Has there been a further delay in the production and/or installation of
the VU5K modules? I've seen only one report from someone whose rig has
been upgraded, and the Flex Web site still shows the promotional pricing
that was supposed to end on October 15?
If there is a delay, is that due to a
Personally I wouldn’t be without my Shuttle-Pro2, it may offer some tiny
resistance but I prefer this to a spinning VFO experience. Each to their own.
Also there are 14 buttons which can be assigned to PowerSDR keyboard functions.
I use the Controur Powermate for filter width it lends to that
Hello all,
I have been fighting a problem with my Flex-3000 setup (or one that it is a
victim of) which I believe... is related to RF getting back into it and
freezing it up (Problem: display wave form freezes on transmit after
modulation, Flex-3000 requires a power cycle/PSDR needs to be
Hi Russ,
I love OCF antennas, (I have one in the air here and one I just finished
building a balun for another) but one thing they are NOT is symmetrical.
Because of that and the fact that they are usually fed with 4:1
voltage-mode baluns, the outside of your feedline is probably crawling
Do you have the PC grounded to the radio?
Also you may need more ferrite beads on the Firewire cable

Now that I've conquered psk using mini-deluxe I've been attempting to
get Fldigi to run at the suggestion of several on the list. I get
receive to work fine but not xmit and it isn't registering the
powersdr. I can't seem to find the PowerSDR.XML file that they tell
you to put in the radio
All,
Anyone running the Flex 5K with an external TNC? Any issues with latency?

If you didn't down load it separately it wont be there you need to down load
it from here

Be sure to turn off Mini-Deluxe so it doesn't use the PowerSDR's COM ports
unless you use DDUTIL which is another story.
Hope this helps

I am running with an SCS PTC-IIpro. Yes, there were some issues, mostly
dealt with by reducing the transfer and DSP buffer sizes to 512 or 256. Also
Alan:
No further delays. As with any new production, we don't go from zero to
100% all at once. We have shipped units and are modifying additional
customer FLEX-5000A units in the lab. Additionally, our manufacturing
partner is spooling up to begin production/shipping on new FLEX-5000A/VU5K

10ms.
I guess the necessity to reduce the buffer size would depend on how fast

The size of the buffers determines latency no matter how fast your
computer is. It has to do with sampling.
Thanks for the tutorial Brian - very informative.
You might find that you are on the thin edge of Winmor working.
Double check your buffer
