Exchange 2007 iPhone 3GS
Hi all, I've read all the previous posts about iPhones with Exchange 2007. My question is very simple and please don't laugh: How do I set it up? I am the Exchange Administrator, so I guess I should know. But I've only ever administered Exchange with BlackBerry devices. So I don't know. I would appreciate a nudge in the right direction. And not just a link to lmgtfy.com! Thanks in advance, Andrew
RE: Exchange 2007 iPhone 3GS
No advice for Exchange 2007, but we had one heck of a time setting it up for Exchange 2003. Still can't send attachments from the iPhone without using a 3rd party app. I've heard that integration with 2007 is better, but we're not quite there yet. On a related note, a lot of the people that had iPhones turned them back in and went back to the Blackberry. I will let you know that Apple Tech Support is less than useless and Microsoft is somewhat unwilling to help on problems with rival manufacturers. Good luck and may God have mercy on your soul. -Paul From: Andrew Levicki [mailto:and...@levicki.me.uk] Sent: Friday, November 27, 2009 5:28 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Exchange 2007 iPhone 3GS Hi all, I've read all the previous posts about iPhones with Exchange 2007. I am supporting them on 2003, I have no issues sending attachments? I used the enterprise deployment tool to create a downloadable profile with the cert, was trivial... jlc From: Maglinger, Paul [mailto:pmaglin...@scvl.com] Sent: Friday, November 27, 2009 5:24 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Exchange 2007 iPhone 3GS No advice for Exchange 2007, but we had one heck of a time setting it up for Exchange 2003. Blocking an IP
How can I block an IP address from connecting to my 08 exchange server? I see a dynamic IP out of Turkey trying to ASMTP with my server and I would like to block it. RE: Blocking an IP
James, You should be able to block it at your firewall. However, if it is a dynamic address, it will change, so, if you do not have any worries about blocking anything from that part of the world, you can simply block the whole range the ISP has. \\Steve// From: James Kerr [mailto:cluster...@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, November 27, 2009 1:25 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Blocking an IP How can I block an IP address from connecting to my 08 exchange server? Andrew: We have a few iPhones on our network, and had no problem configuring them; the best advice I can give to you, is Test your Exchange Server at http://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com The tools there will help you in determining what parts are not working correctly and how to fix them. Re: Blocking an IP
Hallo James, Steve is right, your goal can be achieved at the firewall / router. Also, Windows Server 2003 would have helped you with TCP/IP filtering. Assuming you can't or don't want to do either, your other option is to modify your receive connectors. EMC Server Config Hub / Edge Transport Receive Connectors In the Network tab you can set the Receive mail from remote servers that have these IP addresses setting. I hope this helps you in your quest for perfection. Regards, Andrew 2009/11/27 Steve Szabo steve...@gmail.com James, You should be able to block it at your firewall.
