Re: update IOS 7.0.4

2013-11-15 Thread Alan Paganelli
You can update directly from your iPhone. I did it yesterday on my iPhone 4
and my 5s via my WI-FI home connection. The update starts by downloading
the new update file first and then installs it. You even get a warning that
your phone is restarting. When the update is complete, your phone comes up
with voice over turned on. No need for iTunes or your home computer.

Go to settings, general, software update. There the present version of your
software will be given you'll be told either your software is up to date or
the new version will be mentioned. Then there will be a update button to
double tap if you want to update your phone.

All updates can be installed anywhere in the world providing it is
available there. In fact you do not need to have an Apple Id to update iOS
devices. You do however need wifi so cellular connections are out of the
question. The only other option is to update via iTunes.

iOS 7.0.4 download

iOS 7.0.4 has been released by Apple for compatible iPhone, iPad, and
iPod touch models, with a
build of 11B554a. The update includes several bug fixes and improvements,
and addresses an issue

with FaceTime calling that caused video chat and voice calls
<http://osxdaily.com/2013/11/07/make-facetime-audio-voip-calls-ios/> to
fail continuously under
some circumstances. Other small feature changes may be present, but have
not been specifically

mentioned or discovered yet.

The iOS 7.0.4 update is small but users are still advised to backup their
iOS devices to iCloud or
iTunes, if not both, before installing the update on their respective
hardware. The update is
available for iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPad
2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air,
iPad Mini, Retina iPad Mini, and the iPod touch 5th gen. Additionally,
iOS 6.1.5 is available for
the iPod touch 4th gen, which resolves the same FaceTime issues for that
device.

Download iOS 7.0.4 with OTA

For most users, the easiest way to get iOS 7.0.4 on their devices is to
use the over-the-air update

mechanism:

* Open "Settings" and go to "General", then to "Software Update"

* Choose "Download & Install" and agree to the terms and
conditions to begin the update

Users must be on a wi-fi network to be able to download the update
through OTA, despite the delta
update size being about 18MB. It may sit on "Preparing Update." for a
while before completing, this
seems to be routine for just about every iOS device, just let it sit and
it should complete

eventually.

Another option is to connect a device to a computer with iTunes and
download the complete update

through there.

Experienced users who are comfortable using firmware files
<http://osxdaily.com/2010/11/23/how-to-use-ipsw-files/> can also choose
to download IPSW files
directly from Apple's servers using the links below, then apply the
update manually through iTunes.
This is generally considered more advanced and is best reserved for those
who have experience with

updating through IPSW.

iOS 7.0.4 IPSW Direct Download Links

For best results, right-click the respective link and choose "Save As".
Be sure the file has a

".ipsw" extension when saved.

Any report if this update solve the problem with either VO is awfully loud on
phone calls and other audio driven apps such as Papa Sangre etc?
I found that since update to 7, i need to put VO volume under 30% to have a
decent phone conversation, and have vo volume on 5% when playing Papa Sengre.

I think it’s a good idea to keep in mind that updates also have security fixes,
even though specific accessibility issues aren’t addressed. If there’s a

2013-11-15 Thread Wil James
The jumping to the top of the screen isn't a specific app thing, it's iOS
related. I get that in Mail, safari, Tweetlist, Twitterific, and a host of
other apps. Hopefully, iOS 7.1 will fix this oddity.

I think Pablo was being facetious, which I don't think is such a good
idea for a mailing list. I don't think it helps though to call him or
others on list whiners, and I don't think it helps to return
facetiousness with sarcasm. It'll just perpetuate the pointless list
traffic if not even make it worse.

BTW, I had three different Nokia phones, and I didn't have any of the
troubles you described with any of them. People on this list have also
had to return their iPhones, so I'm not sure your experience with your
Nokia phone has any bearing on this discussion.

and why would you think this? I'm just wondering what your reasoning is.

I see it myself in Feeddler, but others have reported similar problems
in other apps. It also started with the upgrade to IOS 7.0, although I
know this doesn't rule out a Feeddler bug.

I have reported it to Apple but not the Feeddler developer.

This message was written entirely using the iOS keyboard with VO. I never lost
my place while writing it because I understand what is going on and have become
good at onscreen typing. I tried to tell you how to correct for the timing
change Apple made, but you do not want any part of learning to adapt. However,
to say it cannot be done or cannot be done quickly and well is completely
wrong. I just proved so with this long message, so I am losing patience with
your complaints. Unless I agree fully with you, I am wrong. No, this is not the
case. You are wrong when you make exagerated statements because you are
frustated. You don't like change, then don't change. But stop saying I am wrong
because I adapt rather than just whining because certain things have changed.

All updates can be installed anywhere in the world providing it is
available there. In fact you do not need to have an Apple Id to update
iOS devices. You do however need wifi so cellular connections are out of
the question. The only other option is to update via iTunes.

Users must be on a wi-fi network to be able to download the update through OTA,
despite the delta
update size being about 18MB. It may sit on "Preparing Update." for a while
before completing, this
seems to be routine for just about every iOS device, just let it sit and it
should complete
eventually.

Another option is to connect a device to a computer with iTunes and download
the complete update
through there.

Experienced users who are comfortable using firmware files
<http://osxdaily.com/2010/11/23/how-to-use-ipsw-files/> can also choose to
download IPSW files
directly from Apple's servers using the links below, then apply the update
manually through iTunes.
This is generally considered more advanced and is best reserved for those who
have experience with
updating through IPSW.

Re: update IOS 7.0.4

2013-11-15 Thread Pablo Morales
Yes, I know it. I work with computers every day, and every hour of my life. How
ever, and despite who gets upset with my following words. IOs 7 brought new
things, but also it is the IOs with more bugs that I have seen. It is the point
that I don't like, why a company who charge almost 1000 dollars for a phone,
every IOs is getting more and more bugs? The response that every operated
system has bugs is a wrong answer. When we pay a little bit of money, the
service, or product that we are paying, will be like the amount that we paid,
very little. When we pay more money, to good companies, we are expecting good
things, products and services of high quality, not cheap things, not operated
systems with bunches of bugs. I don't understand why the people who defend
apple, is not able to understand that with this attitude they are accepting
high prices, by less quality. Later if we do not make pression, the iPhones
will be products of low quality. Now we are looking IOs with so much bugs.
Jesus, I am surprised with the things that I am reading in the list, and in
list in another countries in another languages, and here the people defend
positions that goes against themselves?
No, come on. I am not able to write emails with my iPhone, and before I did it
so many times. So the response that it is because I don't know how move my
fingers, it is a very poor appraise of my capabilities, and I consider it
offensive.
and not only against me, against every body in the list who is getting the same
problem.
I don't know what they are gaining defending some body that is keeping the
prices too high, but aat the same time they are reducing the quality.
Later, later we will been conftable with poor and poor IOs, and never will
remember how it works before. And just to finish. I know that IOs never will be
perfect, but either it needs to be the worse. Look on internet, the problems
that blind and sighted people is getting with the last IOs. That apple is a
great product?
Yes, and I hope that they continue making great things, and because of that I
am making presure on this matter.

comes out and then there will be IOS 9 that will come out with bugs and this
has been happening ever since computers have existed so you’d better start

I am surprised. I understood, here, in this email list. That IOs 7.0.3 has
no bugs. But reading the emails related with this last update, and reading this
last email. I am understanding that I wasn't wrong, when I said that IOs 7, has

I glad to know, that I am not the only one who recognize that IOs 7, has

iOS 7.0.4 has been released by Apple for compatible iPhone, iPad,
and iPod touch models, with a build of 11B554a. The update includes several bug
fixes and improvements, and addresses an issue with FaceTime calling that
caused video chat and voice calls to fail continuously under some
circumstances. Other small feature changes may be present, but have not been
specifically mentioned or discovered yet.

The iOS 7.0.4 update is small but users are still advised to backup
their iOS devices to iCloud or iTunes, if not both, before installing the
update on their respective hardware. The update is available for iPhone 4,
iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air,
iPad Mini, Retina iPad Mini, and the iPod touch 5th gen. Additionally, iOS
6.1.5 is available for the iPod touch 4th gen, which resolves the same FaceTime
issues for that device.

Download iOS 7.0.4 with OTA
For most users, the easiest way to get iOS 7.0.4 on their devices
is to use the over-the-air update mechanism:

· Open “Settings” and go to “General”, then to “Software
Update”
· Choose “Download & Install” and agree to the terms and
conditions to begin the update
Users must be on a wi-fi network to be able to download

Hang on a minute, when i first got my very first Nokia 3310, i got to sent my
phone to Nokia itself, because it crashes after 5 minutes of turning the phone
on. Then did gave me a new phone though, which, either i can go without

Re: update IOS 7.0.4

2013-11-14 Thread Ricardo Walker

were no bugs. If you can find me the post of a person on list saying that, I
would appreciate it.
