I guess I'm just lucky, at least with respect to Evolution.
For me the filters are still a bit quirky (I use IMAP, with extensive
folders, and filters...). But so far, I think I can live with it.

I tried downgrading it back to v 1.0, no help. I have to assume

Does anyone know of a good supplier, that builds a decent case?

choosing "one" is going to be difficult. :)
Lian-Li are excellent, but they're out of the price range I had in mind
for this project. However, www,colorcases.com has some good looking
cases that are fitting in well.

Linux
you go to www.colorcases.com
Near the top is the first of a couple columns of button bars.
Select the first one, marked "Computer Cases". Within that section,
select "Aluminum Cases", and you will find many Lian-Li cases.
Excellent quality, but bring your (wifes) check-book.

It used to be, in times of old, there was a script included with these
distributions, called "genhdlist". When involked, it would (as you would
expect), generate an "hdlist" file.
I cannot seem to find that file anywhere now. In its absense, how do you
generate an hdlist?

Why does nearly everything with Linux need to be a work-around?
It would be nice if things worked the way their supposed to, without
requiring a bunch of hacks, and work-arounds.
That is my single biggest complaint about it. It's often very
discouraging. Esp. when friends are over (the
uld I do? I didn't ignore it!
You'll probably have your list privledges revolked for this.

hows that gnome-guile-devel is already installed
anyway. But Guppi doesn't like that one.
Has anyone installed gnuCash (I KNOW somebody has!)? If so, what am I
missing here? (besides a bucketload of common sense?
Thanks! I really appreciate any pointers I can get on this one.

I got it.
I gave up on the Guppi.xxx.xxx-mdk.rpm, and got the one off of Ximian.
It installed without complaint. Following that, GnuCash installed, and
is running.
Thanks anyway.
Now, on to learning it. ;)

I know these things can be frustrating. But with enough information, the

really just a curiosity question. Not everyone can afford to
build a box based on the Soyo Dragon+, they may want something resulting
in a box half that price.
So drag out your calculators, and lets see what can be built on budget
hardware (must be current stuff. No 486 boxes).
Thanks!

Just to throw my .02 into this:
I have an IBM PC that does something similar. My wife & kids use it.
After it has been running a while, it just locks up, for no real reason.
The keyboard & mouse simply stop responding. The only way out is to
throw the big red switch.
It currently has Win98 on it.
