[Flexradio] Odd signal while TX using CWX

2011-01-29 Thread Mario Aviles
Hi Group:

I just noticed that when I TX on CW using CWX on PowerSDR Beta 2.0.16 I get the
CW peak on the correct TX freq but I also see a signal on the PANAFALL which is
about 40db and 3 KHZ wide. Could this be that I am getting a signal from
another AF source. Which setup button should I change to get the common gauss
curve which peaks at the TX freq?

Re: [Flexradio] Odd signal while TX using CWX

2011-01-29 Thread Mario Aviles

Hi David:

Thank you for your response. I disconnected all mics from the radio and I
still get 3 khz wide constant signal and the CW peak on the TX freq.
I guess there is another signal source which I cannot locate. BTW, VAC is
off

Hi Mario

...And if you talk into your microphone it will appear as though you are
modulating SSB.

I found that by disconnecting the mic while in CW will stop any movement
on the panadaptor while in CW TX mode.

Dave

Re: [Flexradio] Flex3000 No SWR Reading?

2010-02-14 Thread Mario Aviles

Hi All:

My 5000A does the same thing, I remember asking this same question when I
first noticed this and was told this is OK, not to worry. Try using the
TUNE button and set the meter to SWR, then you´ll see the correct SWR
reading.

Hi All,

I've finally got my brand new Flex3000 on air and have to say I am very

The filtering on CW is truly amazing!

So my first real question to the group :)

Flex3000
PSDR v1.18.5
FW Driver v3.5.0.7171
F3K Firmware v1.2.5.6

in PSDR you can set the meter to read SWR during TX, which I have done,
however regardless of the real SWR
as measured on my SWR meter connected inline, the PSDR SWR reading is
always 0.0:1, however if I set the meter
to REFPWR it shows a power reading when the SWR is high, IE: 2:1 which
is correct.

So can someone please do the same test and see if they get the same
result, IE: the PSDR SWR reading is always 0.0:1?

If it works for you guys then perhaps my new F3K is faulty?
I hope not, although the first one from the UK importer was DOA!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks.

Mario,

You said your latency is 15119us?? You should get the latency below
2000us to be consistent, some have gotten core2Duos to run under 100us.
Be sure to turn the Wireless and bluetooth drivers off, and make sure
your Power Options in the control panel is set to High Performance. Other

What are the details? Of the system and what versions of PowerSDR and FW

Go to your control panel, double-click on System and when that window pops
up, go to the Hardware tab, then click on the button called Device Manager.

When the device manager window appears, go to the views menu at the top of
the window and select View by Connection. When this display appears, click on
the plus sign by the IRQ line,

When the list of devices, sorted by the interrupt (IRQ) appears, look for
your firewire card. To the left of it will be a number which is the interrupt
number assigned to your fiirewire card. Tell us what other devices have the
same number besides them as your firewire card. That could help us tremendously!

It does, you are sharing the interrupt with your lan port. I assume you are
using the RJ45 plug in the motherboard?

You can try to disable it and use a USB wifi stick (or not use the internet
at all),

If you need help on how to disable it, let me know!

There is no way to change the IRQ, you are stuck with it. If there is another
pci slot in your computer (and assuming that you are using a non-onboard
firewire port), move your card and then see if/what IRQ it shares a device with.

The USB wifi stick is still a good alternative though!

It does, you are sharing the interrupt with your lan port. I assume you
are using the RJ45 plug in the motherboard?

You can try to disable it and use a USB wifi stick (or not use the
internet at all),

If you need help on how to disable it, let me know!

Go to your control panel, double-click on System and when that window
pops up, go to the Hardware tab, then click on the button called Device Manager.

When the device manager window appears, go to the views menu at the
top of the window and select View by Connection. When this display appears,
click on the plus sign by the IRQ line,

When the list of devices, sorted by the interrupt (IRQ) appears, look
for your firewire card. To the left of it will be a number which is the
interrupt number assigned to your fiirewire card. Tell us what other devices
have the same number besides them as your firewire card. That could help us
tremendously!

Hi Tim:

Did that and no change, I was thinking about uninstalling
everything, firewire driver, PSDR and starting from scratch.

[Flexradio] Flex 5K locking up

2010-01-29 Thread Mario Aviles
Hi Group:

I know this question has been asked before but I could not find the answer so
here it goes,

My Flex 5K was running ok, some lockups once in a while but not as bad as now
that when the DX summit page is refreshed or while surfing the web it happens.
(it happened several times while writing this email)

Two changes since that time, installed DDUtil and installed a new two monitor
graphics card. (Radeon HD 4650 1GB GDDR2 Memory)

Running Windows Vista 32 bit SP2 HP Pavillion Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 2.00GB RAM

Flex setup 96KHZ buffer size 2048 Safe level 3 (latency (max) 15119us)

Any suggestions besides changing computer?

[Flexradio] Exchanging CAT data between two computers.

2009-09-04 Thread Mario Aviles

Hi Group:

I have a Flex 5000A and I am using a HP Pavillion computer running under
Windows Vista. This OS has been Ok so far, running PSDR and through virtual
COM Ports running DXLab logging program. Problems began yesterday when I
tried to connect a Startech USB to 4 RS232 converter to run my linear,
antenna etc. There is a problem with the drivers since this converter runs
fine on my XP. I contacted the manufacturer and apparantly they dont have a
solution for this yet.

One idea that occured to me is to run PSDR on the Pavillion (VISTA) and run
the peripherals off my other XP computer. The question is, is there a way to
send CAT data from PSDR from one computer to the other since I would be
running the logging program on the other computer?

Interesting bundled promotions Flexradio is offering to a potential new
