Try Spot for OS X,
Jim,
That error will be fixed this evening with the 1.16.1 release of
PowerSDR.. 1.16.0 will work if you have access to the 1.2.10 version
of firmware. Otherwise hang on until this evening.

PowerSDR V1.16.1 is now available on the home page and works with the
updated firmware of 1.3.0.0 for the Flex 5000 series. It is not
necessary to update the FireWire Flex Driver at this time, version
3.2.0.1556 is the correct FireWire version to operate with either V14 or
V16. You must
2 small issues
1. I guess Ed hasn't merged his W2RF RX2 svn as yet as that reports wrong
firmware.
2. both V1.16.1 and the 'Test' svn 2499 have a slight delay of cw start when
using CWX.
There is no delay when I use WinWarbler/WinKeyer2 combo.
Or just paddles/WinKeyer2
I did not experience
If you have a second receiver installed, you should re-run the RX level
calibrations after loading PowerSDR 1.16.1 (Ctrl - Shift - R) just the
Level and Image test.. I did notice that you should reboot the
computer and power down the radio and back up before running the tests..
73,
Seems that RX2 could be the nemesis that plagues the SDR-5000 and PowerSDR.
Aren't updates fun! There have been issues from the get-go. Not complaining,
just feeling sorry for the troops.

From the archives:
Klaus, DK7XL was able to get his hands on a FA-66 for a short time to do
some initial performance measurements on the soundcard.
Due to the limited amount of time with the FA-66, these do not represent
the optimized performance numbers, but are representative of the FA-66.

have been ordered!

Dear Flexers,
I thought it would be in order to give the reason for updating the
calibration of RX2 after installation of the new firmware/PowerSDR update.
We made an improvement in the accuracy of the local oscillator (DDS)
quadrature phase setting on RX2 with this release. Because of this
Brian, Brian and others who offered tips.
During a breaker by breaker search I discovered the culprit was the battery
charger in an electric scooter that I have.
Brian L -- looks like you get the prize 'cause I imagine the charger uses a
switching power supply.

There are burnin issues with any phased delivery of functionality as
large as RX2. I actually do not feel like its been that bumpy a road.
Some of the perception is because we all live off of the SVN releases
which by definition are in test.
I guess the bumps yield goosebumps (I apologize) in
If we do not have RX2 installed is there any immediate need to update the
firmware and SDR to 1.16.1. Currently using 1.14.0 and everything is running
well.
Means I will have to reset all my Mic settings again!

Yes, you really should update. But it isn't mandatory unless you want to use
PowerSDR 1.16.1
There are other fixes and enhancements with the firmware update that are not
RX2 specific. See the firmware Release notes for more information.
There are a bunch of PowerSDR fixes too. You can review
Heres some thoughts!
1. Did you reboot your computer after installing 1.16.1? I understood
from Dudleys note that it was required.
2. Did you follow all the steps in the KC article (no antenna

96000/1024, nothing else running on
One other thing. You need a clean default database where the only things
setup are sampling rate (96KHz), buffer size (1024) and the Antenna selection
set to simple mode and RX1/TX on ANT-1 and RX2 on RX-1 TAP.
If that doesn't work try doing a radio hardware reset.
Also, what operating
Mack,
Be sure to reboot and reset the radio, then try the tests again, with
the buffers at 2048, Sample at 96K .
