Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !
Guido - another idea just came to my mind: Is this only happening when you use the playback feature and have some Radio stream running (if so: what stream ?) [slim] last.fm loved tracks
I use last.fm from a browser on my laptop at work and add tracks that I like as loved tracks. I also have quite a large library of music on my whs server at home running squeezebox server that I play through my ipad/iphone (ipeng) and squeezebox receiver. What I would like to do is create a playlist of my loved tracks in squeezbox server but only the ones I actually have locally (hope that makes sense). I can export loved tracks from last.fm in a xspf format (xml) which is supported my squeezebox server but I don't see how this will "know" where my local files are on the server (and indeed it doesn't). I guess I need something that will parse the xspf file and create a playlist for squeezebox based on matches. Ideally I would love something that keeps these two in sync automatically but I'll settle for a manual process. [slim] UK Stock?
In addition to the question about Boom stock, what's going on? The screen on my controller has broken, purchased through amazon, they've said they'll refund as they have no stock of the Duet. Curry's and PCworld have the boom for £70 and the Duet for £120 so figured great, can buy both with the money but they have no stock. I guess people buying them up to sell on ebay? But it seems that most places are out of stock of both the boom and the duet? What's going on? major shortage? end of line for both items? Re: [slim] UK Stock?
I hope they don't waste their time on a Duet MKII. The Touch is better than the Receiver in all respects (except size and price, but IMO that's not nearly enough to weigh up for all the other limitations), and the Controller isn't all that great when you compare it to all the other options, for example Droid+SC. Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...
here's the scenario: Traveling around campus, or town, coming in and out of Wifi/3g areas (our cable ISP also runs lots of WiFi in the area, and my Droid is configured to autoconnect to it.) If I disable WiFi and have my Droid only connecting with 3G, it will normally just keep working when it's in 3G range. If I'm in Wifi and don't drop it it also works. But if it changes, SqueezePlayer acts like it's still connected but SqueezeCommander (for instance, but really my server) doesn't see the player anymore. I have to manually turn off and on music playback in SqueezePlayer to get it back. Ideally, there'd be a way for SqueezePlayer to do connection monitoring and reestablish if the network shifts (and if it happens quickly enough not interrupt music playback, but that depends on caching, network speed, and how long the phone takes to renegotiate connections). At the very least it should reconnect as soon as possible and restart music playback (probably dependent on player settings). -- mrfantasy --Mike http://last.fm/user/mrfantasy mrfantasy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1127 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87364 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Mhmm - I'd think it would do that already as when moving one connection will be dropped (already by Android), SqueezePlayer will get an error code and will try to reconnect in 5 seconds. If then only the other connection type is available it will/should take it. So for some reason I think Android is not closing the connection correctly. What Android version are you using? Will try tonight to reproduce it somehow (but will be difficult as running around in my flat is in full WiFi range :D ) Keeping the stream playing won't work, as the download stream gets dropped and if I reastablish it, I will get the next song already. Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Squidget - A SqueezeBox Widget for Android
I see some weirdness with regard to the player list. Sporadically, when I press the player icon, Squidget reports "No items to display" instead of the player list. If I immediately press the player button again, it usually finds and displays the players. This has happened 3-4 times during the last couple of days. Last night, when I turned to Squidget, it was displaying a laptop as a player icon, although I only had a few regular Squeezeboxes of various types connected to the server (i.e. no iPeng or Squeezeplayer). When I pressed the player icon, it reported "No items to display". When I pressed it again, I could choose among the connected players. I started Squeezecommander to search for a song and started playing it. When I then went back to Squidget, it was again displaying the laptop icon. Unfortunately I didn't think of looking at what player name Squidget was displaying at the time. -- strindberg strindberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11265 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86993 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

This should simulated quite good a normal lost WiFi network (?!) - Android needs 1-2 seconds to realize that WiFi is lost and removes the WiFi icon. SqueezePlayer shows a short 'no network', followed by a '3G connecting ...' (In my case I have not port forwarding set up, so it won't connect) - WiFi returns, Android sets up WiFi connection, SqueezePlayer reconnects via WiFi. I guess the first three steps should be the same for you - and I don't have a better idea how to simulate leaving the WiFi area to make Android switch to 3G. But as expected SqueezePlayer realized that it's connection is lost and tries to reconnect (via whatever network channel Android has set up). I'm not sure how the last one will behave for you, but my understanding is, that Android only supports one connection type at a time, so it might be the same for you, if your Android decides to drop the 3G connection in favor of WiFi. -- bluegaspode Big Screen for great Boxes available now at your AppStore: *'Squeezebox + iPad = SqueezePad ' (www.squeezepad.com)* - -now featuring streaming to iPad!- Want to see a Weather Forecast on your Radio/Touch/Controller ? => why not try my 'Weather Forecast Applet' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73827) Want to use the Headphones with your Controller ? => why not try my 'Headphone Switcher Applet' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67139) Setup: 1x SB-Controller+Receiver (Duet), 1xSB-Boom. 2xSB-Radio Server (7.5.x) running on SheevaPlug (Ubuntu) with attached Western Digital MyBook Essential. bluegaspode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31651 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87364 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Two issues here: 1. When Squidget finds it is not connected to the server during players retrieval, there is a bug showing no items instead of telling you its not connected. Will fix in coming release. 2. The default player icon is a laptop. This means that when Squidget loses connection, and while re-establishing one, it will default to that icon, allowing you to have a button to press on in the meantime. Not ideal solution (even a confusing one) but I'm open to suggestions.
