In my area Advance Auto is where the employees too dumb to work at Autozone
go...

Needless to say even with the discount I'll pay extra and shop at my local Car
Quest where the employees aren't dumber than a box of hammers.

Speaking of which I need to change the motorcycle's oil and finally cure the
massive leak on the left side cover. Oh and replace the clutch cable that
snapped yesterday. Fortunately it broke just before we left to come home. We'd
done 120 miles in a big group and had a party, my wife's bike wouldn't start
(starter button got cockeyed in its bore and won't make contact) so some guys
helped me bump start it. I get back to my bike, pull back the clutch lever and
*TWANG* it snapped right at the lever. If I hadn't had to go through town with
many stops I might have tried it. Instead we doubled up on my wife's little
Kawi 454 to go home and get the Ranger.

As I was swapping out the PS pumps tonight I was thinking that this stupid

filter, lid gasket and swapped to M1  ATF.

It was filled with ATF...

I've NEVER noticed any change in sound. My transmissions don't make any
detectable sound when the engine/driveline is properly supported by
their rubber mounts and couplings, but the transmission does shift more

You must NOT push the change interval when using Mobil 1 ATF. You need
to change the fluid/filter at about the same interval as part of the
purpose of the ATF/filter change is to remove the friction material
debris (that will clog the filter). Even conventional ATF is seldom
worn out when a change is required although it may be damaged or
contaminated.

The advantage of M-1 ATF is the much smoother shifting (and resulting
longer friction material life) and more viscosity consistency with
respect to temperature.

It would be cost effective to save the fluid and change the filter.
One of the reasons for using M1 ATF (or Amsoil in my case) is to
reduce friction/wear. So theoretically there should be considerably
less particles in the fluid. They both make claims of extended drain

govern when fluid should be changed.

I plan on running our 190D to 45,000 miles and send in a sample.
