But is there another way?

For this, you must be use method loadSound of Sound class
The method loadSound can't do loop in streamed mp3

You can use onSoundComplete to start your music again ...

var som:Sound = new Sound();
som.loadSound("file.mp3", true);
som.start();
som.onSoundComplete = function() {
   som.start();
}

i dont know if this is correct code , but works fine here ...

Hi, List!

This is totally crazy!
Can anyone confirm that ExternalInterface is working in WIN 9,0,16,0 FP and
Firefox/1.5.0.7 ?

I am trying to execute an example from the manual. It's working OK in IE
But nothing happens in FF.

According to manual "null" will be returned if the call failed.
I think it's some kind of new security restriction or something.

Any chance for working emplementation?

F1 !!

ExternalInterface is supported in the following combinations of browser
and operating system:

Browser

Operating System

Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher

Windows

Netscape 8.0 and higher

Windows

Macintosh

Mozilla 1.7.5 and higher

Windows

ExternalInterface requires the user's web browser to support either

scripting. See http://www.mozilla.org/projects/plugins/npruntime.html.

I can post data using Ruby's Net::HTTP and it works great in a rails
app. I want to do the same thing in Flash.

LoadVars.send will only work if I load the script's URL into the
browser. This would be fine if I controlled the script, but it's on
another application server. I need to pass it the data in the
background. I tried .sendAndLoad, but that has the same problems.

Is there a simple way to do this? Can I use flash remoting and pass
the data to a PHP script and make the post from there? I see there
is a way to do this with Cold Fusion using the CF.http() method, so
I assume there is something similar elsewhere.

thanks.

But how do you tell if the data is actually done loading? I mean for
example, i have a field that loads a jpg in, and since the jpg takes a
little longer, the scroll bars account for the text, but not hte
image. And if I call redraw right after I call the data to be loaded,
it seems to still be too soon.

if you are using loadMovie to load images, forget
Use MovieClipLoader Class, and set scroll target after load image,
the class allow that you do this

ex:

var obj:Object = new Object();
obj.onLoadInit = function() {
   scroll.setScrollTarget(your_textfield);
}
var mcl:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
mcl.addListener(obj);
mcl.loadClip("image.jpg", yourMovieClipTarget);

Hi - I have had a few times where I need to call the redraw() function
to recreate my scrollbars after the data is loaded
But I obviously need to wait until the data is completed. The times I
seem to have the issues is when loading something that takes a bit
longer (IE an image or something after a returned record set) into say
an html text field (with a scroll bar) or something into a scroller pane.

Is there something that makes this a little easier? Or is it the type
of thing where I need to do some sort of setInterval

Thanks!
