghanistan is worrying not
only because of the surge in flow of heroin into markets abroad, but also
because of its implications for security in Afghanistan. There is a palpable
risk that Afghanistan will again turn into a failed state, this time in the
hands of drug cartels and narco-terrorists, wrote Antonio Maria Costa,
executive director of the UN anti- narcotics program. If energetic
interdiction measures are not undertaken now, the country's drug cancer
will metastasize into corruption, violence and terrorism, he pointed out.
This year's bumper poppy crop in Afghanistan seems to be financing a fresh
proliferation of weapons among the warlords.

Poppy cultivation touched a new high in Afghanistan this year. According
to the Afghanistan Opium Survey for 2003 brought out by the UN Office on
Drugs and Crime and the Afghan government, Afghanistan produced 3,600
tonnes of opium this year. In 2000, the country produced 3,276 tonnes of
opium. Under a ban imposed by the Taliban the next year, cultivation
plunged to 185 tonnes. In 2002, opium production shot up dramatically in
Afghanistan, rising higher this year. The White House Office of National
Drug Control Policy said last week that the area of poppy cultivation in
Afghanistan jumped to 61,000 hectares (150,000 acres) from 30,700
hectares last year and 1,685 hectares in 2001.

Afghanistan has the dubious distinction of being the world leader in opium
production, accounting for 75 percent of the world's poppy output. Opium
is cultivated in 28 of the country's 32 provinces. Poppy is the most
profitable crop in Afghanistan. Recent estimates suggest that Afghan
farmers make 38 times as much from opium as they can from wheat.
Although poppy cultivation is outlawed in Afghanistan, few seem to fear
the repercussions of defying the law. The income from poppy is far too
attractive to deter farmers, especially when one considers the alternative
to poppy - crops that do not yield adequate income to support families.
The temptation of poppy cultivation is simply too much.

Warlords and crime cartels control this lucrative industry. Poppy is refined
into heroin in illicit laboratories all over Afghanistan. Provincial
administrators and military commanders take a share of the profits as it is
transported through the provinces to the international market. The more
they get used to this, the less likely it becomes that they will respect the
law, be loyal to Kabul, Costa points out. Terrorists take a cut as well. The
longer this happens, the greater the threat to security within the country
and on its borders.

So serious is the threat posed by poppy cultivation and trafficking that a
recent UN Security Council mission to Afghanistan cited drug trafficking
alongside terrorism and factional warfare as the triple threats slowing
down the reconstruction process in that country. Briefing the Security
Council, German ambassador Gunter Pleuger, head of the

[CTRL] On Conservative Opposition to the Iraq War (Justin Raimondo)

2003-12-08 Thread Sean McBride
Title: Going AWOL, by Justin Raimondo
-Caveat Lector-

http://www.antiwar.com/justin/j120503.html

December 5, 2003

...
The troops are supported and empathized with: the policy, however, is
increasingly opposed by the overwhelming majority of the American people. A
whopping 71 percent say the Iraq war hasn't made them safer from
terrorism. Our men and women in uniform, by voting with their feet, are merely
reflecting the views of the fellows, who increasingly look on the war to
"liberate" Iraq as a pipe-dream founded on a lie.
While the War Party loves to point to the far-left "International ANSWER"
coalition, responsible for many of the rallies, as the heart and soul of the
antiwar opposition, the earliest and most effective opponents of this war were
senior military officers. The military wing of the antiwar opposition, like the
conservative-Old Right wing, has been less showy in its
opposition, yet potentially far more subversive of the War Party's policies.
People like General Anthony Zinni, retired Marine Colonel Larry Williams, former Navy secretary James Webb, retired Marine commander Joseph P. Hoar, and the most decorated soldier of the
Vietnam war era, Colonel David Hackworth – all opposed the war on the
grounds that an American occupation of Iraq would be a disaster.
The civilians who plumbed for an invasion didn't listen to them, nor did they
listen to General Eric Shinseki, former Army chief of staff, who warned that
they couldn't stitch Iraq back together again without 200,000 armed nation-builders. When Defense Secretary
Donald Rumsfeld heard this, he went ballistic: the Pentagon's neocon-in-chief, Paul Wolfowitz, made a point of
publicly attacking Shinseki's estimate as "wildly off the mark."
Now we are seeing the officers' rebellion against a policy of imperialism
taking shape in the ranks, as Army reservists, called up in record numbers, are
refusing to be coerced into returning to Iraq early.

My father told me that in the late sixities. He left the CIA in the 50's because of narcotics trafficking.

Because of the situation in Iraq, will there arise a clamor for either NATO or UN oversight? The Vietnam "War" was exploited by many folks in many ways, Connecticut arms manufacturers and the psy-war folks used in to create and nuture divisions among the populace, emotional idealogue drain-offs - both right and left. These guys know how to "play" war well ...

You really don't get it McFraud, but then your "persona" wouldn't be worth much if it did.

What "they" wish us to believe is really getting rather far-fetched and the majority are not buying and dissaffection is growing daily. I am sure there will be attempts to hijack and redirect and possibly massive "terrorist" strikes, especially the west coast, but they won't work. The culture far exceeds "their" ability to control. Bush, with his dumb bluster, has alienated most of the other nations in the world, including our most important traditional allies, so they have no interest in helping us.  They are probably richly enjoying Bush's comeuppance in Iraq, after enduring so many insults from him.  Bush threw away a tremendous treasure of good will towards America in a very few months -- it was an extraordinary performance in mismanagement, but not a surprising performance based on his track record.

 Donald Rumsfeld, who can see the handwriting on the wall, no fool he, is trying to distance himself from the fanatics in the Cheney group, using Gingrich as a mouthpiece.  There is a real split within the Republican Party over Mideast policy in general.  Many Republicans are beginning to realize just how unreliable and crazy the neocons are.  After the Iraq fiasco, we can probably now write off the grandiose schemes of the neocons for waging World War IV in five or six other Mideast nations.

 Dick Cheney is being set up by the media to take the fall for the whole mess -- this much is obvious.  Many of the neocons are now pretending that they had nothing to do with what went wrong.  It was all Cheney's fault, you see.  He made them do it.  And whatever you do, leave Israel out of it.

 Mideast experts, as opposed to Mideast ideologues, accurately predicted these outcomes before the war -- it was an easy call.

 I know you think the CFR has a centralized grip on everything.  It's a free country -- that's your privilege. :)  Keep the interesting conspiracy theories coming -- who knows, you might strike gold.

Kris,

I agree with your statement in the last
paragraph that theWar Party is growing desperate andmay stage acts
of terrorism to try to reignite war hysteria in the U.S. I've been
expecting that ever since 9/11.

What I have trouble believing is that
Rove, Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney went into the Iraq War with the certain
expectation of failing and being disgraced. Have I misunderstood your
argument here? Is that what you and Jim Rarey
believe?

When I look at the surpassing egos of
these four gentlemen, it is difficult for me to believe that they would
deliberately set themselves up to suffer public ruin. The experience of
that would be excruciatingly painful for them. This is where my sense of
psychological reality collides head on with some conspiracy
theories.

To believe that the Bush administration
went into the Iraq War knowing that it would lose, I would need to see some
convincing documentary proof. Speculation or theory alone wouldn't make
the case for me.

The Bush Success Story: A Global Tragedy in the Making

If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, it expects what never

I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me
and causes me to tremble for the safety of my
country…corporations have been enthroned and an era of
corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the
country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the
prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few
hands and the Republic is destroyed. – Abraham Lincoln

democratic, anti-worker, anti-environment neo-con
(neoconservative) agenda. Under the ruse of exporting
democracy and freedom, the neo-con agenda includes world
domination by military and economic means, replacing
democratic rule with dictatorial rule, exploiting labor and the
environment to the fullest, exporting American jobs overseas,
consolidating the media to reflect a single voice, eliminating
unions, driving wage rates and benefits ever lower, and
destroying all social programs.

woman's right to choose.

Americans by promoting the export of their jobs overseas and
hindering the rights of workers to form unions and receive
overtime pay. Under Bush economic policy well over one million
people have been added to the poverty rolls, about three million
have lost their jobs, over $2 trillion has been hijacked from
Social Security, the fifty states are under increasing pressure to
slash vital programs, over one million more people have lost
their health insurance (about 45 million in total), and economic
growth is the slowest in 50 years.

5.    Successfully wages a continuing war on the elderly

legislation that will begin privatizing Social Security in 2005. - Los
Angeles Times, November 30, 2003.

6.    Successfully ignores his promise to fight the spread
of global AIDS by failing to provide the necessary funding.
Meanwhile, 14 million people will die from AIDS next year.

7.   Successfully wages a continuing war on the
environment by dismantling sections of landmark environmental
legislation, including the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts and
supporting oil exploration in American wilderness areas.

8.   Successfully squanders the entire stock of global
empathy and goodwill that accrued to America following 9/11 by
invading Iraq under false pretenses, in violation of international
law, and without the approval of the United Nations.

9.    Successfully, and without provocation, preemptively
invaded Iraq without any exit strategy, a catastrophic planning
blunder that is now costing hundreds of American lives,
thousands of American casualties, thousands of Iraqi lives, and
hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars.

There is no doubt that Timothy McVeigh was under CIA mind control when he bombed the Alfred P. Murrah building 1995, in Oklahoma City (if he was actually the guilty person). We now know that Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating's brother, Martin Keating, wrote the manuscript of a novel in 1991 titled The Final Jihad, in which the terrorist who blew up a Federal building in OKC, was named "Tom McVey". Was this the script for the actual bombing that took place in 1995?
harrynote: Governor Frank Keating just happened to be the man who personally found the Ryder truck's rear axle and declared it to be from a truck bomb.

 African Union

The African Union was completed and signed into effect on July 11, 2000, by the 53 nations of Africa. This Union, like the European Union, has only one Peacekeeping force, one Central Bank, one Court of Justice, one currency, and so on. A carbon copy of the European Union.

American Union
The Elite plan to create the American Union by 2005. This will include all of the nations of North, Central and South America and the Caribbean Islands, and will function just like the present European Union, which was completed in the year 2000. There will be only one monetary system, one central bank, one (unelected) governing body, one military force, one judicial system, no borders, and no Constitution and Bill of Rights. The Elite have invented a new term for expanded NAFTA, which they now call the FTAA, or Free Trade Area of the Americas. The Council of the Americas, at the Quebec City conference in March, 2001, stated very clearly that they plan to complete the FTAA by the year 2005.
Vice President Dick Cheney was thanked for his remarks at the Council of the Americas conference on May 6, 2002, by founder and Honorary Chairman, David Rockefeller. Cheney said that the FTAA would be completed by January, 2005.
(Reference paragraph 18 of Cheney's speech at http://207.21.242.176/coa/events/2002-CheneySpeech.html and
Paragraph 12 of Otto Reich's speech at http://207.21.242.176/coa/events/2002-ReichSpeech.html)
Two years ago at the Quebec Summit of the Americas, our presidents and prime ministers committed themselves to creating, by January 2005, a free trade area that would create greater prosperity for nearly 800 million people in 34 countries of our hemisphere. (Colin L. Powell, U.S. Secretary of State, Council of the Americas Conference, April 28, 2003)
http://www.state.gov/secretary/rm/2003/20021.htm
It is obvious that they are really talking about the American Union which they plan to complete by January, 2005. That's less than two years away, my friends. Just when are you planning to get concerned?
The American Union follows the second step, the African Union, in the Elite's plan to control the entire world. Next will be the Asian Union, and the Soviet Union, all to be completed between the years 2010 and 2015. This is not my speculation, it's their stated plans, as detailed in a UN document titled "Our Global Neighborhood" (available in any bookstore, on special order). All nations of the world will be included in the Global Union, except those nations dominated by Islam. Perhaps that is why the Elite are planning wars against the Islamic nations.
```
FAKE ALIENS? - that's the plan.
The Hutton Inquiry: An Avoidance Tactic
By delving into minutiae at the Hutton Inquiry, and searching for a scapegoat to be responsible for Dr David Kelly's death, the British state avoided the real charge: the use of deception in taking Britain to war RTTHE HUTTON INQUIRY:AN AVOIDANCE TACTIC..Over in London, meanwhile, the recent Hutton inquiry allowed some notional insights into just what Blair and the faceless civil servants of death are capable of when it comes to asserting British corporate interests abroad, notably in support of arms and oil. In true Whitehall style, even this ‘free-ranging’ investigation looked more like the usual ‘gentlemen’s inquiry’. It was a sanitised sham which pored over every syllable and intonation of the BBC reporter Andrew Gilligan’s ‘45-minute’ account and looked for a scapegoat within the Ministry of Defence for David Kelly’s suicide. But the inquiry studiously avoided the real charge of deception by the British state and its
 wilful sanctioning of terror, including the dropping of cluster bombs on a defenceless people.
Web of deceit
We should not be misled by simplistic notions of Britain as some supposed poodle in this and other imperial adventures. Readers in any doubt about what I’m saying here should find themselves a copy of Mark Curtis’s brilliant exposé, Web of Deceit: Britain’s Real Role in the World. They might then better understand what this secretive, authoritarian regime has been up to, not just in its past colonial exploits, but in spreading poverty, misery and death around the globe today. They can be in the guise of an ‘ethical foreign policy’, which arms dictators and supports other repressive regimes. Or it can be in the form of an active lead in asserting neoliberal condition-alities on poor developing countries under the pretext of a caring aid agenda.
Drawing on recently declassified documents, Curtis shows that the level of British scheming and brutality on behalf of colonial business in, for example, Malaya, Kenya, Iran, British Guiana (now Guyana) and Indonesia was much more serious than previously realised.
Likewise, he brings us up to date with some of the UK’s more recent interventions, such as the supply of Hawk jets and other instruments of death to Indonesia, thus allowing its Kopassus special forces to carry out their repression in East Timor, West Papua and Aceh.
Alongside this are the non-interventions, such as Britain’s lead in seeking the removal of vital UN peace-keeping forces in Rwanda, a strategy which on-the-ground NGOs and key military personnel specifically link to the ensuing genocide and deaths of a million people.
Single-ideology totalitarian state
And if Malaysians are rightly sick and tired of what passes for critical enquiry in their own media, they might like to reflect on the British media. Despite the supposed standard-bearing independence of the press here, barely a single word of criticism was offered in the mainstream or ‘qualities’ over Britain’s complicity in the Rwandan slaughter.
In the face of intense public hostility, the media’s view of Blair’s recent Iraq actions may have been more searching, but the rationalisations and veiled apologias are no less apparent. It is a mark of the sustained and entrenched notion of liberal democracy in the West, a set of ideals variously filtered through the mainstream and liberal media, that most people could not possibly countenance the idea of Blair as a war criminal.
Yet, Curtis, among others, comes to this and similar sober conclusions in describing Britain as “a single-ideology totalitarian state”. This was evident in the past orchestration of the coup against Sukarno and connivance in the murder of thousands of innocent Indonesians. More recently, the military ‘liberations’ in Afghanistan and
We
would drive a Winnebago, equipped with a standard diesel engine, on a
cross-country trek fueled by leftover vegetable oil from fast food
restaurants. We would turn the McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chickens
of America into a chain of low-cost gas stations
A Bit of History
Rudolf
Diesel shocked reputable scientists and inventors at the 1900 World's
Fair in Paris by pouring peanut oil directly into his newly unveiled
diesel engine. While at the time revolutionary, no idea could have been
more natural for an innovator who had spent his childhood in the
agricultural provinces of France and Germany. Throughout his career,
Diesel promoted the benefits of agricultural fuel. In a speech given in
Germany in 1911, he declared, "The diesel engine can be fed with
vegetable oils and would help considerably in the development of
agriculture of the countries which use it."
Two years
later, Diesel was on a trip across the English Channel when he
disappeared. Mysteriously, his body was never found. The English
newspapers suggested that he had been assassinated by foreign agents.
After
Diesel's death, the idea of fueling engines with vegetable oil was
quickly and quietly swept under the rug. His original designs were
modified and diesel engines were made to run on the cheapest, most
abundant fuel available: petroleum.
It wasn't
until the oil crisis of the 1970s that the idea of using vegetable oil
as an engine fuel was again given serious thought. There was, however,
a key obstacle: vegetable oil is too thick to use directly in modern
diesel engine fuel injection systems.
Not to be
dissuaded, university researchers in the United States and Europe set
to work on the problem, eventually devising three practicable
solutions: 1) mix the vegetable oil with a lighter fuel such as
kerosene, 2) heat the vegetable oil before it gets to the fuel
injection system, and 3) chemically "crack" the vegetable oil molecule
to make it smaller. Since the chemical process used to crack the
vegetable oil is simple, reliable and inexpensive, it became the method
of choice for producing biodiesel fuel.
Why
Biodiesel?
Biodiesel is
easily made from vegetable oil, alcohol and a catalyst, through a
process called transesterification. The only by-product is glycerin,
which can be used to make soap or any one of thousands of other
products. Biodiesel can be used in any diesel engine and burns 75%
cleaner than petroleum diesel fuel. It can be made from any vegetable
oil, including soy, canola, sunflower, hemp, coconut and even used
cooking oils or animal fat. It is highly lubricating, which actually
makes it better for diesel engines than diesel fuel. But the best thing
about biodiesel is that it requires absolutely no engine modifications.
To use it, you just pour it into the fuel tank. It even mixes with
regular petroleum diesel fuel.
The
Veggie Van is Born
Determined
to "fill 'er up" at America's fast food restaurants, we embarked on
what turned out to be a frustrating search for an inexpensive, small
diesel motor home. At first, we found nothing even close to our price
range. But just when it had begun to look hopeless, we happened upon an
unimpressive, white 1986 Winnebago LeSharo. It has a small, two-liter
diesel engine and gets 25 miles per gallon. The perfect model!
Back at
IS FREEMASONRY AFRAID OF ITS OWN SHADOW?
By JAY KINNEY - Posted by permission
[Return to the table of contents]
Masonry's Love/Hate Relationship with Esoteric Traditions
Is Freemasonry Afraid of its own Shadow? is the title of this
paper. Now, some of you are probably wondering exactly what shadow
I'm referring to. Am I suggesting that Masons are like groundhogs who
pop out of their holes once a year, see their shadows, and dive back
down for another six weeks of winter? Well, not exactly.
The great psychologist Carl Jung coined the term, the Shadow, to
refer to those parts of each person's psyche and personality that
they are ashamed of or embarrassed by. Those things in the Shadow are
not necessarily bad - they may just be under-developed or unaccepted
parts of our beings. 1 But most of us prefer to push them into the
Shadow so that we don't have to think about them. And we usually hope
that by keeping them out of sight and mind, others will ignore them
too.
But you know, the Shadow is a funny thing. Sometimes those parts of
ourselves that we've tried so hard to ignore are glaringly obvious to
our friends - or our enemies. They end up being those things that our
friends tease us about unmercifully.
Carl Jung was of the opinion that we'd be a lot less neurotic and
self-defeating if we brought our Shadows into the light of
consciousness and acknowledged them. Sometimes, in fact, we'd find
that our Shadows were like missing pieces of a puzzle - that once
they found their proper places, we'd be rewarded with a sense of
wholeness and completion that had been previously lacking.
How might this apply to Freemasonry? Human organizations often
function like a collective personality or a group psyche with its own
Shadow - which consists of those things that we seldom discuss,
whether out of embarrassment or confusion or discomfort.
But since our rituals remind us that we seek more light, I'd like
to propose that we shine some light on one aspect of Masonry's
Shadow - its Love/Hate relationship to esoteric traditions. This
conflicted relationship dates back to the beginnings of Speculative
Masonry, but it also has a contemporary impact on how others see
Masonry and how we see ourselves.
ESOTERIC TRADITIONS AND FREEMASONRY
Esoteric, like the term occult, has a common meaning of something
hidden or obscure. It is often used to refer to knowledge or
teachings that are restricted to a special circle of initiates. Thus
Masonry sometimes refers to the esoteric portions of its rituals,
which means the signs, tokens, and words that are not supposed to be
written down, even in a cipher book.
However, esoteric can also refer to an inner meaning or the essence
of a religion or a body of wisdom. This can be something as simple as
when Jesus talked about the spirit of the Law, in contrast to the
letter of the Law. Or it can be something as complex as a system of
mystical practices that promises to help one draw closer to God.
For instance, the mystical system of Kabbalah is sometimes called
esoteric Judaism, just as the mystical teachings of Sufism are
sometimes called esoteric Islam. Similarly, Yoga is sometimes
considered esoteric Hinduism, and so forth.
The esoteric traditions, with which Masonry has had its conflicted
Love/Hate relationship, include:
the Kabbalah;
Rosicrucianism - which is a kind of esoteric Christianity;
Sacred Geometry and Sacred Architecture;
Hermeticism - which has its roots in ancient Greece and Egypt; and
Alchemy - which was actually much more than just an attempt to turn
Lead into Gold.
Unfortunately, we don't have space in this paper to delve into the
specifics of these rather arcane traditions. 2 Instead, I will focus
the
So you hold hostage history to your perceived realities of four guys ego's.  Was it their ego's that got them there or a powerful cabal that plays to the house for the house?
 To believe that the Bush administration went into the Iraq War knowing that it would lose, I would need to see some convincing documentary proof.  Speculation or theory alone wouldn't make the case for me.
So what documentary "proof" do you have for your conspiracy theory.
TURTLE BAY DISPATCH
The U.N.'s Dirty Little Secret
The international body refuses to condemn anti-Semitism.
BY ANNE BAYEFSKY
Monday, December 8, 2003 12:01 a.m. EST
Last week, the U.N. once again proved itself incapable of rising to the moral
challenges embraced in its founding Charter: tolerance, the dignity and worth of
the human person and equal rights. A draft resolution on anti-Semitism--which would
have been a first in the U.N.'s 58-year history--was withdrawn in the face of Arab and
Muslim opposition.
Daily incidents of anti-Semitic violence around the globe are reported in the media.
Yet while leaders of the Free World condemn synagogue bombings in Turkey, firebombings
of Jewish schools in France, and the hate speech of Malaysia's president who now heads
the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the U.N. moves in the opposite direction,
encouraging the proliferation of this centuries-old hatred.
In marked contrast, other forms of intolerance continue to consume the U.N.'s
attention and resources. A special rapporteur mandated by the U.N. Commission on Human
Rights reports regularly to the U.N. on discrimination against Muslims and Arab
peoples in various parts of the world including any physical assaults and attacks
against their places of worship, cultural centers, businesses and properties. An
entire 2003 Commission resolution combating defamation of religions, mentions only
prejudice against Muslims, Arabs and Islam.
Condemnation of anti-Semitism--which ought to be axiomatic--engenders controversy and
intransigence at the U.N. At this year's General Assembly, Ireland asssumed the role
of gatekeeper, slamming the door in the face of a resolution to protect Jewish
victims. Ireland has shepherded resolutions on religious intolerance through U.N.
bodies for nearly 20 years without introducing anti-Semitism. In mid-November current
events prompted demands in the Irish Parliament for an explanation of this omission
from Foreign Minister Brian Cowen. The shabby excuse offered at that time was to
sacrifice Jewish rights on the U.N.'s alter of consensus and a wide level of
co-sponsorship.
In plain language, to Ireland, Arab and Muslim opposition to condemning anti-Semitism
meant . . . cut and run! Irish unwillingness or inability to stand up for principle at
a time when it is assuming the Presidency of the European Union, does little to
enhance the credibility of either the U.N. or the EU as honest brokers in the Middle
East peace process.
The behind-the-scenes story of this Machiavellian plot involves an Irish breach of a
deal struck between Foreign Minister Cowen and Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom
only two weeks ago. Israel agreed to drop efforts to include anti-Semitism in the
religious intolerance resolution in exchange for a promise from Ireland to introduce a
new resolution specifically on anti-Semitism. But after the General Assembly's Third
Committee adopted the resolution on religious intolerance minus any reference to
anti-Semitism, Ireland refused to carry out its side of the bargain.
From the common era to the modern age, genocidal persecution of Jews has been
justified by whichever label has served the perpetrator's interests: Religion, race,
ethnic origin or nationality have all functioned, at one time or another as grounds
for anti-Semitism. Ironically, the U.N. today can find none of these grounds
sufficient to launch the vital campaign required to prevent the atrocities this
hatred inspires. Instead, U.N. diplomats use the multiplicity of alleged Jewish
crimes to place anti-Semitism between the stools. When the U.N. passed a major treaty
on racial discrimination in 1965, they omitted anti-Semitism on the grounds that it
was out of place. Yet, a matching treaty on religious intolerance, promised by the
General Assembly in 1962, was never acted upon.
Now, Mr. Cowen and company are claiming that anti-Semitism is, indeed, a matter of
racial discrimination rendering it unsuitable for the resolution on religious
intolerance. This self-serving reversal has been perversely justified in the name of
the U.N.'s infamous 2001 Durban Racism Conference, which actually served as a platform
for
2003-12-08 Thread Jim Rarey
-Caveat Lector-
Sean,
Kris observed, "Public pronouncements are meant
to deceive." He is absolutely on
target. My problem with most of your posts is that you insist we take the public
pronouncements of these characters at face value.
My comment on Newt Gingrich was to point out a tactic the CFR crowd uses
over and over. That is to obtain the leadership of both groups in important
disputes. Where was Gingrich when the Iraq war resolution was going through
congress? Was he distracted by the sniper coverage as was most of the nation?
Now Gingrich acts like he wants to be a leader of the anti-war movement.
Another prime example of this tactic is George Soros. He is not just
another member of the CFR, he sits on its board of directors. Now he is trying
to buy the leadership of the "anti-Bush" crowd. Where was Soros when the CFR was
putting Bush into office?
The "good" cops like Gingrich and Soros (and Wesley Clark) don't appear on
the scene until it is obvious there is significant public opinion against the
"bad cops."
We see the same tactic used in the environmental movement with the NWO
crowd taking over groups like the Sierra Club, and the Nature Conservancy while
CFR member Mikhail Gorbachev starts up Green Cross.
\It's like a football game where one team is ripping off gains of fifteen
yards a play by sending the fullback straight up the middle. They are going to
keep doing it until the defense shows it can stop it.
Spare us the public pronouncements of the CFR and NWO crowd. The only thing
you can surmise from them is that is what they want us to believe. On rare
occasions it might even be the truth
Have you ever read the Secret Treaty of Fort Hunt?
When I look at the surpassing egos of these four
  gentlemen, it is difficult for me to believe that they would deliberately set
  themselves up to suffer public ruin. The experience of that would be
  excruciatingly painful for them. This is where my sense of psychological
  reality collides head on with some conspiracy theories.So you hold hostage history to your perceived
realities of four guys ego's. Was it their ego's that got them there or a
powerful cabal that plays to the house for the house?
To believe that the Bush administration went into the
  Iraq War knowing that it would lose, I would need to see some convincing
  documentary proof. Speculation or theory alone wouldn't make the case
  for me.So what documentary "proof" do you have for
your conspiracy theory. Peace, OmK
 No.  Where do I find it?  Prudy
It may be on the net, I have posted it before. It is available from prevailing Winds and is in my book, Fleshing Out Skull  Bones. It is the deep story of Nazi  Richard Gehlen and our "treaty" with him as a German national after WWII. It was first published in Covert Action Quarterly and is written by Carl Oglesby.
Millegan,
From the instant you started hurling false and libelous accusations regarding conspiratorial plots to "besmirch" your reputation and "hijack" cia-drugs, you destroyed what remained of your credibility and wrecked the list.
Here you got trying to spread rumours about me by lying and trying to make me look "paranoid." I have only accused three personas of involvement in the use of forged emails. Please prove me wrong. My credibilty is fine and just because the CIA-Drugs list is not filled with your boilerplate BS anymore hasn't "wrecked the list." Quite the contrary, the list is more focused and is very productive in its topic area with a wider participation.
The only plot to ruin you was in your head, and in executing this plot, you succeeded admirably.
Again, you disparage me with no evidence. You are just cutting and running ... as you have done several times before.
Brian Downing Quig, in the months before his death, fingered you as a Cointelpro op. No amount of accusing others of being Cointelpro ops is going to change that reality. Brian made the accusation to too many people in too many messages, none of which were forged.
So now, your "According to reliable sources" turns out to be the late Brian Quig. You truly have no shame. Hiding behind your false name spreading lies and using Brian's death as part of your actions. Please post your post from Brian accuse me of being a COINTELPRO agent. Notice you never post any proof just more smears and innuendos.
I am working from known and recognized facts - the emails, according to many who knew and spoke with Brian, were forged both by content and presentation. You have even accused me of forging them. There is the fact that in the second purported email was only "received" by you, Eastman and webfairy, three other very real people who were cc'd didnt receive the same said missive. It is a fact that you have been caught before inflating "evidence." It is a fact that you use rhetorical and technical devices used in cointelpro activities.
I discouraged Brian from going down that path, and defended you at the time, but given subsequent events, one begins to wonder if he wasn't on to something.
Oh, you are so noble, really jibes with your on-screen pronouncements at the time ... not.
Why should we even begin to believe BS from some anonymous snipe.
I don't want to waste any more of my daily message quota on this inane topic. There are too many important developments happening out there in the real world to discuss.
Cut and running, couldn't resist some more subtle jibes, eh?
If anyone has any questions about this controversy, feel free to contact me in private email, and I will explain what is going on.
Yes, you will, explain in private, wouldn't lie to anybody now ... with nobody watching now would ya? Gee, seems kinda like cointelpro, now doesn't it.
It's impossible to carry on a useful discussion with this kind of neurotic verbal abuse mucking up the works.
So cute, McFraud, sometimes I am this big agent in some wild conspiracy theory other times I am just a dumb, nuerotic. McFraud, if you notice, my story doesn't change. And it was backed up by several real people. Who backs you up?
Sniping, cutting and running is what McFraud does best though.
(Part II: http://www.davesweb.cnchost.com/nwsltr46.html)
[Reader response to this series of newsletters has been decidedly mixed.
Some of you have written to offer thanks. Others have wondered, as did
one recent letter writer, why I am so distracted by this obvious
distraction. To those readers, I pose the following question: Do you
honestly believe that court proceedings that successfully erased the
line between crime and 'terrorism,' establishing the legal precedent
that domestic criminals can be labeled 'terrorists' and treated
accordingly, is just a distraction? Or have you perhaps mistaken John
Allen Muhammad for Michael Jackson?]
The legendary Bushmaster rifle was purportedly found behind the hinged
rear seat of the Snipermobile, but there are lingering questions about
exactly how, and when, ownership of that weapon transferred from
Bullseye Shooter Supply to John Allen Muhammad. Since that rifle has
been referred to as the most important silent witness in this case,
those questions are begging for answers -- answers that were not
provided by any of the evidence introduced by the state.
When investigators recovered the rifle, it was loaded and the safety was
disengaged, but whoever had loaded it and disengaged the safety had done
so without leaving prints on the weapon. Muhammad's prints were not
found on either the rifle or the detached telescopic sight. Charles
Colman of the BATFE claimed that Malvo's prints were lifted from the
rifle, but those prints were from a position on the gun inconsistent
with him having loaded or fired it.
Brendan Shea, a DNA expert for the FBI, testified that although
Muhammad's fingerprints were not found on the rifle, his DNA was.
According to Shea, Muhammad's DNA was likely on the rifle's scope as
well. That isn't surprising, I suppose, since Muhammad appears to have
left his DNA everywhere; according to the L.A. Times, Muhammad's DNA
was recovered at several murder scenes [according to] law enforcement
technicians.
Media reports made little mention of the purported DNA evidence. No
explanation was given for how Muhammad managed to carelessly leave his
DNA scattered over crime scenes. There is no indication that
investigators recovered any blood, saliva or other bodily fluids. None
of Muhammad's hairs were recovered. So where did the alleged DNA come
from? Was Muhammad some sort of modern-day Johnny Appleseed who happily
sprinkled individual strands of his DNA wherever he went?
Malvo allegedly left a hair behind, at a location where artifacts of a
crime were found. The bank bags that had been stolen from victim Paul
LaRuffa were, not unlike the handgun in Alabama, discovered a full month
after the crime was committed. Along with the bags was, inexplicably, a
shirt that contained the hair. The hair was not on the bank bags
themselves, mind you, but on the shirt that was with the bags ... the
shirt that was with the bags that were found, oddly enough, in the woods
directly behind the law offices of Virginia State Senator Thomas V.
Miller.
Investigators discovered that a notch had been cut in the trunk of the
Snipermobile, and that notch, together with the hinged rear seat,
constituted what police creatively described as a mobile
ATISHOO! ATISHOO!
WE ALL FALL DOWN?
   Is
the flu such a dreaded disease?
steven ransom
There have been many instances over recent years that show how governments
and media oulets are adept at creating unnecessary mass anxiety over
disease. With the news that UK supermarket Asda (Walmart subsidiary) is now
offering the flu jab on-site to its customers (at the bargain price of
97 as opposed to the normal 00), readers are strongly encouraged to
acquaint themselves with the tawdry, unethical nature of today so-called
lu protectionogrammes, before rolling up their sleeves.
FLU! SUCH A DREADED DISEASE?
We can all remember the headlines over the last few winters: iller Flu On
The Way!ew Super Flu Heading for the UK.ritain Braces Itself for an
Epidemic.r several years now, every UK newspaper at one time or another
has led with graphic accounts of a flu plague threatening to engulf Britain.
Take this frenzied headline from The Sunday Mirror, as far back as the 28th
September, 1997:
MILLIONS AT RISK FROM KILLER FLU - Doctors are preparing for a massive
outbreak of killer flu this winter. Millions of people are expected to die
worldwide as a new strain of super-bug sweeps the globe. And with 10 million
people in a high-risk category in Britain, the Government has already
alerted hospitals - and mortuaries - to the threat. A detailed document sets
out how the health service will cope with arge numbers of people ill and
dyingd includes mortuary arrangements for a large number of deaths.
And the result? No flu pandemic. The lack of any flu plague anywhere across
the globe has not brought a halt to these iller fluont page specials.
If anything, the inane headlines are increasing in frequency and intensity.
Take the following ealth scoopom USA Today, dated December 3rd 2003:
The warning sirens are screaming: A deadly, contagious strain of flu will
emerge, possibly soon, flu experts say, and the world is not ready to deal
with it. he world will be in deep trouble if the impending influenza
pandemic strikes this week, this month, or even this year,ite
international flu experts Richard Webby and Robert Webster of St. Jude
Children Research Hospital in Memphis.
And this latest from the UK Daily Express, dated 23rd October 2003: Killer
flu hits Britain. Alarmed Health experts warned all doctors that high-risk
categories e elderly and those with heart problems ould be
vaccinated. The mutant virus has swept through Australia where it is blamed
for thousands of deaths in the worst flu outbreak for five years.
But with no flu outbreaks ever emerging and the death rates in these
stories, as we shall discover, always wildly exaggerated, just where were
all these headlines coming from? Credence Publications has been following
the flu headlines for a number of years now. Predictably, these flu
editorials have been nothing more than a pharmaceutical sales pitch. In
short, they are a complete scam. It was the following report from the BBC,
that prompted our initial investigation into the matter:
he number of those catching the flu bug has risen by more than 80% in just
seven days and hospitals and ambulance services are bracing themselves for a
further tide of emergency admissions and deaths. Provisional figures
released on Wednesday by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP)
showed the first large rise in cases in the south as the virus spreads from
the North and the Midlands. As the Emergency Bed Service issued a warning
that hospitals may run out of beds, it emerged on Wednesday that a second
Norfolk hospital is using a refrigerated lorry trailer to act as a standby
mortuary.]
ah ha finally admission to what we suspected
Joint Task Force Told Face to Face, Blackout was a
Military Test
Oliver J. Midelson
At an under publicized public comment meeting, which
was publicly 'announced' by a Department of Energy
news release, Michael Kane outlined his report,
published at Global Free Press, stating that the
August 14th blackout was part and parcel to a
multi-faceted military test. The Task Force was very
attentive, attempting to take notes as fast as Michael
spoke.
His comments can be heard in Windows Media player
format (now playing). They were the last comments made
to the panel.
It was a snowy Friday afternoon in Manhattan and very
few people showed up. Both Forbes and the Akron Beacon
Journal left out Michael's comments in their
coverage of the New York pubic comment meeting. Once
again the mainstream media completely fails the
public, and Global Free Press is the only publication
brave enough to run the real coverage of this
so-called 'public' comment meeting. How public can it
be if no one reports it? The New Media such as GFP,
FTW, INN, SGTV, and many more are proving to be our
only salvation.
Michael made the only interesting comments given the
entire day with the exception of Carole Dortch-Wright,
who spoke on behalf of New Jersey Governor James
McGreevey. The NY Times, who had a reporter present at
this meeting, seem to have provided no coverage in
their Saturday edition. For the record, I personally
saw Michael's report handed to the NY Times reporter.
Hopefully they are saving it for their Sunday edition,
but I won't hold my breath.
Very few people showed up to the public comment
meeting in Cleveland, Ohio on December 4th, prompting
Rep. Dennis Kucinich and four other members of
Congress to accuse the D.O.E. of failing to adequately
notify the public, according to the Akron Beacon
Journal
The first point Michael made was that the Task Force
Interim Report failed to address the possibility of
Electro Magnetic Pulses causing the blackout. He noted
that it is known HAARP was turned on at 4pm on August
14th, just 11 minutes before the blackout occurred. He
stated the Air Force should be contacted and required
to turn over all documentation pertaining to what
HAARP was used for on that day.
Michael detailed the aerial aerosol spray operation he
witnessed the night of the blackout, as well as
referencing the proximity of the Determined Promise
'03 national military drills announced just one day
after the blackout. He also mentioned he received a
report that the Canadian border was militarized at 1pm
on August 14th, just three hours before the blackout,
in the Mohawk River Valley region. Why?
Joint Task Force Told Face to Face, Blackout was a
Military Test
Dr. Nawal Kamel appeared to be pleased to hear Mr.
Kane's comments, as he was the only person who
appealed to the Task Force as a citizen void of any
special interest. In addition to this, Senior Policy
Advisor James Glotfelty was nodding his head up and
down as Michael began to speak of PD-16.
Wayne Madsen has revealed National Security
Presidential Directive 16 (PD-16) gave the president
authority to wage cyber-warfare against other
countries, including bringing down their power grids.
Michael pointed out we do not know if any elements of
PD-16 pertain to North America.
He continued by referencing Tommy Franks' recent
comments in Cigar Aficionado. General Franks' stated
if another terrorist attack occurs in America, the
Constitution would be scrapped for a military
government. Visibly upset by this outrageous
statement, Michael put down his prepared statement and
made a much-needed comparison to the current
'independent' commission to
[CTRL] Fw: Butler verdict perplexes
2003-12-08 Thread Jim Rarey
-Caveat Lector-
Why were the smuggling charges dropped? Here is the reason. First reports
were:
Dr. Butler is also charged with shipping plague samples without the
proper permits and illegally bringing the samples back from Tanzania.
He had driven samples in his car to two federal
laboratories: an office of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in
Fort Collins, Colo., and the Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious
Diseases in Maryland.
They got Butler to say he detroyed the samples because they didn't want to
talk about where they really went in open court. Now why would our biowarfare
guys at CDC and Fort Detrick want an African strain of the plague?
Butler verdict perplexes
Scientists' reactions vary, but most want more information following partial
guilty finding | By John Dudley
Miller
While several prominent scientists who have publicly supported Thomas
Butler—the Texas Tech professor found guilty
last week of fraud and improper shipping of plague—believe his acquittal on
charges of smuggling and lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is a
vindication the renowned researcher's essential innocence, at least a few
researchers think his convictions prove his partial guilt. Several refuse to
comment.
But what nearly all who spoke to The Scientist agree on is that so
little detailed information about the case has been communicated to the public
that it's impossible to know exactly what Butler did. “The thing that many of us
are at this time suffering from is we just do not understand what in heavens
name went on,” said D.A. Henderson, a professor in the University of Pittsburgh's
new Center for Civilian Biodefense Strategies. “This is what we find very
frustrating,” he said.
On December 2, a jury in Lubbock, Texas, found the Texas Tech professor not
guilty of smuggling plague specimens into the United States and then lying to
the FBI that 30 vials of them were missing when he knew he had destroyed them.
Of the original 15 counts, he was convicted only of improperly shipping a plague
sample back to Tanzania, where he has conducting research.
However, the same jury also convicted Butler on 44 of 54 counts of defrauding
Texas Tech in a totally unrelated matter. The jury agreed that the “shadow”
contracts he signed with two drug companies illegally gave him part of the
payments the school would otherwise have received for his services. The jury
found him not guilty of evading taxes on those payments.
Butler reportedly reacted positively to the split verdict. “He's happy that
the main charges of lying and spreading plague [resulted in acquittals],” said
William Greenough, a university professor and former colleague of Butler's who
spoke to him the morning after the jury returned the verdicts.
“I'd say he's much more upbeat,” Greenough said. Butler plans to appeal the
fraud convictions, Greenough said, on the grounds “that the charges between him
and the university on the finances are really an internal matter based on what
his university's regulations are for consultancy fees and overhead.”
When a reported 60 FBI agents descended on Butler's Texas Tech lab on January
14, they interrogated him over 2 continuous days, letting him go home for only 2
hours in between. Butler eventually signed a statement saying he had destroyed
the 30 vials before he reported them missing. He later recanted that confession,
claiming the FBI had promised him that if he would sign it, they would close the
case and let him go free.
As a result, several scientists and scientific organizations have come out in
support
of Butler, protesting the government's tactics. Such organizations have
claimed that his prosecution will have a “chilling effect” on bioterrorism
research, leading new researchers not to get into the field.
But last week, Ronald Atlas, former president of the American Society for
Microbiology, disagreed. “At this point, I have not seen evidence that would
support the notion that the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Select
Agent Security] regulations are having a chilling impact,” the University of
Louisville professor wrote The Scientist in an E-mail interview. “My
experience is that rooms at meetings concerning biodefense research funding are
filled (overfilled).”
Furthermore, Atlas suggested that scientists' support for and mere interest
in Butler's situation may be much weaker than news stories about his supporters
might otherwise indicate. “I have not experienced any great outpouring of
concern nor necessarily awareness of the issues,” he said.
Stanley Falkow, professor of microbiology and immunology and of medicine at
Stanford University, said the government's tactic of adding on
the unrelated fraud charges 8 months later upsets him. “I'm not sure that
this will calm anyone's fears,” he wrote in an E-mail interview, “certainly not
mine.”
Jim,
I never believe in taking public pronouncements at face value. I'm
always looking for solid documentation that contradicts or undercuts public
pronouncements.
That Newt Gingrich, Wesley Clark and others are political
opportunistswho can reverse their positions at the drop of a hat due to
changing circumstances is obvious. I don't dispute that.
What I was questioning was the thesis that the Bush administration went
into the Iraq War with the deliberate intention of losing it, as part of a
pre-planned CFR Hegelian dialectic of some kind. To support that thesis, I
would need to see some evidence. Rove, Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld are not
gentlemen who like to lose or look like losers in the public eye.
Smart Republicans have begun to realize that the Iraq War is a mess and a
political disaster. They are rapidly repositioning themselves to
accommodate that reality. The really smart Republicans opposed the war in
the first place.
I also agree that the CFR, at the top,is enormously powerful, and
tries to control all sides of every argument in both major parties. This
doesn't mean that the CFR manipulated a scheme to deliberately lose the
war. No doubt, however, the CFR is quick on its feet in adjusting to the
reality of the loss of the war. Bush, for the CFR, is perfectly
disposable, as is any president. The CFR as a whole always seems to land
on its feet, regardless of what happens. It was cunningly designed that
way.
  Sean,
  Kris observed, "Public pronouncements are
  meant to deceive." He is absolutely
  on target. My problem with most of your posts is that you insist we take the
  public pronouncements of these characters at face value.
  My comment on Newt Gingrich was to point out a tactic the CFR crowd uses
  over and over. That is to obtain the leadership of both groups in important
  disputes. Where was Gingrich when the Iraq war resolution was going through
  congress? Was he distracted by the sniper coverage as was most of the nation?
  Now Gingrich acts like he wants to be a leader of the anti-war movement.
  Another prime example of this tactic is George Soros. He is not just
  another member of the CFR, he sits on its board of directors. Now he is trying
  to buy the leadership of the "anti-Bush" crowd. Where was Soros when the CFR
  was putting Bush into office?
  The "good" cops like Gingrich and Soros (and Wesley Clark) don't appear
  on the scene until it is obvious there is significant public opinion against
  the "bad cops."
  We see the same tactic used in the environmental movement with the NWO
  crowd taking over groups like the Sierra Club, and the Nature Conservancy
  while CFR member Mikhail Gorbachev starts up Green Cross.
  \It's like a football game where one team is ripping off gains of fifteen
  yards a play by sending the fullback straight up the middle. They are going to
  keep doing it until the defense shows it can stop it.
  Spare us the public pronouncements of the CFR and NWO crowd. The only
  thing you can surmise from them is that is what they want us to believe. On
  rare occasions it might even be the truth
Israel trains US assassination
squads in Iraq
Israeli advisers are helping train
US special forces in aggressive counter-insurgency operations in Iraq, including
the use of assassination squads against guerrilla leaders, US intelligence and
military sources said yesterday.
The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) has sent urban warfare specialists to Fort
Bragg in North Carolina, the home of US special forces, and according to two
sources, Israeli military "consultants" have also visited Iraq.
US forces in Iraq's Sunni triangle have already begun to use tactics that
echo Israeli operations in the occupied territories, sealing off centres of
resistance with razor wire and razing buildings from where attacks have been
launched against US troops.
But the secret war in Iraq is about to get much tougher, in the hope of
suppressing the Ba'athist-led insurgency ahead of next November's presidential
elections.
US special forces teams are already behind the lines inside Syria attempting
to kill foreign jihadists before they cross the border, and a group focused on
the "neutralisation" of guerrilla leaders is being set up, according to sources
familiar with the operations.
"This is basically an assassination programme. That is what is being
conceptualised here. This is a hunter-killer team," said a former senior US
intelligence official, who added that he feared the new tactics and enhanced
cooperation with Israel would only inflame a volatile situation in the Middle
East.
"It is bonkers, insane. Here we are - we're already being compared to Sharon
in the Arab world, and we've just confirmed it by bringing in the Israelis and
setting up assassination teams."
"They are being trained by Israelis in Fort Bragg," a well-informed
intelligence source in Washington said.
"Some Israelis went to Iraq as well, not to do training, but for providing
consultations."
The consultants' visit to Iraq was confirmed by another US source who was in
contact with American officials there.
The Pentagon did not return calls seeking comment, but a military planner,
Brigadier General Michael Vane, mentioned the cooperation with Israel in a
letter to Army magazine in July about the Iraq counter-insurgency campaign.
"We recently travelled to Israel to glean lessons learned from their
counterterrorist operations in urban areas," wrote General Vane, deputy chief of
staff at the army's training and doctrine command.
An Israeli official said the IDF regularly shared its experience in the West
Bank and Gaza with the US armed forces, but said he could not comment about
cooperation in Iraq.
"When we do activities, the US military attaches in Tel Aviv are interested.
I assume it's the same as the British. That's the way allies work. The special
forces come to our people and say, do debrief on an operation we have done," the
official said.
"Does it affect Iraq? It's not in our interest or the American interest or in
anyone's interest to go into that. It would just fit in with jihadist
prejudices."
Colonel Ralph Peters, a former army intelligence officer and a critic of
Pentagon policy in Iraq, said yesterday there was nothing wrong with learning
lessons wherever possible.
"When we turn to anyone for insights, it doesn't mean we blindly accept it,"
Col Peters said. "But I think what you're seeing is a new realism. The American
tendency is to try to win all the hearts and minds. In Iraq, there are just some
hearts and minds you can't win. Within the bounds of human rights, if you do
make an example of certain villages it gets the attention of the others, and
attacks have gone down in the area."
The new counter-insurgency unit made up of elite troops being put together in
the Pentagon is called Task Force 121, New Yorker magazine reported in
yesterday's edition.
One of the planners behind the offensive is a highly controversial figure,
whose role is likely to inflame Muslim opinion: Lieutenant General William
"Jerry" Boykin.
In October, there were calls for his resignation after he told a church
congregation in Oregon that the US was at war with Satan, who "wants to destroy
us as a Christian army".
"He's been promoted a rank above his abilities," he said. "Some generals are
pretty good on battlefield but are disastrous nearer the source of power."
[CTRL] U.S. Adopts New Tactics in Iraq Guerrilla War
U.S. Adopts New Tactics in Iraq Guerrilla War
 Monday, December 08, 2003 3:31 p.m. ET
By Charles Aldinger
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. military has adopted tough new tactics
against guerrillas in Iraq, arresting relatives of insurgents and destroying
houses used to plan attacks against American troops, defense officials said on
Monday.
But the officials denied the move
was modeled on hard-nosed tactics used by Israeli forces in Gaza and the West
Bank, despite visits by U.S. military officers to Israel this year to discuss
urban combat with Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
"In recent weeks, we have begun using a much-increased tempo of taking the
fight to remnants of the former regime to prevent them from planning and
carrying out attacks on our people," one of the U.S. defense officials, who
asked not to be identified, told Reuters.
"This is new in that we are engaging (attacking) buildings for two reasons -
if we find they were used to plan or launch strikes against our forces, or if we
have information that arms were being made or kept there for attacks," the
official added.
Another confirmed a New York Times report that some family members of
guerrillas wanted by the military were being arrested. But he said it was not a
pressure tactic to coerce insurgents to surrender.
"We don't do kidnapping. We are arresting relatives if it becomes known that
they are coordinating with those high-value targets that we are seeking, or if
they have information where fugitives are holding out," the official said.
The Times reported from Iraq that at least one whole Iraqi village had been
surrounded by razor wire as part of the crackdown, forcing residents to enter
and leave through an American military checkpoint. That is similar to isolation
tactics used by Israel in its war with insurgents.
ADVICE FROM ISRAEL ON URBAN TACTICS
Brig. Gen. Michael Vane, a senior officer in the U.S. Army's Doctrine and
Training Command, said in a letter to Army magazine in July that American
officers had gone to Israel to discuss urban combat and intelligence with the
IDF.
"Although there is much work to be done, it is inaccurate to characterize our
thinking and doctrine on urban warfare as anachronistic. Experience continues to
teach us many lessons, and we continue to evaluate and incorporate them
appropriately into our concepts, doctrine and training," wrote Vane.
"For example, we recently traveled to Israel to glean lessons learned from
their counterterrorist operations in urban areas," added the general, deputy
chief of staff for doctrine concepts and strategy.
"There is a fair amount of military intellectual discussion that goes on
between the U.S. Army and the IDF," Harvey Perritt, a spokesman for the training
command, told Reuters on Monday. He said Vane was apparently referring to a
visit to Israel in January, months before the Iraq War began.
Pentagon officials cautioned against drawing any direct parallel between
Israeli tactics against guerrillas on the West Bank and the new U.S. moves in
Iraq.
"We made this decision to adopt a much more aggressive stance based on the
conditions at hand, not on what is going on elsewhere," said one official.
In one recent incident, the U.S. military used a bulldozer last week to knock
down the front wall of a small compound owned by an elderly couple in the Iraqi
village of Hawija west of Kirkuk after troops found a large cache of explosives
in the house.
An order was at first given to completely destroy the house, but an American
officer later relented.
One soldier told reporters the threat to destroy the house had been a ruse to
make the elderly woman provide information.
