Hi,

Managed to fix this by removing the /usr/share/squirrelmail folder and
then reinstalling the package..must have been a plugin I was using that
was causing the issue.

[qmailtoaster] Issue upgrading Spamassassin

2008-07-12 Thread James Palmer

Hi all,

Ran into an issue when upgrading SA to the latest version.

I removed the package (as I always do)

rpm -e spamassassin-toaster

And whilst building the new spamassassin src.rpm (rpmbuild --rebuild --
with cnt50 spamassassin-toaster-3.2.5-1.3.14.src.rpm) I get the
following error:

+ rm -f /var/tmp/spamassassin-toaster-root/etc/mail/spamassassin/
local.cf
+ rm -f /var/tmp/spamassassin-toaster-root/etc/mail/spamassassin/
v310.pre
+ install -m 0644 /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/qmailtoaster.local.cf.bz2 /
var/tmp/spamassassin-toaster-root/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf.bz2
install: cannot create regular file `/var/tmp/spamassassin-toaster-
root/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf.bz2': No such file or directory

error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.47733 (%install)

RPM build errors:
Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.47733 (%install)

Probably something really simple..but hey!

Also, I inadvertently got QTP to create a qtp sandbox - how can I get
rid of that?

Cheers,

James

Re: [qmailtoaster] how do remove the password from the web interface

Eric,

I think I'm the only one who's never had an issue with vqadmin.

The only thing that I found doesn't work too well is domain options
(disabling features like POP/IMAP etc), adding/removing domains has
always worked fine.

Although I think I've just cursed it...

If I'm not mistaken there's some statistics scripts in QTP.

You could add them to a crontab and set the crontab to email the results
of the command.

Is it possible to get some statistics from the mailserver by email?

When I used qmailrocks installation it had a qmailstats script that
 provided

qtp-sa-update does not touch the SA executables at all. I don't even

I think if you do your due diligence you'll see the script does
almost exactly what the 2 links you provided do almost step by step.
Looking at the error, it looks like a remnant left over from when
the spamassassin-toaster package spec file was broken or at least
acting weird.
I'd suggest rebuilding the package (spamassassin-toaster). It looks
like you got one of the many bugs reported on the list by this
latest version or revert to an older version.
(to recap: the qtp-sa-update script removed the RDJ rules if they
were there from an older version of QTP, then installs the Apache/
Spamassassin channel, then installs the OpenProtect channel. It
doesn't touch the executable at all)

You can, but I wouldn't do it that way. A better way to is to remove

That way
the rblsmtpd program doesn't run at all (a bit more efficient that

[qmailtoaster] Spamdyke

2008-05-03 Thread James Palmer

Hi all,

Just installed SpamDyke and now whenever I send an email via my
qmailtoaster box (IP allowed in tcprules.d and also authenicating) it
takes about 30-40s to connect and send an email.

Any reason for this?

Also, now that SpamDyke is doing the RBL checks there is no need for
the /var/qmail/control/blacklists file and I can remove the RBLs from
in there to prevent double checking IPs?

Cheers,

James

Re: [qmailtoaster] Spamdyke

2008-05-03 Thread James Palmer
Ah... apologies - I did use the QTP-install-spamdyke script. Wasn't
sure it disabled rblsmtpd or if I needed to do it manually.

After a bit of investigation the delay on SMTP seems to be because I
have 3 RBL's set in spamdyke.conf - if I disable them all it is instant.

Cheers,

James

Yes, there always is a reason.

You can, but I wouldn't do it that way. A better way to is to remove
$RBLSMTPD $BLACKLIST from the /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/run file.
That way
the rblsmtpd program doesn't run at all (a bit more efficient that
way).

I'm guessing you didn't use the qtp-install-spamdyke script. Maybe you
should have? :(

If you post your spamdyke configuration file, your smtp run file,
and a

sample from your smtp log we might be able to help.

You probably just need to let simscan know there's a new version:
/var/qmail/bin/simscanmk -g
That should put the headers back in. If not, let us know what
versions of the packages you're running.

Yes just

 qmailctl restart

AFAIK its just normal traffic that will display in the relevant log
file.

Also, once its live is there a log file that I can tail to make sure
its working? Or will it just display in the normal qmail logs?

Thanks!

Re: [qmailtoaster] deliver email flagged as spam to a subfolder

Eric,

Where is the default option for the QmailAdmin spambox? I have
simscan set to reject anything SA scores over 10 so having the spambox
at 12 is doing nothing for me.

Cheers!

Hi,

Currently the email's subject is flagged and spam headers are
added to

warn someone, but I'd like to deliver these emails into some other
folder than the inbox.
Now I could create a .qmail file for all users in the domain folder
with a preline+maildrop+mailfilter line, but I'd like this to be the
default behavior for all accounts that do not have a .qmail file.

If you recompile qmailadmin with the spambox turned on it will do
this.
Each user will have a Spam detection box in the admin panel that
you
can turn on. It will then move messages that have a score =12 (I
think
that was the default) to a Spam folder. The folder will be created
the

first time a user gets a message that meets the criteria.

Isn't spambox on the default configuration now? I seem to recall EE
changing that at some point. I could very well be mistaken though,
as I've
used /opt/qmailtoaster-plus/etc/rpmbuild/qmailadmin-toaster to turn
it on

for over a year now.

Re: [qmailtoaster] deliver email flagged as spam to a subfolder

2008-04-23 Thread James Palmer

So to recompile qmailadmin-toaster with the option enabled its just:

rpmbuild --rebuild --with cnt40 --define 'spambox 1' qmailadmin-
toaster-*.src.rpm

rpm -Uvh newlyrebuiltpackage.rpm

Is that correct?

It's on by default in the ISO, but I do not think Erik enabled it in
the package itself.

Would it be better to rpm -e qmailadmin-toaster then rpmbuild with the new
option then rpm -Uvh?

Rather than 'overwriting' the existing package?

Cheers

 You'll probably have to:
 rpm -Uvh --replacepkgs --replacefiles newlyrebuiltpackage.rpm
