Oops. Well, it seems that uploading my client map worked equally well. I'll
jot that down for future reference (I'm getting HLDS access only though a
control panel, so I have to figure out how to fix that).
Thanks.

Could we please have a way to optimise the way the update tool checks

all the mods the base files are checked 5 times.

Yeah I am also seeing the hldsupdatetool stalling - I can't see what the error

Updates to the Team Fortress 2 dedicated server have been released. And
the Linux version of the server is now available :) Run "hldsupdatetool
-command update -game tf" to receive those updates. The specific
changes include:
- Linux Dedicated Server beta release
- Fixed not being able to issue
I'm also using OgsWatcher still, and have not had any problems with it,
for CSS, DOD and TF2.
You can specify cmdline options via the section (in Mike's

control app, and better than Firedaemon in my opinion. Firedaemon is

My advice would be to use ServerChecker to keep you server online.
It runs it as a proccess, and on top of that it pings the gameserver every
XX seconds to see if its still responding (most tools just check if the
proccess is alive, they don't detect freezes).
You can find ServerChecker here;

I don't know about #1 or #2, but you can setup your own service in Windows
using the Instsrv.exe and Srvany.exe apps. If you don't mind a little
registry work, its freer than FireDaemon. Here's a nice howto:
