Site Admins are 'keenly aware' of the problem eh. any updates on a solution around this , yet ? . Wont it be a viable option to put a Cname redirect to the group (http://groups.google.com/group/ilug-tvm/) , on the new domain (fsug- tvm.org) , till a decision regarding the contents of the new site is made ? . i see that currently 'fsug-tvm.org' pointlessly shows an authorization error. That is displayed since the server (on which kudumbashree site is on) is having Frontpage extensions 'enabled' . usually this is available by default for Server resellers . Since this site is being hosted on a shared server, Either they have clients using Frontpage on it or have forgot to disable these (normally useless ) extensions . I prefer name.com for domain registration, And as always it is better to get it from an ICANN accredited independent registrar than a reseller. There is a slight advantage with the pricing too (you can get .com's at promo prices of ~380-400 INR) , but more than that, The reliability, great deal of features support you get from them that counts. Thanks for the response guys , I'll be getting in touch with people who seems to be interested . I recently found out that its very hard to find someone having good knowledge of server related issues and Server management in Trivandrum ,even though some people seemed to know bit and pieces of stuff, but never reliable in case of a massive node/service failure or related issues. I ended up hiring PSM (http://www.platinumservermanagement.com/) for Managing my servers . So that leaves me with the need for a good/ Experienced php-Mysql Programmer alone (again.. beginners plz excuse ) I agree with Anoop Jacob Thomas , When you are hired to do a job , You are expected to have a thorough knowledge of what you are doing and to do the work flawlessly , there's absolutely no room for experimentation . cheers. The service utilizes a Custom made PHP script for its operation . The script uses mysql As DB. The issue : Due to heavy Usage of Server Resources, the existing server gets clogged at peak times and the service gets disrupted . Hence a server upgrade is deemed necessary , and the service gets moved to a server cluster ( with multiple servers ) on a Virtual Rack (on the same subnet). The Job : Enforce efficient Load Balancing on the server cluster, Make the script Work flawless on the server Cluster (in DSO mode). Optimize the Mysql for faster Performance. The Remuneration : $200 .. and yeah payment will be in ready cash ;) (based on the exchange rates on the day of delivery) I am looking for an experienced and advanced PHP-MySQL programmer who has good knowledge in server Load balancing tactics . Someone who can make necessary modification in the current code , to make it work over multiple servers (in DSO mode). So you think you can do it ?
