Well your problem is with the static line
You have the outside IP for the exchange server set to 192.10.10.196
You want to change the 196 to 195 because thats what your DNS record is pointing to.
Or change your DNS record to point to 196.

Have you tried changing the Users Password
I don't know if your using AD (I will assume you are).
When ever I have this problem with a Mac user its usually do to an error with the
Kerberos ticket.
Changing the Password on a PC or through ADUC usually fixes the problem.

This users host file matches other (working) users hosts files.

What version of exchange are you running.
This sometimes happens with my Exchange 2k server.
I end up needing to reboot the server and then everything works again.
It seems that the exchange server looses connection the the DC for some reason.

I had the same problem on my account.
I deleted my Outlook settings under the Application Data folder in your Profile.
It rebuilt its settings and with the default and it went back to the normal speed.

Michael,
So far no one has suggested this on the list so I think I will. Maybe
the install of outlook is corrupted (its probably a longshot). You might
want to try to uninstall Outlook/Office and the reinstall it.

Jim,
Did
you get your problem resolved?
If not
are you using Outlook 2001 or Outlook 8.x.
If
your using the old version try Outlook 2001 from http://www.microsoft.com/mac/
Also
are you resolving the names using DNS. If so how are the macs getting their IP
address, DHCP or
PocketPC's. ActiveSync is much more Win2k friendly. You
just install it and most of the time it works. I have had issues with
USB Sync cradles but I haven't had any complaints from my users in a
long time.

If you have Macs on your network that use Exchange I would highly
suggest looking at Outlook 2001 for the Mac. Its much nicer the 8.2 and
you can actually use the collaborative features with PC users.

Actually the LDAP situation only applies to Exchange 5.5 Running on an
AD DC.
But yes you need to install the exchange Admin tools on any machine you
