[RollTideFan] Hey...Jobu 602 huh?
Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war. They complain about his prosecution of it. They point out that Iraq didn't attack the U.S. and we shouldn't have gone to war with them. One liberal recently claimed Bush was the worst president in U.S. history. Most of these claims come from liberals in the Democratic party. Being an Independent I decided to take a look at history and see if using that criteria who else could be called the "worst" president. FDR ( a democrat) led us into World War II against Germany, Italy, and Japan. Neither Germany or Italy ever attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year. That's 1 Democratic President, 4 years and 450,000 American lives Harry Truman (a democrat) finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,333 per year. That's 1 Democratic President, 3 years, and 55,000 American lives. John F. Kennedy (a democrat) started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Lyndon B. Johnson (a democrat) turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year. Finally in the 1970's Richard Nixon (a republican) pulled us out of Vietnam. That's 2 Democratic Presidents, 1 Republican President, 13 years, and 58,000 American lives. Bill Clinton went to war in Bosnia WITHOUT UN or French consent, Bosnia never attacked us. The Clinton administration was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions. In the two years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Lybia, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured Sadaam Hussein, who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. We lost about 600 soldiers, an average of 200 a year. Bush did all this abroad while not allowing another terrorist attack at home. That's 1 Republican President, 2 1/2 years, and about 600 American lives. Then the Democrats complained about how long the war on terror is taking, but...It took less time to take Iraq than it TOOK JANET RENO TO TAKE THE BRANCH DAVIDIAN C0MPOUND! THAT WAS A 51 DAY OPERATION! We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for LESS TIME THAN IT TOOK HILLARY CLINTON TO LOCATE THE ROSE LAW FIRM RECORDS IN HER OWN OFFICE! It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took TED KENNEDY TO CALL THE POLICE AND GIVE HIMSELF UP AFTER HE HAD AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRUNK AND SANK HIS OLDSMOBILE IN THE CHAPPAQUIDIK RIVER KILLING THE YOUNG LADY WHO WAS HIS PASSENGER! And Finally... IT TOOK LESS TIME FOR THE U.S. MILITARY TO TAKE IRAQ THAN IT DID TO COUNT THE VOTES IN FLORIDA IN 2000 But for some reason the Democrats didn't complain about how long any of that took! Hmmm. A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul. -- George Bernard Shaw - Original Message - From: RUTH PAFF To: Joe Sent: Friday, April 02, 2004 11:13 AM Subject: Fw: Why Lawyers should never. - Original Message - From: smiling.rick To: Undisclosed-Recipient:; Sent: Friday, April 02, 2004 10:45 AM Subject: Fw: Why Lawyers should never. - Original Message - From: Carole Stumpf To: russell dering Sent: Thursday, April 01, 2004 11:00 PM Subject: Fw: Why Lawyers should never. Why Lawyers should never. This is why lawyers should never ask a witness a question if they aren't prepared for the answer. In a trial, a small Texas town prosecuting attorney called his first witness to the stand - a grand-motherly, elderly woman. He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me? She responded, "Why, yes I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you." The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?" She again replied, "Why yes, I do. I've known Mr.Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. Yes, I know him." The defense attorney almost died! At this point, the judge brought the court room to silence, called both counselors to the bench, and in a very quiet voice, said, "If either of you bastards asks her if she knows me, you'll be jailed for contempt." __ RollTideFan - The University of Alabama Athletics Discussion List "Welcome to RollTideFan! And your point is? As an Army man, I know that there are three things you do while you serve. You lead, follow, or you get the hell out of the way. I heard on the news that there are more people reenlisting than are ETS'ing (expiration of term of service). The media is telling you what they want you to know. How many people have died in traffic accidents since the war started? Are you going to stop driving because of those deaths? No. So STFU Jobu. You are an idiot. God bless our troops! [RollTideFan] TGIF Groaner - (nonBama)
Today, our beauty is a ReRun from waaay back... "A great new software announcement." This memo is to announce the development of a new software system. We are currently building a data center that will contain all firm data that is Year 2000 compliant. The program is referred to as the "Millennia Year Application Software System" (MYASS). Next Monday at 9:00 there will be a meeting in which I will show MYASS to everyone. We will continue to hold demonstrations throughout the month so that all employees will have an opportunity to get a good look at MYASS. As for the status of the implementation of the program, I have not addressed the networking aspects so currently only one person at a time can use MYASS. This restriction will be removed after MYASS expands. Several people are using the program already and have come to depend on it. Just this morning I walked into a subordinate's office and was not surprised to find that he had his nose buried in MYASS. I've noticed that some of the less technical personnel are somewhat afraid of MYASS. Just last week, when asked to enter some information into the program, I had a secretary say to me "I'm a little nervous, I've never put anything in MYASS before." I volunteered to help her through her first time and when we were through she admitted that it was relatively painless and she was actually looking forward to doing it again. She went so far as to say that after using SAP and Oracle, she was ready to kiss MYASS. I know there are concerns over the virus that was found in MYASS upon initial installation, but I am pleased to say the virus has been eliminated and we were able to save MYASS. In the future, however, protection will be required prior to entering MYASS. We planned this database to encompass all information associated with the business. So as you begin using the program, feel free to put anything you want into MYASS. As MYASS grows larger, we envision a time when it will be commonplace to walk by an office and see a manager hand a paper to an employee and say "Here, stick this in MYASS". This program has already demonstrated great benefit to the company during recent OSHA and EPA audits. After requesting certain historical data the agency representatives were amazed at how quickly we provided the information. When asked how the numbers could be retrieved so rapidly our Environmental Manager proudly stated "Simple, I just pulled them out of MYASS". cheers -vo- http://community-2.webtv.net/TIDE1/SOLDIER/ __ RollTideFan - The University of Alabama Athletics Discussion List "Welcome to RollTideFan! RE: [RollTideFan] RE: NON Tide - "Was the war in Iraq worth it?"
Let's see. I don't know that I ever said I actually cared (meaning that I spent time in thought about the subject and was touched by it) about the deaths overseas. I'm sure you have all my posts, so browse through them and see if I did. I think all the deaths are tragic, but more importantly they are, up to this point, needless and futile. I base that on the explicit argument that Dubya gave for going over there in the first place. Something about WMD that were an 'imminent threat to the US'... As far as a soldier's death, while tragic, its what they signed up for. Everyone who signs up knows full well that they may be called to action and may in fact give their life in the line of duty. I simply hate that American lives are being extinguished so people in another country can live better. We hear all about how they died 'defending our freedom'. That's BS. They died in order to liberate a country that most people over here could care less about. To die by actually defending our freedom is admirable. To die for the reasons now stated as to why we are in Iraq is pitiful. If in fact our freedom was being threatened, we should have been more precise and forceful to start with. And after the dust settled, leave the area for those who remain and let them pick up the pieces. Now. No, I'm not a vegetarian. I like nothing better than wings or a good hamburger. Does that mean I condone the needless abuse and neglect that many dogs and cats face? Nope. Animals that are raised for food products should be treated decently and slaughtered in ways that are humane. Since we, as humans, are supposed to be the lead animal, we should know better than to kill other animals in ways that inflict useless pain on them. Animals that are raised as companions (please see the Queen's post regarding the differences between pets and companions) should be taken care of as if they are one of the family (as really they are). Folks that abuse or neglect companions don't deserve the air they breathe. Oh, the count is 602 as of this morning. Tim sez: Not only is you your moral compass broken, but you continue to show your idiocy. In the above post you negated every post you have ever made regarding death in Iraq by admitting that death means nothing to you, especially if you don't have a personal relationship with the deceased. Oh, I'm sorry maybe you were referring to all the other people and not yourself, please clarify your position Mr. Kerry 'cause it appears you are flip-flopping on the issue. Since you appear to value animal life more than human life, I will simply remind you of that foolishness as you post your "600 and counting" posts henceforward. Are you a vegetarian? Or, is 600 the number of chickens you grazed through last year? __ RollTideFan - The University of Alabama Athletics Discussion List "Welcome to RollTideFan! Wear a cup!" [RollTideFan] Vasectomy
After having their 11th child, an Aubbie couple decided that was enough, as they could not afford a larger bed. So the husband went to his veterinarian and told him that he and his cousin didn't want to have any more children. The doctor told him that there was a procedure called a vasectomy that could fix the problem but that it was expensive. "A less costly alternative," said the doctor," is to go home, get a cherry bomb, light it, put it in a beer can, then hold the can up to your ear and count to 10." The aubbie said to the doctor, "I may not be the smartest tool in the shed, but I don't see how putting a cherry bomb in a beer can next to my ear is going to help me." "Trust me," said the doctor. So the aubbie went home, lit a cherry bomb and put it in a beer can. He held the can up to his ear and began to count: "1" "2" "Free" "Fur" "5" "Dang!" At this point he paused, placed the beer can between his legs and resumed counting on his other hand. This procedure has been approved for, and is encouraged for, fans of Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi, Mississippi State, South Carolina Chickens, West Virginia, aTm, Texas, Oklahoma and the entire state of Georgia. __ RollTideFan - The University of Alabama Athletics Discussion List "Welcome to RollTideFan! [RollTideFan] Croom Reacts to Alabama Award Name Change
http://mississippistate.theinsiders.com/2/248456.html Croom Reacts to Alabama Award Name Change By Gene Swindoll Date: Apr 1, 2004 Coach Croom talked extensively to the media about Alabama head football coach Mike Shula changing the name of the Alabama spring football award named after him. What is your reaction to Alabama's Mike Shula taking your name off the Alabama spring football award? "I want to make it perfectly clear that I have no animosity toward Coach (Mike) Shula. (However) to say I was not disappointed would be lying. Otherwise, if I had known about it previously, I would probably not have even answered the question. But, to answer it honestly, I was disappointed. But, that is the head coach's prerogative. Now that I have gotten over my initial shock of it, we move on. The reality of it is the name of awards change year in and year out. I understand that. The important thing to me is that what the University of Alabama meant to me will always mean that to me. The important thing is the guys that I played with, the guys that I played against, they know how I played the game and how much I cared about them. And I feel they cared about me the same way. And they know how much pride I took in wearing that uniform. Nothing will ever change that." How did you find out about the decision? "When I was asked a question out here at practice Tuesday evening." The award was named after you the player, not the coach. "The spring awards, even though the the public wasn't award of them, have always meant a great deal to all the players. I remember when I was playing they had the Billy Nabors Most Improved Offensive Lineman Award. I wanted it every spring because it was named after a great player there. To get any kind of recognition from Coach Bryant and his staff meant a great deal to us as players. I idolized those guys when I was there. To have an award like that named after me, yeah, it meant a great deal to me. It means that the efforts that I put in trying to be a team player in what I contributed there was noticed by the coaching staff and the other people that were involved in putting my name on that. It meant a lot to me when I was playing and means a lot to me now. The greatest honor that I have gotten or will even get was being voted captain my senior year. Nothing can ever surpass that for me, because it came from the players and the men that I played with." Don't you wish they had given you a courteous heads up? "I would have liked to have known because I would have had a better answer to that question when he came to me (laugh). We could have avoided all of this (laugh)." Have you spoken to any of the Alabama people since this has happened? "I have talked to some people. I had a call today from Mal Moore at about the middle of the day. He called to say that they had changed some awards. He and I talked about it. Just like I told you, when I was asked the question, I was caught off guard. To have answered it any other way would have been an out and out lie. I had to answer the question as truthful as I possibly could." Why do you think they removed your name from the award? "The only thing that I have heard is that they felt like it was not good having an award named after an opposing head coach. My feeling is the award was named after a former player, not after an opposing head coach."
