[Bug 1396379] Re: installer uses first EFI system partition found even when directed otherwise

2021-01-29 Thread Robert Bernecky
I have lost about a month of my time with this bug!!
I thought I was doing something wrong with UUID or GPT vs MBR or ZFS or ...
It creamed my live benchmark system that I had spent considerable time
installing and customizing.

Just today, I stumbled onto this archaic bug report, which remains unfixed
after seven years!

Since my system has several nvme drives, I can't just unplug them to work
around the problem.

I agree that this bug is critical, not just "high".

[Bug 1404990] [NEW] system monitor wrong if cpu offline

2014-12-22 Thread Robert Bernecky
Public bug reported:

I observe two faults in the Ubuntu 14.04LTS system monitor:

1. If a CPU is marked offline, the system monitor does not report
any higher-numbered online CPUs. E.g.,:

  a. Run system monitor - it reports 8 CPUs.
  b. Mark CPU 3 offline, via:

   echo 0 | sudo tee /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online

  c. Restart system monitor: It now reports only 3 CPUS (1,2,3).

The system monitor display not change immediately, so I suspect the
immediate failure is caused at system monitor initialization, presumably
because it assumes that the first offline CPU indicates the end of
CPUs for this system. Which is not true, of course.

2. In the system monitor display, CPUs are numbered 1...N, for an N-CPU
system. This is incorrect, because CPUs are numbered from 0, not 1.
This can lead to confusion when looking at what particular processors
are doing.

[Bug 814796] Re: Character does not scale properly as font size changes

2011-07-22 Thread Robert Bernecky
Attached is a screen shot from Open Office. In that, you can see that
the diamond character displays correctly at different sizes
(i.e., slightly larger than the iota and rho) when using Times New Roman,
but displays much smaller when using the fixed-width font.

>From this example, I see that the problem does not really lie in
scaling (because the fixed-width font also scales, as we can
see when looking at 12pt and 40pt), BUT the character is being
rendered considerably smaller than it "should" be. I.e., it should
fill the line.

This comment from the creator of the APL385 font may shed some
light on the cause of the problem:

"Diamond is a BIT odd as it comes from the geometric shapes block,
not the maths area of the font. "

One possibility is that the APL385.ttf font entry for diamond is either wrong,
or has some subtle problem that causes gnome-terminal to get the scaling wrong.
The font is available here:

[Bug 814796] [NEW] Character does not scale properly as font size changes

2011-07-22 Thread Robert Bernecky
Public bug reported:

Some information has been provided here:

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-

Basically, the Diamond character in the APL385.ttf font does not scale
correctly when the system
font size changes using, e.g., System/Preferences/Appearance Preferences/Fonts/
fixed-width font size.

If using an xterm, the character does scale correctly when using CTRL-
right-click to set font size.

[Bug 505053] Re: Installer does not see second IDE drive 32-bit live CD

2010-05-02 Thread Robert Bernecky
I tried installing 10.04 from the CD (day of release version, I think) on a
system with one SATA drive and one PATA drive. The SATA drive was clean;
the PATA drive has an older version of Ubuntu and Win2k installed on it.

The install script showed ONLY the SATA drive - it did not give me any
opportunity to use the PATA drive.

I do not know if this is the same problem as above, or a different one.

[Bug 290704] Re: [fglrx]Computer freeze when switching user

2010-03-23 Thread Robert Bernecky
This is the first good news I've heard on this topic in many moons!

I'm running Intrepid 8.10, with local kernel mods (PAPI) that I don't want to
mess with
at present, so upgrading the kernel at this juncture is not something I want to
do,
at least in the near-term.

If someone can give me some assurance that:

1. The new fglrx driver is likely to work with 8.10, and

2. The crash is likely due to the old fglrx driver, rather than to the
linux kernel.

then, I'll give the new fglrx code a try.

Otherwise, it'll have to wait until I finish my current project and
benchmarks...

Or, if someone can assure me that the kernel/X upgrades are a definite
prerequisite for the fix, then I'll at least know where I'm at with this.

Thanks.
Robert

I also share this frustration. Perhaps someone from ATI can give some
indication of when/if they plan
to repair this problem, If they don't, then we can all remove ATI (and AMD)
from our vendor lists.

I am going to try to point this out to the folks at Theinquirer and Theregister
and see if their news coverage
can increase the interest level at ATI.

[Bug 266911] Re: blank screen when starting second session (tested with guest session)

2009-04-07 Thread Robert Bernecky
1. I still have the bug happening here. However:

2. I have NOT applied any new updates to my system of late, because I have a
number of users who are dependent upon measurements (PAPI) made
with local kernel mods that I am reluctant to reapply before the next
Ubuntu release, scheduled for a few weeks from now.

(Because I'll have to re-jigger my kernel mods to match the new system,
and I screwed them up in Intrepid, so I'm delaying... --- On a side note,
if someone can point me at directions for making local kernel mods in
an Ubuntu-friendly manner, I'd be delighted!)

3. If there are any specific things you want to know about the crash
(basically, with fglrx, any attempt to change user crashes the system
hard.), please let me know, and I'll do a controlled change-user
to pass on any useful(?) info that you need.

In summary, the bug is still present on my system, and I do not,
unless you want immediate feedback, intend to act on it until
after Jaunty is out, at which time I'll upgrade and see if anything has
changed.

[Bug 290704] Re: [fglrx][Intrepid] Computer freeze when switching user

2009-01-21 Thread Robert Bernecky
I am using an AMD64, dual-head, with fglrx. It dies on switch users, of
course.

>From what hede says, dual-head is not the problem, and it just seems to
be fglrx itself. [I do not understand the implications of abatcher's

xinit xterm -- :1 vt8

comment in this regard.

Perhaps we can convince the MyLightWorksFine people at AMD that there are
virtues to
having multiple users signed on at once. It doesn't look like we'll get it
fixed, otherwise.

1. I use multiple users for security reasons - I have development accounts that
have access
to source code, and I try to keep those accounts distinct from my generic
email/web account, etc.
Part of this has to do with keeping my data out of client areas, and vice
versa. It's not
security in the secrecy sense, but in the safety of different accounts when
my fumblefingers err,
just as we avoid running as root.

2. Hede uses multiple users to get full-screen access and access to normal
desktop without
logging in/out. Very convenient.

I would appreciate it if the AMD people responsible for fglrx can give us some
statement as
to why these are not virtuous activities. If they cannot do so, then can they
please give us
some estimate of a repair date for their broken software?

[Bug 118605] Re: [fglrx] freezes upon Logout or Switch user [patch]

2008-12-30 Thread Robert Bernecky
I don't particularly care about graphics performance, but definitely DO want
(1) switch-user to work properly (which, at present, crashes my system), and
(2) dual-head support to work properly.

So, I may not need the apparently useless drivers from AMD/ATI, if they are the
root
of the problem, IF I can get the above features to work properly without fglrx.

Someone claimed that someone from ATI/AMD said that "nobody uses switch-user,
so we don't have to fix it". This statement is rumor, so I don't want to beat
up on
ATI/AMD (perhaps), but let me assure you that the need to run concurrent users
with different permissions is very critical to my work. If NVIDIA can support
the above two requirements, I would switch to them in an instant, IFF
they work. My past experience with NVIDIA does not give me hope here.

\begin{rant}
If ATI/AMD would just publish their device (GPU) specifications, we could
do the open-source thing and life would be good. At present, I have NO
good suppliers of GPUs to go to. This is as bad as the mainframe world
of the 1970s, when IBM refused to publish their I/O channel specifications,
in the hope of keeping their monopoly. Perhaps someone should sue
ATI/AMD and NVIDIA to get them to publish their interface specifications.
\end{rant}

BTW, these problems, from what I've seen, may not be specific to ATI/AMD or
NVIDIA, because it seems to appear with both GPUs. If so, my apologies to
the appropriate vendor(s). If not, will you people please get off your
butt and fix things?

Thanks. Your Unsatisfied Linux Customer.

One possible idea: The /home directory was imported from an earlier release,

[Bug 270377] Re: content of window do not redraw automatically (intrepid)

2008-11-10 Thread Robert Bernecky
I am experiencing similar problems with a dual-head AMD-64 SMP box with ATI
video card. I have a solid
failure, with atomix: the screen does not update properly (see attachment for
visual after "new game".

If I minimize/maximize the window, it refreshes properly.

If I move another window over the atomix window, it refreshes properly (when
the atomix window
reappears).

This fails in dual-head mode with fglrx restricted video drivers enabled, and
in single-head mode
with those drivers disabled. I'll check this again after a reboot with disabled
drivers, and see what
/var/log/Xorg.0.log has to say about video driver.

As with Shoofy, I carried over my home directory from an Intrepid Alpha system.
The system
as it stands now, aside from /home, is a fresh install of the Intrepid release,
running gnome.

[Bug 118605] Re: [fglrx] freezes upon Logout or Switch user [patch]

2008-11-10 Thread Robert Bernecky
Well, I now agree that the bug is still there: after a recent update,
if "restricted drivers" are enabled (ATI fglrx), the system crashes
immediately after System/Logout/Change User or on an
attempt to change users with the Fast User Switch applet.

If "restricted drivers" are disabled, the user switching works OK.

Not sure how we can resolve this, but am willing to help.

[Bug 118605] Re: [fglrx] freezes upon Logout or Switch user [patch]

2008-11-10 Thread Robert Bernecky
1. I'm running gnome.

2. I think I installed dual-head this way:

 - normal install of 8.10 release
 - System/Administration/Hardware Drivers: enable ATI drivers.

3. At this point, I think the system claims that a reboot is needed.
I'm not sure if that is the case...

4. I was NOT able to set up dual-head support using the expected
(Well, it was expected by me, anyway...) System/Preferences/Screen
Resolution support.

5. I WAS able to set up dual-head support using Applications/Accessories/ATI
Catalyst Control Center

6. I'll have a look at /etc/ati/authatieventsd.s and see if I can puzzle my way
through it for gnome.

[Bug 266911] Re: Black screen after clicking to start a Guest Session

2008-11-04 Thread Robert Bernecky
1. I have the same problem, and am running a dual-head config (fglrx).

2. I copied the /home partition from an Ubuntu Hardy meets the creature from
Intrepid Alphas
onto this fresh Ubuntu 8.10 release install.

3. I don't much care about the guest stuff, but wanted to switch users.
That also crashes.

Output from above command is:
  sudo sh -ex /usr/share/gdm/guest-session/guest-session-setup.sh

+ USER=guest
+ PWSTAT=guest P 11/03/2008 0 9 7 -1
+ echo guest P 11/03/2008 0 9 7 -1
+ cut -f2 -d
+ [ P != L ]
+ echo User account guest already exists and is not locked
User account guest already exists and is not locked
+ exit 1

I am going to delete the guest account (via
System/Administration/UsersAndGroups) and
readd it the same way, to see if that helps or not.

[Bug 290704] Re: [Intrepid] Computer freeze when switching user

2008-11-03 Thread Robert Bernecky
Hmm. I am having same bug, and also some confusion:

1. I am running fglrx on Intrepid release 8.10 on an amd64 SMP box.

2. Switching to "guest" or "guest session" produces the black screen and system
hang/crash
described by Harm Jans.

3. I do not see how to switch users any more - shouldn't there be a "switch
users"
line down around the restart/shutdown/hiberate/suspend/logout" lines?

4. I am not running compiz, but am running dual-head monitors.

5. The failure is 100% reproducible.

[Bug 227003] Re: boot stalls in "waiting for root file system"

2008-08-28 Thread Robert Bernecky
I've just started running this Intrepid kernel (and all the broken
video and sound stuff), according to dmesg:

[0.00] Linux version 2.6.27-1-generic ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version
4.3.1
 (Ubuntu 4.3.1-9ubuntu1) ) #1 SMP Sat Aug 23 23:19:01 UTC 2008 (Ubuntu 2.6.27-1.
2-generic)

Rebooting from the panel "restart" menu was a frequent cause of the hang, and
I tried that (once) without problems.

HOWEVER, as noted above, this Opteron 165 box (ASUS A8N-VM CSM) was upgraded to
BIOS level 1007,
after which the hang did not recur. Ergo, I'm really not the best person to
judge the success
of the new kernel.

2008-08-12 Thread Robert Bernecky
I have not seen a recurrence of this fault (unlike the 972 other gnome-related

- the other two Ubuntu boxes are running Hardy, of some flavor.

- the printer is on a USB connect on one of the other boxes. It MAY have
been connected locally to the failing box via parallel port for the above
failure.

- Like the comment above, my printers are generally kept powered off until

[Bug 118605] Re: [fglrx] freezes upon Logout or Switch user [patch]

2008-08-05 Thread Robert Bernecky
I'm running Intrepid Alpha 3, and just reinstalled the (July 21?) ATI drivers
from scratch.
That produces bug#247376. AIGLX settings don't appear to be relevant.
So, I consider the ATI drivers to be, at this stage,
completely useless for my work. From the looks of the other bug reports hanging
off
bug#247376, it looks that ATI is not highly motivated to do the repair work,
since
those bug reports date back to February 2008.

[Bug 118605] Re: [fglrx] freezes upon Logout or Switch user [patch]

2008-07-29 Thread Robert Bernecky
Me, too!

I'm running an ATI HD 3450, with Xinerama enabled and apparently working
properly.
HOWEVER, any attempt to log off, or to change users by either the user
switcher or
little-green-man menu, result in black screens and hang. Hard reset is the only
way out: ctrl-alt-bksp doesn't fix it. After I file this, I'm going to see if
restarting
gdm from an ssh, started BEFORE the logoff, helps at all.

I'm running Xinerama, and ATI accelerated drivers are marked as "in-use", but
DISABLED,
by the System/Admin/Hardware Drivers page. I'm trying to run GNOME, across the
board,
for all users, but am not sure how to force that.

The drivers were installed by envy-gt a few minutes ago. All Ubuntu-based
updates
are installed, to the best of my knowledge.

The various patches described by Ilya, etc., appear to have already been made
by
Ubuntu system upgrades. The Stefan patch appears to have already been made, too,
but I'm not sure about any GDM patches. I am running GDM...

This is getting on my nerves, because EVERY TIME I dare to hit the system
upgrade
button, X goes off the air for days or more. I just replaced my NVIDIA card
with an ATI
card, in the hope that it would be more house-broken, but instead, it just
looks to
be also-broken.

[Bug 230744] Re: Preferences/Sound segfaults in gnome-sound-pro

The bug reporter refuses to send along the dump until I update x11-common,

then rebooted, but I get the same segfault.

I'll eventually upgrade the rest of the bits, and when I get the system

2008-07-23 Thread Robert Bernecky
1. I am not sure how to tell if I am running the" Ubuntu Stable Release" or
not.
I am a bit behind on updates: Update manager claims I can add 104 updates.
I am reluctant to do so, because the last several times I've done it, my
Nvidia
X11 went to bit heaven, and it took a few days of screwing around to get
the dual-monitor support working properly again.

2. I enabled /etc/default/apport, but did NOT yet restart the box. I'll do that
in a second. However, at this point, if I do System/Preferences/Sound,
I get this in dmesg:

[ 847.159824] gnome-sound-pro[7274]: segfault at 48e2b9e0 rip
7f66497456a8 rsp 7fff548c8d30 error 4

3. There is no files in /var/crash. I'm going to reboot this box and try
it again.

[Bug 222176] Re: initramfs error/problem ubuntu 8.04 - RESOLVED

2008-07-18 Thread Robert Bernecky
I upgraded the ASUS A8N-VM CSM BIOS to this level (the most recently
available on the ASUS web site as of a week or two ago):
A8N-VM-ASUS-CSM-1007.ROM

I also REMOVED the "all-generic-ide" line from /boot/grub/menu.lst.
Since that time, I have not observed ANY of the hangs I reported earlier.

IMO, this problem is resolved.

[Bug 172563] Re: Ubuntu often stops when starting up

2008-06-09 Thread Robert Bernecky
This is on two up-to-date Hardy systems, both with Nvidia chipsets on
ASUS motherboards, with SATA hard drives.

One system absolutely refused to boot after the Hardy upgrade. This did not
make me very happy.
The other system stalls in the initramfs world about 2 times out of 3 on a
power-on or reboot sequence.

What did make me happy was a crude workaround (which I do NOT consider a proper
fix), of
adding "all_generic_ide" to the boot stanza in /boot/grub/menu.lst:

kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-18-generic root=UUID=1e3fbd55-5dfa-
4cee-b9c7-8bc8bd3982ff ro splash all_generic_ide

The hang has not happened since then. I have no idea of the impact of
this change on performance, etc.

[Bug 222176] Re: initramfs error/problem ubuntu 8.04

2008-06-08 Thread Robert Bernecky
Adding all_generic_ide to the grab boot paragraph/phrase appears to have fixed
the problem: several boot-ups from
power-on and from panel/runninggreenmanexitsign/restart have proceeded without
the hang. I have not
observed any hangs since making the change.

However, I have NO idea how this change affects disk performance. Can
someone perhaps leave a note on that topic?

Thanks.
Bob

ps: The ASUS motherboard SATA controller claims to be an Nvidia MCP51,
if that helps.

[Bug 222176] Re: initramfs error/problem ubuntu 8.04

2008-06-05 Thread Robert Bernecky
I'm having similar problems on two ASUS boxes, both with SATA drives
attached.

One of them, an ASUS V8M-MX/S, refuses to boot AT ALL after the Hardy upgrade.
It always drops into the initramfs screen.
Adding all_generic_ide "fixed" it, in the sense that it now boots, but I have
no idea if this has resulted in degraded performance, etc.

The other box, also an ASUS, but I don't have the MB name handy, is an
Opteron-based board. It frequently requires
several hard boots (reset button) to boot after power-up, stopping in the same
screen as above. Also, reboots
from the shutdown menu frequently stall the same way. I have NOT tried
all_generic_ide, but will do that and see if
it helps.

This is irritating, and I'd like to see it fixed. If someone has
fault-isolation suggestions (NOT workarounds - I want this
fixed properly), I'm happy to try them, within reason.

I'll post an update to this after a few reboots with all_generic_ide.

[Bug 230744] [NEW] Preferences/Sound segfaults in gnome-sound-pro

2008-05-15 Thread Robert Bernecky
Public bug reported:

I am running a Hardy system that has been incrementally upgraded from earlier
releases
via the update manager, through Hardy alphas.

The system is an ASUS two-core Opteron, w/ NVIDIA chipset.

The gnome panel selection of System/Preferences/Sound appears to
hang for about 10 seconds, but a look at dmesg reveals that
gnome-sound-pro has segfaulted. This is recent behavior - it worked
fine until a few weeks ago.

The system is up-to-date as of 2008-05-15.

[Bug 227003] Re: boot stalls in "waiting for root file system"

2008-05-05 Thread Robert Bernecky
Thank you!

I suspect some sort of race condition (perhaps related to multi-core?), since
the failures
are quite erratic. Failure at power-up is quite common. Failure during reboot
is more frequent
during soft reboot (logoff/shutdown/restart button) than during hard reboot
(reset button
on machine case).

[Bug 227003] [NEW] boot stalls in "waiting for root file system"

2008-05-05 Thread Robert Bernecky
Public bug reported:

See also bug#172563.

Boot after power-on and some soft reboots (from Linux) cause the system
to hang in "waiting for root file system". Eventually (several minutes later),
the system drops into initramfs, with this message:

ATA_ID[4112] main: HDIO_GET_IDENTITY failed for /dev/.tmp-8-16

I have the same problem. The system stalls at during reboot at "waiting for
root file system",
and eventually (a minute or two later) drops into "initramfs"(?).

This often happens when the system does a soft reboot.
After power-on, I usually have to reboot 2 or 3 times before it takes off.
Looks like race condition of some sort.

I'm running on a two-core Opteron, with latest Hardy fixes as of
2008-05-04.

Let me know what help I can provide here, as the failure is relatively frequent,
although I do not know how to reproduce it at will.

[Bug 210226] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in rw_screen_list_outputs()

2008-04-10 Thread Robert Bernecky
Hi, James,

I looked around, hoping that there would be error log files in /tmp or
somewhere else obvious, but I don't see anything.

There were several logs generated and sent along, if I believe the
crash button stuff on the gnome menu bar...

If you can tell me where they were sent, I'll dig them up.
Sorry for the confusion...

Oops. I thought they got attached automagically. Lemme see
if I can find out where they went...

2008-04-10 Thread Robert Bernecky
2008-04-10

Just installed a brazillion Hardy patches. Now seeing several sorts
of failures:

- repeated gnome-settings-daemon failures (attached)
- gnome-power-manager failure (See Bug #99505 attachment)
- applet.py failure (See Bug #153610).

[Bug 99505] Re: [apport] gnome-power-manager crashed with SIGSEGV in XInternAtom()

2008-04-10 Thread Robert Bernecky
2008-04-10

Just upgraded a gazillion Hardy components. I was getting gnome-settings-daemon
failures
before (See bug# 210226), but this one looks new to my system.

I'll put a note in 210226 pointing here...

[Bug 153610] Re: applet.py crashed with IOError in module>()

2008-04-10 Thread Robert Bernecky
2008-04-10

I've seen this failure a few times on new updates of Hardy for the past week(?)
or
so.

If it helps at all, the local printer and other hosts are generally powered off
when
I boot this system.

The failure seems to happen more or less spontaneously, shortly after I login
to gnome.

[Bug 210226] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in rw_screen_list_outputs()

2008-04-06 Thread Robert Bernecky
Still fails as of 2008-04-06, with this day's upgrades.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a
Linux rattler 2.6.24-15-generic #1 SMP Fri Apr 4 03:10:59 UTC 2008 x86_64
GNU/Linux

I've observed the following:

1. Some upgrades disable the nvidia graphics driver, dropping me back into
680x480 land.
The way I fixed these was to use the command-line apt-get to reinstall the
nvidia drivers
again, then do (I think...) nvidia-install again, then configure them.

2. The system doesn't properly sense Samsung SyncMaster 191T settings, although
it is claimed to be Plug'n'Play. I'm confused at the moment about the LG
226WA,
but I think it does better.

At any rate, some updates seem to lose either monitor characteristics, or
nvidia driver,
   or both.

3. Built-in table for above monitors don't seem to exist. I have to pick generic
TFT size setting, but that looks to work ok, despite being a nuisance.

[The following is probably unrelated bug, but just in case it's
relevant...]:

4. After soft reboot (from shutdown menu), and sometimes on system power-on,
the system never completes booting. It drops into initramfs(?) after
thinking
over the root file system stuff during bootup.

It says "ata_id[4091] main: HDIO_GET_ID... {can't read my handwriting...}
failed for
   /dev/.tmp/8-16.

Hard reboot via reset button has fixed this boot failure, thus far.

[Bug 164172] Re: Print jobs are not working with gnome applications

2008-01-25 Thread Robert Bernecky
Hmm. This is a few minutes after the above post. I just connected a laptop
running a 7.04 version
of Ubuntu to the same network, and it quite happily prints the PDF file from
evince
on the laptop to the Lexmark printer.

AND, after that print job completed, I was able to print OK from the desktop
connected directly
to the Lexmark.

We'll see if anything works after a reboot...

[Bug 164172] Re: Print jobs are not working with gnome applications

2008-01-25 Thread Robert Bernecky
I just upgraded CUPS on two 7.10 systems yesterday, then tried to network the
Lexmark Optra E310 and an Epson Stylus Photo 800, one on each system.
The Epson box's system Gives the "problem connecting to the CUPS server" error
message when I open the System->Administration->Printing window.

The other box appears to have several faults, which may or may not be
related:

The Lexmark box merely evaporates any output directed at it from evince.
However, I CAN print
a test OK from the System->Administration->Printing window. Also, printing via
lpr works OK.

I tried converting the PDF file I wanted to print into PostScript using evince
"output to file", but
that results in a PostScript file that kills the printer with blinky yellow
error lights.

ANY suggestions are welcome...

[Bug 110804] Re: Lexmark Optra E310 not work in edgy, feisty

2007-12-06 Thread Robert Bernecky
I'm running, or trying to run, an Optra E310 in 7.10 (I think).

I had selected the Optra E310 driver. No go: dies with the "inode permission"
bug.
I tried stopping apparmor, with no better luck.

I then tried "generic PostScript foomatic" driver: no go.

I then tried "generic PostScript" (non-foomatic) driver.

This sort of works, but a fair number of documents make
the printer light blink for a few seconds, then the yellow
printer error light blanks, then the rest is silence.
The job is then marked as "completed". I would guess this
means the generic PS driver is buggy.

On one of the above, dmesg gets:

[17972.993541] lp0: ECP mode

messages. Not sure if that's good or bad.

Suggestions/recommendations welcome.

Robert
