[RollTideFan] NON (Hot Air)
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered altitude and spotted a man in a boat in a lake below. She shouted to him, Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am. The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, You're in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude. She rolled her eyes and said, You must be a Republican. I am, replied the man. How did you know? Well, answered the balloonist, everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me. The man smiled and responded, You must be a Democrat. I am, replied the balloonist, How did you know? Well, said the man, you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect ME to solve your problem. Perkins had a lot to do with Shula being hired in the first place. I'd say, probably as much influence as anyone. While you may not like him, Perkins would have put another trophy in our case. Shula said, Kines is the one who prepared me and guided me in my development (still ongoing) as a head coach. Now, tell me this. If that is the case and I have no reason to believe Shula is a liar what logic stands to the notion he needs to be let go or is going to be let go? Quite simply, if there is a transition it'll be with a move of Kines to an ADMIN type position. Fired? News reports out of Ohio have mentioned Gottfried as a possible candidate for the vacant OSU head men's basketball job. Moore acknowledged that Alabama's appearance in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight this past season increased the possibility that Gottfried's name could crop up for vacant coaching jobs. However, Moore doesn't expect Gottfried to leave his current job. I think Mark is very happy at Alabama and he has a very good contract, Moore said. Gottfried signed a new contract worth $800,000 per year before this past season. His contract extends through the 2008-09 season. Alabama advanced to the NCAA Tournament Regional Final in March before losing to eventual champion Connecticut. The Tide finished 20-13 in 2003-04 and is 119-75 in Gottfried's six seasons as the head coach. Alabama won the 2001-02 SEC title and has advanced to three consecutive NCAA Tournaments under Gottfried. Gottfried, 40, has refused to speculate on Ohio State's intentions since media reports in Ohio mentioned him as a possible candidate. An ESPN.com report, however, mentioned six possible candidates to replace the fired Jim O'Brien, and Gottfried was not included. The Web site said in the same story that Marquette's Tom Crean is considered the front-runner for the position. You do have a bit of a point there. We are not in the mix and don't know how hard they do (or don't) try to do their job effectively. But you have to admit, the defense did cost us a few games last year. However, Coach Shula thinks that Coach Kines will be an asset, and that is good enough for me to grudgingly give my modest blessing. I will support Coach Shula unconditionally for another two years. Facts be known, the fucking 4th and 19 should have never happened. The Tide offense should have salted the game away in regulation when they had it 1st down and 3 yards to go to make a first. They make that 1st, ballgame's over! Basically the same could be said about the Arky game, the Tide fumbled and bumbled away a 21 point lead by NOT moving the chains when the game was on the line.
