This is a known Glitch in Counter-Strike:Source, where certain condisions may
lead to transperant textures.
I have only experienced this on de_dust2, where the floors in tunnel has
become transperant after I have Alt+tab'ed to windows a few times of various
reasons.

talking about GOLDSOURCE not normal source

Well, you can edit the .wad of one map with a hex editor and change the
textures names so the map can't find them. In OpenGL, you'll get pink

If it's a GoldSRC game, then he might not be lying. I've seen D3D mode do
some *strange* stuff in my time, but Software mode takes the cake on that
on top of not even bothering to *try* rendering many different things.
