I propose this fix also for a SRU for Jaumty. debdiff attached (fixes also bug 361772), package uploaded to -proposed and waits for approval. To reproduce: lpinfo -m | grep -i 1020D shows a Foomatic/gutenprint line for the Kyocera FS-1020D and trying to generate this PPD with /usr/lib/cups/driver/foomatic cat foomatic:Kyocera-FS-1020D- gutenprint.ppd leads to an error. [Bug 342096] Re: SD Card containing /home corrupted on resume
I confirm this bug on a Dell mini9 with ubuntu-9.04-netbook-remix-i386. After resuming from a suspend with a mounted SHDC card, the partition table on the card is corrupted. This does not happen with the original ubuntu 8.04 shipped by Dell. Looking at the config files of the Dell 8.04 and the Ubuntu 9.04 kernels I found these relevant differences: config-2.6.24-22-lpia (Ubuntu 8.04 Dell): ... CONFIG_MMC=y CONFIG_MMC_BLOCK=y CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI=y CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI_PCI=y CONFIG_MMC_UNSAFE_RESUME=y ... config-2.6.28-11-generic (ubuntu 9.04): ... CONFIG_MMC=y CONFIG_MMC_BLOCK=m CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI=m CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI_PCI=m # CONFIG_MMC_UNSAFE_RESUME is not set ... Then I build custom packages of 2.6.28-11 kernel and restricted-modules for jaunty, using the CONFIG_MMC options of the Ubuntu 8.04 kernel and this solved the problem for me. [Bug 345542] Re: linux-image-2.6.28-5-powerpc has ioremap fault with radeon drm module
Shortly after all this started, I built linux- source_2.6.28.11.15_all.deb on PPC to see if that later version (the source for then current ia32 version) had the fault, and it did on PPC. Yesterday, following spydouglas' example, I built kernel.org 2.6.28.10, which, as we now know, works on PPC. This morning, inspecting the differences in drivers/gpu/drm/radeon/radeon_cp.c, I naively changed the three instances of drm_core_ioremap_wc() in the above Ubuntu source (drivers/gpu/drm/radeon/radeon_cp.c) to remove the _wc, i.e. back to the Korg non write combining version (this is at lines 1183-1185), [ == drm_core_ioremap()]. The kernel from modified Ubuntu source works with DRM, though I have no idea what the side affects might be. -jh -- linux-image-2.6.28-5-powerpc has ioremap fault with radeon drm module https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/345542 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 351186] Re: [ubuntu 9.04 beta]slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
Hallo Bryce, thanks for the PPA; just for your interest (and the benefit of all others): The debs from the PPA work fine on one of my two 64-bit machines, and also seem to resolve many of the glitches and performance problems I had with video feedback. On a second machine, with a HD 4350 and ASUS M3N78-EM mainboard, the debs from the PPA fail to run: the xserver crashes with no screens found with any driver I tried (fglrx, radeon, vesa). The stock xserver works, apart from that annoying resizing performance problem. This machine has 8GB, so maybe this is part of the problem as I have read somwhere that people had problems with machines 3GB of RAM, but I'm out of ideas to try in front of the screen, and would rather not like to try go over to hardware swapping... The fix was to install the python-glade package, apparently, although I can't find that listed; http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords =python-gladesearchon=namessuite=allsection=all It seems the package dependencies for usb-imagewriter are incorrect. ** Changed in: usb-imagewriter (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- usb-imagewriter fails to run https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370297 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 362919] Re: [Q45] Display corruption on Intel chipset
I confirm the bug. I upgraded from 8.10 to jaunty on 3 different laptop, 2 thinkpad X31 and 1 thinkpad X30. The problem appears only on the X30. It is mostly related to texte. On any word processor from gedit, to Open Office through Abiword...when you are typing, the line already written dissepear and is replaced by a blank line. After few more strokes it comes back. This is strictly independent from the ubuntu theme This is not all, the title of the windows is corrupted progressively, in some case with corrupted fonts, sometimes with long blank rectangles. Some fonts can also persist on the screen. Some images are also corrupted like the smilies turned into grey squares. At last some horizontal line accumulate on the screen and the upper ubuntu menu which disseppear very progressively under lines and dots. This is the likely use case for 50% of ddclient users who would want to use the dyndns type services. = Howto See http://www.dyndns.com/support/kb/using_ddclient_with_dyndns_services.html for /etc/ddclient.conf settings ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Dependencies: DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 Package: ddclient None [modified: /var/lib/dpkg/info/ddclient.list] PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: ddclient Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic x86_64 UnreportableReason: This is not a genuine Ubuntu package ** Summary changed: - installation failure with router installed + [patch] ddclient debconf doesn't offer 'web' as available configuration -- [patch] ddclient debconf doesn't offer 'web' as available configuration https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/3429 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 32398] Re: Boot splash screen always disappears at reiserfs check.
I am also getting this on Kubuntu Jaunty. The Resierfs filesystems on md RAID are checked every time (I'm shutting down the computer normally) so bootup takes a long time. This is a 1TB filesystem raided over two SATA drives in RAID1 setup. However, on my eeepc netbook/laptop I have a reiserfs filesystem on solid state drive and it starts quite quickly. Possibly the issue is specific to ResierFS on RAID. -- Boot splash screen always disappears at reiserfs check. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/32398 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
