Io ho installati linux-image-amd64 e linux-headers-amd64 che dipendono
dall'ultima versione del kernel e degli header

/etc/apt/sources.list con i riferimenti alla nuova versione

Risposta breve (e raccomandata):
man apt
man apt-get
man apt_preferences

Risposta lunga (ma incompleta):
sia full-upgrade che upgrade installano i pacchetti della distribuzione
successiva *SE* essa e` presente in /etc/apt/sources.list e *SE NON* c'e`
qualche regola in /etc/apt/preferences che lo impedisce.

La differenza e` che upgrade non installa nuovi pacchetti: se hai
installato:

linux-image-amd64 5.10.140-1 
che dipende da linux-image-5.10.0-18-amd64

e c'e` un aggiornamento a:

linux-image-amd64 5.10.149-2   <- aggiornamento
che dipende da linux-image-5.10.0-19-amd64 <- nuovo pacchetto

upgrade non aggiorna  linux-image-amd64 perche` dovrebbe installare un
pacchetto nuovo.

Hi all

I've synced index.wml, but I couldn't update /intro/index.wml because
the last changes affect the text, and I don't know Italian.

If any of you have time, please checkout the new-homepage branch again,
make a "git pull" to be sure you get the last version of the files, and
try to sync /intro/index.wml

When I merge the new-homepage branch into master (in 1h or so)
I'll CC this list, so people work in master instead.

è vero, i pacchetto sono firmati dai DD e hanno anche il controllo per 
il checksum.


Però quando è uscita la versione https era indicato di usare questa per 
evitare dei possibili tipi di attacco, ora non ricordo né quali fossero 
né dove avevo letto, ma provo ad improvvisare:

* l'attaccante scopre un bug su debsums o sul check della firma o ...
* l'attaccante si intromette nella trasmissione tramite la tecnica del 
"Man in The Middle" e ti cambia quanto stai scaricando
* il sistema in automatico effettua i vari controlli e operazioni viene 
sfruttato il bug dall'attaccante


Inoltre ti viene sì indicato che il pacchetto non è firmato o non è 
firmato da qualcuno "autorizzato", ma poi ti viene chiesto se vuoi 
continuare comunque... e sono sicuro che utenti meno esperti potrebbero 
dire sì, senza aver compreso quello che gli viene chiesto. Questo perché 
sono sicuri che stanno prendendo dei pacchetti dai repository ufficiali...

Grazie Davide. Ho copiato la lista di repository "stable" trovati nel manual, 
pagina dei repostitories stable, che hai suggerito con il link.Adesso sembra 
tutti ok... ho già fatto un'aggiornamento!Per ora, mi sembra tutto bene. 
Condivido il tuo dubbio sul http - https. Non so perchè Debian utilizza questo

non-free, però io consiglierei di mantenere la sequenza che trovi su 
 
tutti i manuali.
 

 
Guardando sull'hand book trovi al paragrafo
 
"6.1.2. Repositories for Stable Users" quali sono i repository per Buster

attenzione che installando software non presente nei repository 
ufficiali di Debian è possibile che vengano creati file in

/etc/apt/sources.list.d

i repository non ufficiali potrebbero causare problemi di 
malfunzionamento, soprattutto se contengono anche librerie che 
potrebbero essere sostituite a quelle ufficiali.


Ti consiglio di controllare in quella directory se c'è qualcosa, al 
massimo segnala qui in lista che file trovi e il loro contenuto

Possibile errore di traduzione in update-alternatives

oggi aggiornando il sistema (testing) mi è comparso questo avvertimento:

update-alternatives: attenzione: viene forzata l'installazione
dell'alternativa /usr/bin/bibtex.original poiché il gruppo bibtex è
danneggiato
update-alternatives: attenzione: /usr/share/man/man1/bibtex.1.gz non
viene sostituito con un collegamento

Provando a reinstallare il pacchetto colpevole (per la cronaca:
texlive-binaries) ma stavolta in modo che le risposte fossero in
inglese, il messaggio diventa:

update-alternatives: warning: forcing reinstallation of alternative
/usr/bin/bibtex.original because link group bibtex is broken
update-alternatives: warning: not replacing
/usr/share/man/man1/bibtex.1.gz with a link

Confrontando i due messaggi si vede che ad essere danneggiato è il "link
group" e non un generico "gruppo" come dice la traduzione italiana. La
cosa può confondere l'utente (io ad esempio non ho capito subito che per
"gruppo" non si intende un oggetto definito in /etc/group).

Non essendo un grosso esperto di update-alternatives, non saprei come
tradurre meglio "link group", ma mi sembra comunque da segnalare.

[risolto]: php-cli e altro morti dopo update

risolto: è capitato che un programma (non dal repository originale) avesse 
depositato una sua libreria dinamica non nella sua directory ma in /lib.
quando c'è stato un aggiornamento che ha toccato le librerie ldconfig ha 
fatto il suo lavoro e ha messo questa libreria tra quelle disponibili, col 
risultato che qui programmi che la usavano se ne sono trovata una diversa 
e andavano in crash. tolta la libreria e ridato ldconfig è andato quasi 
tutto a posto (e quel programma ricompilato con libreria statica).

A parte che non ho idea come disabilitare i moduli (php -n non funziona 
ugualmente) ho da dire tre cose molto importanti:

1. php è preso da sury
2. in una macchina identica ha dato lo stesso risultato (blocco di exim e
di TUTTE le versioni 7.x di php (mentre 5.6 continua a funzionare
3. exim4-daemon-heavy ne è affetto, la version light no ...

php-cli e altro morti dopo update

Ieri su una macchina stretch ho fatto gli aggiornamenti di sicurezza.
dopo gli aggiornamenti exim4 e php hanno smesso di funzionare e ritornano 
segfault.
Ho provato a reinstallare exim4-daemon-heavy ma da errore, dicendo che il 
file autofingured è difettoso )anche se a occhio sembra giusto).
Unico modo di ripartire è stato exim-daemon-light ma anche questo solo 
dopo un purge compelto e anche lí non ha configurato.

ho doputo fare un dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config manualmente

Hanno cominciato a arrivare messggi di errore (prima non arrivavano causa 
exim4 non funzionante) dicendo che uno script php non funziona.


vado a vedere e php da segfault.
sia php7.0 che php7.3 (php 5 invece va, ma gli script sono incompatibili)

php7.3 su apache però funziona.

Idee su come rimediare???

purtroppo non posso esserti di aiuto, perché, è appunto dal 2000 che
non ho una macchina in dualboot, e nessuna macchina con winzoz
installato.

non è una soluzione testata in questa casistica specifica, ma io 
proverei così:
- partire con DVD o Penna usb bootable di Win8.1 (credo vada bene anche 
Win10, non mi risulta vi siano state "novità" sul bootloader)


- quando richiesto al primo step dell'installazione scegliere 
"ripristina il computer"


- scegliere l'opzione per ripristinare il bootloader.
Chiaramente sparirà grub, almeno per il momento

- Avviare una volta Windows
Aprire un cmd, digitare

powercfg -h off

- Aprire regedit e portarsi alla chiave
HK_LOCAL_Machine:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power"

Modificare il valore
"HiberbootEnabled" Impostandolo come DWord e valore 0

Chiudere regedit, e in cmd dare il comando
shutdown -s -t 0

In questo modo viene effettuato lo shutdown effettivo SENZA ibernazione 
così come da ora in poi tutte le volte successive.


- Servendosi di una live, ripristinare il grub che questa volta dovrebbe 
vedere entrambi i sistemi operativi

Nel link Intel che hai indicato il processore é marcato come 
"discontinued" nel campo "status". Quindi penso sia fuori produzione.

Quello che mi stupisce é il rifiuto degli altri marchi di approfittare 
di questo momento di estrema debolezza di Intel.

Questo potrebbe essere un momento d'oro per IBM PowerPC o per AMD, e 
invece sono tutti silenziosi. Puó darsi che il problema sia molto piú 
grande di quello che si é capito fino ad ora.

Ho il dubbio che investa gli ultimi 10 anni di teoria e architettura dei 
processori.

Sono curioso di vedere da dove ripartiranno i nuovi processori che 
avranno risolto il problema.

Per quelli "abbandonati" il motivo ufficiale va da "risidegnare la micro 
architettura della CPU è impossibile o non ne vale lo sforzo" a "è una 
CPU vecchia e gli utenti dicono che non ne hanno bisogno"[2]


Il mio processore, del PC principale, è nella lista dei soppressi... e 
io ne ho bisogno...


Bisognerebbe organizzare un invio di mail di massa per far sapere che ci 
sono utenti con idee diverse da quelle da loro pubblicate

Ciao Giacomo,

i file .po dei debconf si possono più facilmente scaricare dalla
pagina web corrispondente oppure si può lavorare su quello mandato in
lista dal manutentore del pacchetto.

Tradurre con un editor di testo normale (senza addon appositi) è
sconsigliato anche a chi conosce bene i file .po (a parte piccole
modifiche). Si rischia di rendere il file non valido. Ci sono
programmi appositi anche in Debian: poedit, virtaal, gtranslator

Non hai fatto alcun casino. Solo un po' troppo entusiasmo :)

C'è molto da tradurre, qualcosina da imparare per farlo. Un'altra
mano fa sempre piacere. Un aiuto in più fa sempre comodo, la lista è
silenziosa, ma c'è.

Come ho detto se vuoi prenderti in carico questo non c'è
problema. Eventualmente fammi sapere cosa decidi.

Altrimenti puoi guardare nell'elenco qualche altro debconf
senza padrone, provare un programma per traduzioni che ti torni
comodo, mandare la traduzione per la revisione in lista ... e così
via.

Un'altra opzione per iniziare è aiutare con le traduzioni delle
descrizioni dei pacchetti, tramite il sistema DDTSS.

As stated in the first email I had no idea of what I was doing,
I only recently joined the wonderful world of open source(~ 2yrs)
software as a "leecher" and wanted to give back some to the communities
that are behind my favourite projects(with Debian being THE project).
So I ventured straight into a Google search and searched literally "how
can I help Debian?", one of the first answers that you get is https://w
ww.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/l10n.html , so I went
straight into the "September 2017" mailing list archive and saw his
email asking for help, then I made a huge mistake: seeing the first
mail's date(2 Sep 2017) and that it was not yet answered I went
directly to ejabberd VCS copied the master branch .po file and started
to edit it using a simple text editor(Vim), I've used sed to replace
the Last Translator field thinking that it was like "Last commit for
this particular file" and then added my name at the top because I seen
in other places the habit to put the translators inside a MAINTAINERS
file or directly at the top of the file being modified.
So I edited it, and sent to the list thinking that the translation was
not already assigned "8.3.1 How to help the translation effort" told me
to check but probably seeing the original mail unanswered made me think
that it was lacking a contributor.
Sorry guys for the disturbance caused, I will try to be more
considerate in the future.

come promesso un secondo messaggio per spiegare alcuni dettagli.

Incidentalmente, mi accorgo solo ora che comunque il messaggio che hai
mandato prima non aveva Philipp tra i destinatari, come non lo ha il
mio in inglese dato che ho fatto un "rispondi a tutti" senza

Come ho detto (in inglese) è buona norma controllare che una
traduzione non sia già assegnata a qualcuno prima di lavorarci.

Incidentalmente questa è assegnata a me. Non avrei nulla in contrario
a cederti questa, ma la traduzione che hai inviato ha alcuni errori e
deve essere prima revisionata. Comunque in futuro prima di lavorare ad
una traduzione altrui, chiedi se chi è l'attuale traduttore vuole
continuare ad occuparsene. Si evitano così spiacevoli incidenti e
soprattutto lavori doppi, perché se chi ne è il "legittimo
proprietario" nel frattempo ci lavora tu rimani con lavoro doppio
fatto per niente.

padrone a cui si può lavorare.

Per quanto riguarda la tua traduzione, non so se sei partito dal file
.po già parzialmente tradotto (l'ultimo che avevo inviato io e quello
inviato da Philipp); mi sembra di sì.

Di seguito trovi la mia revisione. Se ti vuoi prendere in carico la
traduzione di consiglio di fare le correzioni e poi inviare comunque il
file per la revisione sulla mailing list con messaggio RFR
(https://www.debian.org/international/l10n/pseudo-urls) con oggetto
"RFR po-debconf://package-name/it.po

Aspettare eventuali revisioni, inviare la traduzione in un bug report
su ejabberd con priorità wishlist, tag l10n e patch (come indicato
nella pagina sulle traduzioni dei debconf) . Una volta ottenuto il
numero di bug, inviare in lista il messaggio BTS (vedi pseudo-url di
prima). Se guardi negli archivi della lista puoi vedere nei vecchi
messaggi degli esempi.

NOn so se hai usato un programma per file .po. La parentesi va
rimossa. Era presente nel vecchio messaggio (quello che inizia con un
carattere di commento). Nel messaggio aggiornato la parentesi non c'è
quindi va tolta anche dalla traduzione.
In italiano direi  hostname -> nome host (era così).

italiano non si dà mai del tu (tranne poche eccezioni) all'utente. Si usa 
l'impersonale o, se proprio non si può, si usa il "voi".

Philipp, I am the current translator of this debconf and I would ask
to wait to include this translation until a proper review is
made. Thanks

Giacomo, as you can see from the original request of Philipp this file
already had a designated translator (me in this case, incidentally).

The correct process is to find a translation who currently has no
translator. Moreover any translation should be submitted for review in
the Italian mailing list. Your file for instance has some minor
errors.

The correct procedure is also after the translation is reviewed to
send it as a bug report to the corresponding package.

ejabberd 17.08-1: Please update debconf PO translation for the package ejabberd

the translations for the ejabberd package in your language are incomplete.
New templates have been added and existing ones have been changed.
Now several messages are marked "fuzzy" in your translation and others are
missing completely.
I would be grateful if you could take the time and update it.
Please send the updated file to me, or submit it as a wishlist bug
against ejabberd.

I will update the package as I receive updated translations, so there is no
deadline.
If you are aware of my previous request a few days ago, this one
supersedes it. I have updated/removed invalid email addresses for the last
known translators and l10n teams.

sara' mica quel problema di RAM di cui si e' gia' parlato settimana fa?

Con la testing alcuni sistemi si bloccavano a meno di ridurre la frequenza 
della RAM nel bios.
Non so se lo stesso problema puo' avere raggiunto la stable con il nuovo kernel.

Instabilità stable con ultimo update del kernel

Questa sera aggiorno il mio secondo portatile (non lo facevo da tempo) e monto 
l'ultimo update del kernel di stable. 

Riavvio e...  macchina in freeze dopo 2 minuti (esattamente come mi accadeva 
sul portatile ibm prima del rollback alla versione precedente). 

La differenza è che questo è un portatile HP (un vecchio ed onesto portatile 
della serie nc2400). 

Sui server (decine) monto il kernel in questione e non ho alcun problema. 
Ci sono elementi comuni tra le macchine?  Bho fatto sta che con il kernel 
precedente sono perfettamente stabili. 

Ma sono solo io ad avere problemi? O è  qualcosa che uso (su entrambi i 
sistemi)  che fa casino con il nuovo kernel di stable?

ihihihi, ai bimbi viene insegnato che e' pericoloso prendere cose da

non avevo notato questo.
Sembra che da un lato fa il calcolo sha1sum (SHA-1) e poi lo confronta 
con sha256, che è SHA-2

Non me ne ero accorto perché ho tutto in uno script che faccio partire 
per fare aggiornamento sistema e subito dopo cose varie tra cui 
l'apt-file update...



e poi mi scarica il file completo invece del diff.

Quello che ho visto guardando i bug è che la versione 3.0 ne dovrebbe 
risolvere parecchi. Però non mi sembra di aver visto nulla relativo 
all'errore indicato.

Ieri è stata portata in Experimental la 3.0~exp1...

da qualche giorno, dando "apt-file update" ricevo il seguente errore:

e poi mi scarica il file completo invece del diff.

Già provato a cancellare i file in /var/cache/apt/apt-file senza
risolvere: dopo la prima volta l'errore si ripresenta.
