[MBZ] VW Wesfalias, was Station Wagons and Trailers
Jim Cathey wrote: Those westys do look interesting, if you could get them with a 60x in them! Too big/heavy. Would upset the chassis balance. You can get them with chipped VW TDIs (140+ hp), Turbo Focus engines (200+ hp) and Subie WRX engines (250+ hp) in them, however, as well as Subie 4's. There are specialty shops for each kind of conversion, and parts vendors likewize. Westy owners are if anything more fanatical than MB owners. I have one with a VW TD, one with a VW I-4 gasser. Dan, I think Jim was talking about the 207D Westfalia/James Cook vans. I don't think the weight difference between a OM615/OM616/whatever and a OM602/OM603 are significant compared to the overall weight of a mbz van. Re: [MBZ] BMW LSD on Portland CL
Interesting!? I just happen to have a 93 E 3.2 differential in my spare parts.? The input flange on mine is 3 bolt pattern but maybe the spline pattern would permit swapping these.? the rear cover on mine is 8 bolt, and MB uses different covers to adapt the diff to different models.? The BMW unit looks close but no way to reach a conclusion from the pictures.? The rear mounting bracket appears to be held to the back cover with four of the cover bolts.? the ouput flanges look very similar in 6 bolt pattern and size.? The distance between the flanges also looks close. I have photos if anyone wants to pursue this further. My diff is a open 2.65:1 ratio, large case design.? very nice condition with dual abs sensors.? It is also for sale:? Complete as listed for $200, plus shipping (it weighs 82 pounds).? According to the EPC, it fits 29 US models directly. Back when I was going to Maine on a regular basis (1st wife's home), we lost quite a few French Canadians each year when they drove their DUI-piloted vehicles into moose. They (not the moose) would come south to the States to party, would party too much, and do a head-on with a moose. Everyone seemed to lose. Have you tried to interview Keith Richards? I think he is a ghost. On Fri, Apr 25, 2008 at 8:01 AM, Dan Weeks [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I think the paranormal is quite real. I've never experienced any of it myself, but I've heard enough from credible people--including my father, a Phd. physicist and sceptic who experienced one such event which he cheerfully admits that he can not explain rationally--to believe that they can occur. Certainly there is much that we don't know, and that our rational/scientific culture can not explain or even provide language or a frame of reference for, although other cultures--generally nonwestern--can and do. The problem is, in this culture anyway, paranormal stuff often interests people who have a deep emotional need to believe, along with folks who are more than happy to take advantage of them. In fact, there's a whole tear-jerking, feel-good TV show--I think it's called Ghost Whisperer, or something similar, that does exactly this. So a lot of dross gets mixed in with the gold, and at least some paranormal stuff bandied about is probably wishful thinking or outright fakery. But I am convinced it does exist. I'm a magazine article and nonfiction book writer, and for some time my career goal has been to interview a ghost. So far, no luck, but I remain open and inclined toward the possibility. [MBZ] off topic -- those stupid dogs just ruin my mood today
the ex wife got a little chihuaha/dachs mix, say maybe 12lbs of little dog. sweet girl. very mellow. dances nicely on her hind legs. seems to like everyone. the kid brings the dog over to my house today, so i suggest it would be a good idea to have my two dogs meet the little dog. the kid thinks it's a bad idea. i say this is nonsense and she whould jsut sit down on the couch with the little dog, i'll let my 2 dogs in, everyone will sniff everyone and all will be happy. i open the back door and my dogs fly through the air growling, fly over the couch and pounce on the little dog. i don't know what the hell to do at this point so i just dive into the pile myself to protect the little dog. i manage to cover the little dog like a fumbled football and push the big dogs away. i hand hte little dog to the kid and literally chase my dogs out of the house in great fury. i don't even think they knew why i was angry at them. the little dog was terrified, but didn't have a single scratch on her (and i looked that dog over carefully from head to toe as i expected to find some damage), so it doesn't seem as if the big dogs wanted to hurt her. i wasn't hurt in anyway beyond just a little bruising from the dogs jumping on me in their frenzy to get at the little dog. so, in a nutshell, wtf went on here? ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Strange interloper on home turf. Would have been better to make introductions on neutral territory, like a dog park, with the two big ones on leash and maybe you holding the little one. I'm not sure it would be wise to try that any time soon, though, the little one is probably very freaked out. You need that dog whisperer guy. That would have been sweet if they were there filming and they would have caught you flying through the air to save the wee dog.
