Yes, ditto. Actually, these were the smaller rocks,  say 3-4 feet, maybe a 
fiver in there somewhere. Looking at it again, it may have  been one rock that 
broke up from being tumbled. Or two rocks slammed together  that broke up. 
There were big rounded boulders near the road that had been moved  (by the lava 
flow, ash flow, whatever) but no place to stop to shoot  them. 

These were more interesting anyway.

I guess I should have said these rocks were tumbled around by some sort  of 
lava flow when Lassen erupted in 1915 (just checked web site for date).  
Granite rocks and boulders (some quite big) were jammed together or dumped  in 
odd 
positions.

photographer lately. Was sick, minor, but it  dragged on. Better, and hopefully 
soon I will get out and take some pictures  again.

Just a little more roadside geology. 

Taken in  Lassen Volcanic National Park in Fall 2006 at a look out point 
where  one could take pictures of the Lassen Mt. peak (i.e.. not on the 
mountain, 
but  it was close). They had lots and lots of rocks in the park. 

I just  thought these rocks were inherently interesting.
