Yep, just like this one, eh? And if you want to heat something up, just
mount the plate amp on top!

Yeah, I didn't really think that one out. Maybe I could find an old cast

Hmmm, an old pot belly would be a sleeper, and might have enough
internal volume, round and the obvious place to put the driver
is the bottom pointing down.

Actually, the -minimum- requirement is 1 amp--it's in the Slim Devices
spec sheet as well as measured by someone on AudioCircle.

by a wide margin. In my system, the SB drives a Behringer DCX2496 which
feeds the Grace/K1000 and also (optionally) a North Creek Poseidon 10"
subwoofer. For some music, such as bass-heavy jazz and rock, the sub

The Grace is nice becuase it has everything in one unit. It's not
regarded as being the best DAC or the best headphone amp, but it's
decent at both and as a combo it has value.
For a lot of opinions, spend a few hours/days keyword searching

No, but they are not powerful enough. You need at least 1.5 amps with
your 5 volts.

Chris,
I consider the quality of the analogue outputs is excellent.
I have compared the dac in the Squeezebox to the dacs in my Bryston
pre/pro - by feeding the Squeezebox analogue outputs to my Bryston
processor in analogue by-pass mode (ie no digital processing involved
in the processor), and
I really like the different wood options on those SVS subs. Big plus on
the WAF vs. my big black Paradigm PS-1200. If they look good and sound
good then what more can you ask for? Which model do you have Dan?

Hi AF
I am not planning to use a DAC as the SB is in a second system. Couple
of questions if I may
Have you or any of your mates tried the analogue outputs?
Is this supply plug and play?
TIA

Any sub you chose will be a compromise between
Price/Performance/WAF/Your tastes/and What your looking for. It has to
sound good to you in your living room.
Since no one has mentioned SVS subs, I will. After many auditions of
other brands were unsatisfying, I bought a 12" w/525w built-in amp fr
