How disappointing - two days after my last post the SB radio shows similar problems again. Well, my radio seems to work again. i hope i promise not too much - but today the device played music the whole day without any problems. Thank you for the information. Hope it's true, but I wonder why this issue appears exactly with 7.6.1 ! Does 7.6.1 use mor mysb.com ??? Is it just a accident ? Or is there a link beetween 7.6.1 and mysb.com ? What is very disapointed, is the lack of information, we can only wait and hope... Interesting choice of words, "adapted". Logitech are using Amazon's EC2 virtual hosting for this service. Hey folks, today i called the German logitech support center. the call center agent was well-informed about the issue and he told me, that he has exactly the same problems - he uses a SB Radio too. Unfortunately, I've found that the corporate idea of support is to send me an email with a survey on "tell us how we did" but to never actually provide much support. When things work automatically everything is great. Yes, I agree completely that it is often the lack of transparent, truthful information that is a bigger problem than the problem itself. I have the same complaints at airports when travel is all messed up. It seems they rarely just tell us what the real issue is. They'd rather limp along giving us only bits and pieces of info. For example, if Europe's mysb.com servers are acting up, they should simply post on their website forums (at least) that "Some European mysb.com servers are down. We are working on the problem and will post again when we have resolved." At least people will know that the problem is not their own setup. When my cable TV goes out I like the fact that if I call the help #, they can tell me that the cable is down in my area. Then I relax. Not my specific problem and move on to a book or something. But if they say, "we don't know of any outages in your area" then I'm bothered with checking connections, testing different TVs, etc. etc. All a pain, simply because I don't have good info. That's why I occasionally remind people that this is not an official forum (and even give them links to the official forum). I'm not a geek either (nothing about my day job has ever had anything to do with computers or technology). But I've been lucky in my SB universe as things just work. This said, I understand there are problems and there are folks around here that try to help. But we need specific data to narrow things down. "This junk doesn't work" doesn't provide any data. p.s. the old chestnuts of reboot router, used fixed IP, and/or check wifi strength have solved hundreds of users' problems in the time I've been hanging out here. I do think there is something going on with Mac users and maybe lion, although I've seen a few posts from such users today reporting that all is working fine with 7.6.1. But without folks reporting specifics, it is hard for someone to help by noticing what the difference is between the users having problems and the users experiencing no problems. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio down again.
Welcome to the club! Same problems observed. I guess the programmers are back from summer holiday or something... One remark: This time it's not only the radio, it is also the www.mysqueezebox.com server that is falling apart again and again. Everytime the server drops out, we have no preselected stations and no radio streaming. I guess we are in for a few weeks of beta testing, just like the other times. I wish they would debug their stuff on a closed circuit, rather than downing all their customers. abyrvalg;653891 Wrote: > I am sick as a dog of Logitech and it's stupid bugs. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio down again.
I am sick as a dog of Logitech and it's stupid bugs. I have sold 2 of my Duets because I had enough, and kept Radio for a bedroom, but after the last update it is simply going crazy. Every day, sometimes several times a day: 1. It loses it's name, becomes "nil" 2. It loses all the menu, except 2 items - "my music" and "setting". Everything else is gone. 3. It loses presets. Rebooting Radio does help sometimes, but sometimes it does not. Last FW version was more or less stable (if you forget about "nil" from time to time), but now this is simply over the roof. I would happily get rid of this junk, but I am a paid subscriber to one station and I don't see an alternative hardware radio that correctly plays with it. Same type of problems here. Ever since I have the radio, these problems comes in periods, around software updates to the radio and to the www.mysqueezebox.com site. I saw the 'nil' too. They are not playing spades ;-) - its a bug again. I guess we are in beta testing mode again... sigh sSNICKERSs;653656 Wrote: > I have something like that since a week (in Europe). I have something like that since a week (in Europe). My Radio has lost his name and is called "Nil". Also, lost mySB.com conection : presets don't work, no menu items for my favorites... [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio down again.
Are we again getting a period with downtime? The last couple of days I had several dropouts (and also uploads of new software versions). Today also the mysqueezebox site had dropped out (504 Gateway Time-out nginx/0.7.67). Is there again a long period of debugging ahead? Last time I saw that, it took a long time to get a stable service back... -- uffe uffe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39973 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89978 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
