RE: Can't Read Information in Outlook Fields
Well, Steve, once again you've come to my rescue. I wish I hadn't been so impulsive in flinging reason and common sense to oblivion and doing a re-install of 9.3x then upgrading to 9.4. Ah, well, that just means I get to go on an app scavenger hunt--not as fun perhaps as an Easter egg hunt, but achievable easily enough. The repair of that video driver solved both the Outlook problem and my mouse dinging problem. The mouse keys work again--hugely helpful for Sound Forge and a host of other programs. So please accept my fervent gratitude for a fix that was so quick and easy. Hi, Control-numpad 5 doesn't spell lines in a text editor. It however can spell menu items because when a line isn't detected Window-eyes does a speak summary when you press control-numpad 5. Hello Nolan, Assuming your Window-Eyes apps are up-to-date, open the WE control panel, and run Apps -> Diagnostics -> Repair Windows 10 Video Support. Once done, restart WE, and that should correct the problem. Let us know if it doesn't. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with sleep mode or screen saver. I've turned all of that off in my power plan, so I don't ever have to come out of sleep mode. Screen redraws don't seem to help either. I just don't get it; it works perfectly in JAWS 17 and the latest NVDA. There's clearly some setting somewhere that's changed, and I can't figure it out. Before I reinstalled the entire program last night, I had re-installed the factory sets, hoping that would fix things. RE: Can't Read Information in Outlook Fields
Nolan, I have experienced some of the same issues with the To, From, and Subjects when composing messages after my computer has been in sleep or screen saver mode. Usually redrawing the screen corrects the problem but I have to do that each time I want to read the screen. By any chance, does this fit your scenario? If you reboot, can you edit subjects all right for a while, until your computer sleeps or goes into screen saver again? RE: Can't Read Information in Outlook Fields
Nolan, I would recommend contacting support on Monday. This issue might be corrected by reinstalling video support or by repairing the accessibility libraries. The WE Diagnostic app is designed to help you accomplish the later. But, you probably should wait for the support team to confirm this recommendation. RE: Can't Read Information in Outlook Fields
You asked whether the 2010 set files are loading; it appears so. The other thing that happens is my mouse keys just ding when I tap them no matter what's open. I can do Control+Shift+B to rotor among the movement possibilities, but those keys make no difference; the mouse keys just ding no matter. Re: Can't Read Information in Outlook Fields
Hi Nolan, Are the Office 2010 set files being loaded when working in Outlook? Also, does the spell current line hotkey work in other contexts? For example, does pressing Ctrl+Numpad 5 twice spell the current line in Notepad? I don't have access to Outlook 2010 and would like to know if others using this OS/Office combination can duplicate.
