Re: Translations of Jakarta
Hi Henri, Thanks for a whole bunch of stuff to discuss! Due to the wonders of fonts on this Windows box, I'd only seen '??' for the links to your translations and thought that all your site does is translate the front page. Now I see that some of the underlying projects are translated, sorry. I'll hold off removing the translations for the moment. I'll add jajakarta in though. My "personal" -1 to #8 (non-SUN-related translations only, though) 8) Removal of links to Japanese/Korean translations. non-SUN? What's the relationship between jajakarta and terra-intl btw? Hi Tetsuya, > Personally, "BCEL translation" was very hard (I bought two books > on byte-code engine for that translation :-) to accomplish. > # http://jakarta.terra-intl.com/bcel/manual.html It's kind of amazing that you did all of your translations single-handed. > > What's the relationship between jajakarta and terra-intl btw? Ooh, that's terrible. I'll make sure we get the links up. # Actually, I was also wondering about the relationship. I wasn't there when it happened. I also recently noticed that we both have translations of jakarta-commons. Haven't looked further into which components, but it would be a pity if we had duplications. Additionally I've changed 'News & Status' to News in the RHS nav, and removed the elsewhere news from the front page. I've promoted the ApacheCon advert to a top level headline. 4) Removal of Graduated from the left navbar. NOT DONE. Per Martin's -1. I have changed it to Ex-Jakarta as he suggested. 5) Removal of Related table at the bottom of the index. DONE. It now lives at http://jakarta.apache.org/site/java_at_apache.html, though I've not linked that page in yet. 6) Move Legal link to the bottom of the page (with the copyright), as shown in mock. DONE. 7) Removal of Our Mission. Redirect to front page. DONE. 8) Removal of links to Japanese/Korean translations. NOT DONE as per Tetsuya's -1. I've added Ja-Jakarta in and made it a separate section. Hen - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[site] Friday removals
On Friday I plan to do the following to the site: * Remove jon.html + images * Remove love.html * Remove idiot.html * Remove os.html * Remove methodology.html * Remove jakarta-site-*.html Very little, if anything links to them from within the site. I've no clue if other parts of the sites link to them. I'll put a redirect in for jakarta-site-* to README.txt, but all of the rest will just start doing 404's. In the meantime, I'll start work on my ideas for a new download page. -1's, grumbles, ideas, etc :) Same as before, each item has to be -1'd for me to not do it on Friday.
