I didn't have the cache layers set. That has been fixed but for some
reason the capabilities doesn't have the time dimensions listed anymore. I
used to have them because my leaflet app would read it from there and let
me do looping. Any ideas on that?

Sorry for the back to back emails
Sorry for the back to back emails. I just fired up anUbuntu 18.04 test
server and loaded the layers on it and it seems to be working just fine.
So something is wrong with something running in Centos7. With this server
being in production right now I'm not sure how easy it would be for me to
So if I just did one layer in the group it works but as soon as I add any
of the other 3 layers it doesn't. All created from the same raw data and
put into individual geotifs per the parameters.

Hi,
try with only one layer in the group layer to see if the problem is there
then add one layer at a time to find out which one is causing the problem.
Good luck

Hi,
thank you very much for the suggestion! Unfortunately I was not able to get
the layer group working by deleting the layer group and layers and
re-adding them. There also wasn't any errors in the log. On verbose
logging, the log was full of DEBUG-messages: [geoserver.ows] - Could not

Hi,
I had the same problem. Turns out that one of the layer in the layers group
was causing the error.
We had this message in the log (verbose) :
"Error writing metadata; skipping layer: LAYERNAME"
Verify if you have this message in the log.
Try creating another group, add one layer and check

I believe this pull request should solve both:

Hi,
I noticed this question in gis.stackexchange

It seems that virtual services do not handle layer groups very well. For

I created a layer group consisting of an imagery mosaic, with the orthophoto

so I unchecked queryable for the mosaic. When I preview the layer in

Hi
Should Single layer groups that are added to a Container Tree layer

shows up only once in the capabilities, another that I have set up in

There was some trouble with the data directory: layer groups could not be

I am trying to create a basemap with several layers and labeling each

Hello Sudheer,
this is odd as I cannot reproduce this in my layergroups. The conflict
resolution within a layer works well, however, the conflict resolution
between the layers does not or I have the feeling it doesn't exist.

Hi,
Definitely its a bug. I have also encountered it sometimes, but giving
different name to layer when that situations have solved that problem.
As GS per documentation, users can have same names for their layers if the
same names present in different workspaces or different datastores.

Opening a JIRA issue is a good idea.
