[Bug 1018821] [NEW] Connection Information window doesn't update upon changing connection
Public bug reported: open the Connection Information window accessible via Indicator Menu Network Connection Information keep it open in the foreground and change the connection observe that not all fields are being updated, but Speed: is. The title of this window is Active Network Connections. This is incorrect, since the first field of this listing ( Connection Name ) is never updated. [Bug 393808] Re: Allow displaying different virtual desktops on different devices
the problem this would help solve would be for example to easily assign a full screen application, be it a webapp in a browser or a presentation, to a seperate display output channel, all this being done by an ordinary user with no expert knowledge on a desktop window management level. thank you. problem solved. the alterternative would be to write xorg.conf from scratch, and that means the user has to work with the command line to assign a specific picture to a specific output and the user must learn the extremely poorly documented configuration language of xorg.conf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/393808 Title: Allow displaying different virtual desktops on different devices To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/393808/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 616447] Re: Quit does not actually quit applications
if it doesn't quit, don't call it quit. That's the law of correspondence. Please simply correct the label to close wherever you know that it doesn't make the process tree of an application's pid quit. This is already known to be valid for the quicklist quit entries of Rhythmbox, Empathy and Transmission. It is clearly wrong to afford a button labeled Quit, well knowing that it will NOT make anything quit. We're actually cheating the user, some people consider this a security issue, some might consider it an intrusion. This is trivial, so it needs to be fixed wherever reported. Analysing the dependency tree of a pid together with its associated frontend application and window set is a whole other task, which has nothing to do with labelling a button or list item correctly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/616447 Title: Quit does not actually quit applications To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/616447/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 891539] [NEW] Fullscreen via F11 should work
Public bug reported: at the moment, pressing F11 in most applications in Ubuntu sends the application main window into fullscreen mode. Fullscreen mode is important, especially when one wants to do dedicated work that requires using the screen edges and corners WITHIN an application. When an application main window is maximized, touching the left edge of the screen would still bring up the launcher, which would cover often crucial UI elements of the respective suite, e.g. Libreoffice, Gimp, Inkscape. Pressing F11 to take the application main window into fullscreen mode remedies this problem. Unfortunately, inconsistently with nearly all other apps, LibreOffice binds a different operation to F11, while fullscreen is available via CTRL+SHIFT+J. i don't agree, imo this is a flaw i.e. a bug in how the dash works. perhaps it's a design bug, interaction design that is. if an item has focus, it should indicate that to the user. the current behaviour is that the respective item does not indicate whether or not it is focused, unless spacially navigated to via mouse or keyboard. Appmenu (File, Edit, View etc.. ) was only visible on mouse-over, which is good imo. The text displayed in its stead was document viewer, the descriptive name of the Application. This is foobar, since it doesn't give the user information about *what* document is being presented. After a mouse over to the appmenu area, the application name disappeared, and the document title was displayed instead, which makes sense. i am guessing this happens only when a document is first opened. After the first mouseover to the AppMenu area, the document title is shown instead. AIUI the app name should *never* show up in the AppMenu area, since we want the system to be invisible and to just work.
